Hes easily replaced. Znogbia is much better IMO, Iv been saying this for ages as well. Youngy will be a lot harder to replace, Downing didn't really offer anything that a 20m quid player should.

Teams never get replacements in before a player has gone now, what would happen if we say signed Nzogbia for 10m and then the Downing deal fell through or Liverpool pull out to **** us up and were left with two players in the same position? I know we need two wingers anyway but this was just an example. Downing is overrated and for 20m I think its good business, we can get Nzogbia for half that. -------Makoun-Delph------ Nzogbia--Ireland--Albrighton -----------Bent-------------- We would still have £30m to spend + whatever AM was given in the first place. We will score goals with that attack, put that money to the defence and we will be a lot more solid this season.

Walkers signed a new deal Andy. The only thing I dont understand is the figure itself. What did we pay £15mil? That was when he was at relegated Middlesbrough and with a broken leg. Yet Liverpool will only pay what 3-5mil more. That season he also played 37 games for Boro scoring a mindblowing zero goals! Yet after his second most successful season he's only worth a couple of odd million more than his worst! Has he? Ouch. Didn't know that, pretty gutted. We paid £10m for him rising to £12m and I think its safe to say we overpaid for him, like most of MON's signings were. I just dont rate him that much. Id happily replace him with Nzogbia and have cash left over, if we can do that then its good business IMO.

In terms of the fact we got nothing back for him then yes it is a waste, even back when we signed Big Brad I would rather we got someone younger and more long term. The top defences dont chop and change players every season, how long have Rio/Vidic/VDS been together? I know thats broken up now but you see my point. Given is a good keeper, Foster is a good keeper. Ill be fine with either, but from a financial aspect and going on the figures that I have heard then I know which one sounds like the better deal. Like Pelle said there are few keepers that would excite me and non of them would sign for Villa. Given is a very good keeper. How exactly is it irrelevant? It should be the thinking of our club. Ashley Young had 1 year left on his contract and we got almost twice as much as we paid for him. Simple fact is Lerner clearly isn't prepared to throw money at the club anymore and we need to buy players that have resale value. As said watch out for pickpockets and agree the price of the taxi before you get in it or else they will charge whatever they want. There are tons off people up and down the strip offering you whatever you want, drugs, clubs, hookers etc. Just make sure you dont get dragged into a rough club, they will also charge you however much they want for a drink!

Hes not average, but hes a clearing in the woods for saying he wants to stay and then going back on it two weeks later. At least Young gave us 4 pretty good seasons from a player who could have easily left earlier. Downing, much like Milner, has had one good season so far. If these are the kind of players around these days Id much rather watch Bannan, Clark, Albrighton and co play for the club they love than these overpaid greedy, lying tossers. /End rant.
