People calling for our fans to back us in this situation did you not hear the Holte End on Sat? Chanting 'Martin, You're a clearing in the woods' fair enough, he was a clearing in the woods for what he did to the club but then 'Alex, You're a clearing in the woods!' I honestly felt very uncomfortable and that chant was embarrassing, hes not done anything horrible towards us so being abusive at him is ridiculous. Chanting to show we don't want him at the club is one thing but that was uncalled for. As much as I am a Villa fan I'm also a football fan. Be honest what are you more interested in watching this week, Villa v Bolton or Man City v Man Utd? I look forward to other big games on Sky more than I do going to Villa Park these days, does that make me less of a fan? No not at all. Football is suppose to be entertaining and watching us isn't that.

I dont blame anyone for not going to VP and staying at home for whatever reason. I have this shit record of not missing a home game for about 8 or so years and I dont want to break it yet, if I had broke it earlier this season Id have **** the rest of the games off tbh. Why should people pay £20+ to watch complete shit football being played? Id much rather watch Barca Chelsea for pretty much free on the TV. Id enjoy that more, everyone would. We have failed to score in 13 premier league games. You can say we should support the team all you like but its been getting slowly worse at VP this season and fans have a right to stay away, until they give us something decent to support then I dont see why we should. I happily went to games under Houllier where he at least had us trying to play decent football, it was entertaining to watch at times. This isn't.

Except it would be missed more than 'one bit'. Perhaps not by you who obviously doesn't like it (which is fine, btw) or even by the once/twice a year punters who could shove their dough on the health lottery or some such other thing but by the (rural) communities (and their economies) which are often built around the sport? It wouldn't just be missed. And then there are those who follow it (like me) who would certainly miss it. I bet on them a few times a year, not just the big events. If I am in the bookies for a while I will put a bet on. Its just the amount that fall in the bigger events seems to be increasing. I don't dislike it, but I think it should be made a lot safer.

I agree but I dont think playing 4-4-2 will help. You just need to let players be free in a 4-5-1 attacking system. Oh and Bannan might not influence the game all the time, but he still created the only open chance v Stoke for Gabby. Not his fault hes on the wing and has someone up front who cant predict where the ball will go.

4-5-1/4-3-3 is the new 4-4-2 and has been for years. Its not a defensive formation at all, its an attacking one that just offers better shape, cover in the middle etc. I dont like 4-4-2 we are left open in CM too often, you use 4-5-1 if you have two decent wingers a good AM and a poacher, which we do. Its just McLeish doesn't let them get forward. Why do you think Utd, Chelsea, Man City all use 4-5-1/4-3-3 for most of their formations.

Kind of depends on how my own life goes over the summer. Might just do the odd away game, shouldn't be hard to get tickets for them. I said this before I would rather be in the Championship with a decent manager playing some entertaining football than in the Prem with this clown in charge. I dont enjoy going to games at all, its a chore and more of a force of habit than anything else for why I go to the games.
