  1. Please! This is the work of the marketing dept - do you really think this distracts one iota from our transfer dealing or pre-season training...
  2. Latest image from the Villa Twitter feed: http://yfrog.com/jdpvqoj Any minute now apparently
  3. The best one yet And just when I thought every pun for his name had been used - quality
  4. Ha, I'd personally like to have a tighter one myself ...shirt that is , but you're right it would lead to some pretty awful sights up at VP lol Seriously though, I wounder how it would effect shirt sales.
  5. Not even banking John, some dodgy spread betting/currency speculating concern. You're right Risso, I am surprised that after Randy's view on 32 red being an unsuitable partner for AVFC because of it encouraging gambling, that he is selling shirt space to an admittedly more up market gambling concern. Not that I'm questioning Randy's morals, but I'd guess that decisions regarding partners are more to do with the public's perception of said partners (and ultimately the club) rather than Randy's person morals.
  6. Hello General Not a complaint, but just some constructive criticism. I've noticed on a few occasions that the way information can be presented on the website is sometimes quite hard to follow due to the length of the pages and lack of design. Two prime examples are the season ticket page and the semi final page. Sure all the information is there, but just not presented in a way that is easily digestible. I can see the the content administrators are working within the limitations of a content management system so I would have thought it would be worth while employing a website designer or agency to deal with anything over and above adding basic news and matches that the page templates can handle effectively. I'd also point out that the PDF's that can be downloaded from the season ticket page are on oversized A4 paper with the crop marks still in the corners, meaning when the average user prints them out the bottom of the page is cut off. I'd also be nice to be able to purchase a season ticket on the easy payment scheme online, without having to print out paper and fax or post it over. Like I said, not a complaint, but just my observations of someone buying a season ticket as these things can be often overlooked when you work with them every day. Or then again, as a web designer maybe I'm just being over-critical On a positive note though, I will say that the girl I spoke with on the phone from the ticket office when I called an hour ago to check for seat availability, although sounded quite new was very helpful and extremely charming.
  7. This! I find people just writing 'This' quite annoying, but oh well... I doubt people will stop doing it, and will in fact do it more because I moan about it
  8. Hello General Do the club expect the demand for the Semi-final tickets to be lower then that of the CC final? If so could it be an idea to let season ticket holders also purchase a ticket for a non-season ticket holders as well (with say a 5 game booking history) at the same time as the purchase of their ticket so that they can sit next to each other, like they could do for other ST holders for the CC final. I was over the moon to get a ticket for the final, and walking down Wembley way with my dad is an experience I'll cherish forever (hopefully the first of many) but it would have been even more special if I could have sat next to him (or even in the same block/concourse area), I really hope I can for the Semi, but am concerned that I wont be able to get a ticket for a week or so after he gets his. Only a sugestion though - I'll be happy with a ticket no matter what. I also thank Randy and his team for continuing to push this club forward. While the progress is steady it seems also to be relentless, if you look at the club now and four years ago there is no comparison. I'm going to bite the bullet and get a season ticket and face the round trip to every game at VP for next season and I suspect I will be one of many.
  9. Great squad, but how about: Milner Milner Milner Milner Milner Milner Salifou Milner Milner Milner Milner
  10. Hello General I've now come to the conclusion that if I want any refreshments at half time when there is a near full attendance I will miss some of the game. For the Blackburn semi-final, I was in the Trinity upper, queued for 15 minutes and missed 3 minutes of the second half while I chucked my beer down my neck (one of the last 3 beers, so was lucky). Yesterday in the upper Holte, again me a and my little brothers queued for 15 minutes, but this time, no pies, and no beer no cider (the small kiosk that doesn't sell chips at the bottom of K5). What a waste of 15 minutes. Luckily I was just emerging from the concourse (empty handed) literally as Downing put the cross in for Young to majestically nod home (get in!). Of course the football is by far and away my reason for attending, but I just don't feel content sitting down for the second half without my fill Now I thank you General for all the great things that Randy, you and all the team have done under his stewardship to our great football club. But if the queueing time can be brought down then it would greatly improve my match day experience. Having worked in catering management I've never understood why there can't be a 'beer only' stall. This would deal with the people who just want a beer quickly and efficiently thus greatly reducing the pressure on the full service kiosks. I hope that something can be sorted as I would hate to concede into leaving my seat after 40 minutes. Now after securing a League Cup final place, being in the draw for the 5th round of the FA Cup and a strong position in the Premier League, with a great squad of exciting young players my moan seems quite trivial, but this brings me nicely onto my next point: I understand that you're never going to please everyone regarding Final tickets, but I'd like to draw your attention to my situation regarding booking history. My Dad is a season ticket holder, and because he can get tickets before they go on general sale, he'll often purchase a ticket for me. I now understand after talking to the ticket office that he should have gave my client reference number upon ordering my ticket. I also understand that these games cannot be added to my booking history retrospectively, further more I understand that my Dad will not be able to purchase a second ticket once they go on sale to supporters with booking history, even though he has more booking history than me (on top of his season card), this seems unjust as he's quite trim and couldn't possible take up two seats . So as I said, I know that you wont be able to please everyone, and I know that I have not followed procedure to the book, but this doesn't make me a less loyal supporter. Thanks for your time General Regards Mark
  11. 10 Minutes until I leave - Wasn't able to do much work this morning, and was unable to do a single think thisafternoon. So excited I don't know what to do with myself - wanna run around like a kid! Come on VILLLLLAAAAAA!!!!
  12. lol you seem to think you can read my mind. Bit of advice for you now; putting a smiley after a sarky comment doesn't mean it's ok.
  13. I didn't say we have the best ground. Who has the best ground... it's objective, so there's no point in commenting. My point it that bolt on goodies from an 18 year old boy racer's Saxo wont improve Villa Park. You obviously view the whole thing differently to me, fine  It's called a messageboard, and you seemed to think I don't rate our ground as any good. I just rate the emirates and old trafford as better grounds. Little things like modern seats contribute to that. We don't need to be totally 70's. hmm, messageboard... thanks for that. I haven't commented on how you rate VP. I don't know why people keep harping on about the 70s. Like I've said twice, if the dugout needs updating, fine, but you don't have to use car seats. Since when have bucket seats been up to date anyway, I think you'll find they pre-date the 70s.

  15. Yes mate Just like the claret and blue tinted glasses that the Cardiff fans were wearing. All the rage in Wales ya know...
  16. I think that you're underselling Villa Park there mate! There was a thead on here linking to a thread on the Cardiff forum, they were going on about how Villa Park is better than a faceless style Emirates staium. It looks 10 times better inside now than it did 3-4 years ago. Randy has really gave it a face lift. Man U and Arsenal are two clubs heavily concerned by advertising space (I know Audi sponsor Man U's seats, not sure about Arsenal, but I'd be surprised if they didn't have an Emirates logo on). To them it's just another package they pimp out to a corporation for cash. I'd like to think that we have a bit more class than that, actually I know we have more class than that. But like I say, if Randy or MON thought the dug out needs updating why the hell use car seats, surely there would be a better solution that doesn't involve following the crowd just for the f'in sake of it. Also not sure if they fit in with the Jacobean style architecture, stained glass and mosaic that Randy is clearly a fan of.
  17. it doesn't seem to do united subs any harm does it? Personally, I'm not too fussed. MON doesn't use the seats anyway, so whatever. lol Max, and I didn't even start this 'debate'. I just think it certainly wouldn't harm the club and would help to make us look like a club with substance; a modern club with old fashioned tradtions mixed with new ideas. New ideas, more like chavy ideas lol I'm not even sure if the dug-outs need to be improved, but if they do surely it doesn;t have to involve car seat lol Makes me laugh when they even have the holes for a four point harness.
  18. The only place for Recaro seats is in a car. It's nothing to do with "the bench shouldn't be a comfy place" and "Players ought to be reminded why they are on the bench" rubbish (just another really crap footballing cliché). I just think they look ridiculous!
  19. I like both the kit and the crest - a lot! We have the classiest kit (home, away and training) that I've know of in my life time. I remember wearing my kit with pride as a kid, but deep down I knew it was a crap design, with a crap sponsor and was made by a crap company (but the colours were good). The one we have now is even better than last seasons, which was a world away from anything I've know. I can still wear my Villa top with pride but with no reservations at all, and I'm extremely grateful to the current board for this. The crest; (I'll probably get crucified for this) I like the round one, but only because it's Villa, it symbolises a proud part of our history and it's retro-cool, as a piece of design I prefer the current one, maybe because I'm a graphic designer I look for different things than the majority. The stripey one doesn't even come into it. Thank you Randy
  20. If he was fairly tall, had dark hair and could throw a ball miles it was Eric Lichaj (it's pronounced Lee-High) if not, then I've no idea. That's the fella, looked good
  21. Who finished in the right back position - No 17 I think? Looked very solid, saying that their winger was a bit light weight
  22. Hi General If you get the chance please pass my thanks and appreciation on to MON. My girlfriend met him at the Walkers stadium at the weekend. Even though she had a meeting later that day with regards to the current economic climate and work she was on such a high when she got home because she had met Martin. He was as kind and polite as she had always imagined. He kindly posed in a photo with her and signed a Villa programme (which I rushed up to her from the other side of Leicester). As a life long Leicester fan and a frequent visitor to Villa Park with me and my Father, he really made her day - which under any other circumstance would have been a totaly soul destroying one.
  23. I'll second that. Up on arrival and making my way to R7 with plenty of time to go before the kick off I discover the kiosk shut, I then have to fight back against the flow of traffic to go back to queue for 20 minutes to only be offered chips and curry! Now I don't mind paying £3 for a burger or baguette but not for a try of chips. When you've made a 70 mile journey straight from work this is not the service you would hope for. Needless to say I didn't even attempt the ordeal again at half time. Then to top it of, for what ever reason there are 8 bobbies on duty along the edge of R7. I've not noticed a visible Police presence around R7 for the full houses against Pool and City, so why 8 for 300 Bulgarians? There service behind the kiosk would have been far more appreciated. Up on leaving the ground, I grab a burger, chips and cuppa from the Aston Filla van, absolutely superb! How come a man in a van can get it so so right when Villa Park can't offer me anything else other than a tray of half cooked chips! Give that man the catering contract. Sorry my first post on this thread has become such a rant General. Apart from this minor (but at the time, very annoying) slip up, I've never been such a proud and hopeful Villan.
