  1. Sorry, sorted. Gave her a call and I've got the pin now. Oh dear... atleast you've got an hour to sort it out lol
  2. Have you received your pack yet then? Mine would have gone to my Mum's address so I will have to check with her.
  3. Any other season ticket holders not able to log into AVTV. I was ok until a few days ago now it says "You do not have an active subscription" error. I take it it Is included in this seasons privileges from ST holders? If so does it need reactivating?
  4. I'll be happy with 10th as long as we finish above the Baggies... although I am dreaming of 7th.
  5. Not sure what the connection between his wages and his drink driving are tbh. I also find the insinuation that Bannan is lowering the club's profile by getting involved in the campaign an odd one to say the least. If anything I'd say it was the club who would of put pressure on him to get involved in a initiative such as this one... especially considering it was filmed at BMH.
  6. The story is about Bannan because he is a Premier League footballer, the other lad plays lower league football. We can only presume the journalist knows nothing more than the quotes in the article. The rest is pure speculation, and talking about prison sentences is just ridiculous.
  7. We don't even know if he was driving yet do we?
  8. I would have like to see what Houlier could have done with another season or two. However I'm pretty happy with McLeish too. Other than pure curiosity, I don't really see the point of the question tbh... it's not as anyone had a choice about Houlier's health. Sure, he might have been helped out the door, but keeping a manager who could quite possibly miss some of the season or be forced to retire wouldn't have been a good choice.
  9. Figured it out... for anyone else that is as slow as me, once the seat is selected you need to use the dropdown box to select Web Exclusive.
  10. Anyone know how to get these £15 tickets as I could probably find a few people to come along? I've been on the online ticket system and selected a seat in L2 and it's saying £26. As a ST holder I'm not in the slightest annoyed by these offers. The odd few games might be cheaper if you split a ST price by 19, but they won't run them every game and it will always work out cheaper buying a ST. However the main reason I have my ST for the convenience of not having to fanny about every week getting a ticket.
  11. When we went down to 10 it soon became apparent we had nothing at all up front. I couldn't understand why one of the 4 cb's weren't taken off and replaced with either Delfouneso or Albrighton meaning we would be playing 3-4-2 rather than waiting until the 88th minute to implement an apparent 'free-for-all' system. Something like this would have gave us a chance: ....Cuellar - Collins - Clarke Downing - NRC - Petrov (maybe Bannan) - Albrighton .....................Young ..........................Delfouneso
  12. General. I'd just like to say what good value I think my season ticket was this season despite a rise from last season. I'd also say that the individual match ticket prices seem very sensible too. Thanks for all the good work.
  13. I was wondering if anything ever came of Brigada 1874 only at the last game (remembered reading your first post). Glad to see that you've stuck with it. Clearly not everyone's cup of tea, but hope you go from strength to strength personality. Definitely could have done with you at the Vienna home game lol.
  14. ...I'm sure a big bag of cash and a few sexy secretaries would help clinch a deal to though Although I thought it was terrible news when Sven showed interest in the job, I recon I could warm to him... in time.
  15. My gf is a Leicester fan (she was more gutted about MON leaving us than I was), so I've been to a few games over the years and follow news on them. I've got to say I was very impressed with Nigel Person as a manager, I know he's just gone to Hull but I'm sure we would turn his head. I'd much prefer him than any of the names the bookies have had in the running (bar Jol).
  16. I think that what they deserve is one thing, but what is more important is that action is seemingly taken to appease Villa fans, it might help to defuse any bad feeling before they travel to Brum... with the noses playing the same night things could get interesting to say the least next Thursday night. I'd personally do something like say they have to keep the front 5 rows of seating empty for future matches until they can exercise some crowd control - even 10 rows directly behind the goal. That would hurt the club financially and the supporters through lack of atmosphere. It would also give them an incentive to sort it out quickly.
  17. Watching the Liverpool game after ours, it is clear how superior our stewarding is in England. I don't think the fences help matters either - they help create a hostile atmosphere. I think that UEFA should come down on them hard but fair, this will help defuse the situation at Villa Park if we see that action has been taken. I know water wont harm Weimann (if it was water!), but it's more the intent. It must have been upsetting for the lad. I could brush off a lot of things, but being treated like that by fellow Villa fans wouldn't be a nice experience and would be hard to take - especially if my family were in the crowd.
  18. Hello General. Can you enlighten us as to what the ref said to Kevin MacDonald at the rapid game?
  19. They're getting a rest for Sunday not for previous games played. Think the point is that this early in a season they should be able to play 3 games in 8 days. But thats football nowadays More to do with the traveling and lack of preparation time I'd expect. Vienna squad wont be back until Friday, Newcastle squad will be leaving Saturday. Of course it could be done - but not ideal. I personally don't have an issue with the squad, if anyone knows what these players can do it's K Mac. He wont be going there with a team that he thinks will get hammered, he's the last person who would want to see that considering he's nurtured them for the last few years!
  20. Hello General What are your feeling on the story of Karl Oyston stepping down as Chairman of Blackpool because of his disillusionment with players salaries, agents fees and the way business in conducted in general, and accepted by other clubs, in the Premier League? Do you, Randy and Paul sympathise with him? While I'll admit to not having any in-depth knowledge of the situation in Blackpool, on the face of it I think it's a sad day when a Chairman that has achieved the near impossible feels lost in the Premier League. We are obviously in a different financial league to Blackpool, It must dishearten you when you see comments on here suggesting Randy is broke, or that he should sell up because he is not pumping £50 mil of his families money into the club every transfer window. But in Oyston case the pressure seems to have came from within the football club. I've always been against the idea of wage caps as I wouldn't like the idea of someone telling me how much I could earn. You also have to take into consideration the argument that other football associations would have to operate under a similar system for it to be a level playing field in the European competitions. However, the more I think about it, the more I'm coming around to the idea. Firstly, what players earn is obscene and in some cases going above what some clubs could afford if they were run as a business. Secondly, it may well make Man U, Chealsea and Man C (albeit not in the CL yet) less competitive in Europe... but so the #@%$ what! Spurs are competing with the exact same teams while operating with self imposed salary restrictions, as would the likes of Everton, us and probably 98% of Europe's top flight domestic teams. I do not hear any sympathy for Spurs in the media, but imagine the field day they would have if their darling 'big 4' had restrictions imposed. Sure, if the top 2/3 English teams are less successful in the CL it may have a detrimental effect on the PL, and ultimately us, but as the Milner situation has highlighted, not having a wage cap can penalise clubs like us too. I applaud the stand that Villa seemingly took with MON over a the wage to turnover ratio... but is it time to take this fight further? I wont even start on the topic of agents as I really don't want to start questioning the small amount of money I personally put into football in the form season ticket and merchandising... players I can just about stomach, but bottom feeders like agents...
  21. I'm personally quite excited about seeing the youngsters play, especially if Albrighton's and Clark's performances at the weekend were anything to go by. As someone else pointed out, they are now 2 years older than when some of them played in the Moscow game. I would imagine that with the fact that the weekends Prem game is an away trip to Newcastle had a lot to do with the selection. The squad wont get back until Friday and then have to set off for Newcastle on Saturday leaving no realistic preparation time. Everton at home the following week may be a different matter - unless this team excels of course.
  22. Not attempting to speak on behalf of the General, I'm sure he will comment, but you need to take into consideration the fact a lot of functions involved in the running of a football club, marketing, catering, stewards, ticket office, club shop franchises, groundsmen, physios etc can be outsourced to a specialist contractor or staff brought in from an agency, so you can't compare raw figures like that. General: Great day on Saturday! Albrighton was sensational, beat his man every time and I'm really excited by the prospect of seeing more from him. Carew seemed to enjoy playing the father figure too. Appointing Kevin McDonald as our manager to 'blood' the youngsters may be seen as a step backwards by some but could pay dividends next season. My biggest concern would be loosing such a good reserve team manager if things didn't work out. However I'm sure whatever the board decide to do it will be for the best. While I was saddened by the departure of MON, the events of last week and how the club has handled itself during this time has only reinforced my already strong belief in Randy and his team. I'm proud to be a supporter of such a classy football club - which is something that I'm sure you wont hear any city fan saying. On a side note, I'll add my name to the list of people who gave up queueing for a drink in the lower north stand at half time and before the game. I didn't venture down the to catering stand near R7 as I was told it was closed, I guessed that this would be temporary, but after learning about the doors not being opened at the end of the game as well (which explains the queue to exit the stand) I'm not so sure. Can you confirm the situation regarding the kiosk and doors at the R7 end of the stand?
  23. Yep I'd like to see highlights too, was at the game but want to see it again
  24. With Ash, Downing and Albrighton I don't see what SWP would offer us that we don't already have. Infact, I personally don't think it would be a disaster if we lost Milner and brought Albrighton into a 1st team this season. Albrighton has all the tenacity and determinaton that Milner has, which is Milners main quality, plus he seems to has a spark of somthing special, skill wise, that Milner lacked IMO.
  25. Call it blind faith if you will, but until Randy or Paul Faulkner prove me otherwise, we have absolutely no reason to doubt their business acumen or strategy.
