  1. They took Stoke to penalties last year in the second round and also beat us in a friendly a couple of years back. Small ground, so tough place to go to.
  2. Hopefully we aren't in for Charbonnier. He is terrible and not better than what we have already.
  3. Apparently, West Brom have agreed a fee with Manchester United for Johnny Evans, which may now open the door for Lescott to join.
  4. I have watched a lot of French football over the years, so I know quite a bit about Jordan Ayew and the thing that has struck me about him is that he is clearly talented but he just doesn't do it consistently. He reminds a bit of Gabby in that on his day he can look brilliant but then goes on a run of games where simply nothing much happens and he has a bit of an attitude at times too which doesn't help matters. His brother is more consistent on the pitch but I do think that Jordan is the more talented brother, but whether it will ever come out on a regular basis is the question. I'm not convinced but hoping that we see more of the good than the bad.
  5. Plan A is to sell the club Plan B is to appoint a new chairman.
  6. Isaac Nehemie has signed a professional contract with Villa after impressing in his trial period from Southampton. 18 years old and plays left back apparently.
  7. I'm no financial expert but I quickly tried to work out what the cost of relegation would be simply from a income point of view. The new TV money in the Premier League next season would be for us around £60-70 million (depending on how many times you were on TV etc) whereas TV revenue in the Championship would only be about £5-10 million. (Football League deal from 09-12 was £264 million. New deal from next season has gone down 26% to £195 million. Compare this to the Premier League where the new TV deals will be around the region of £1.7 billion and you get the gist of it) The parachute payments would definitely help as you do receive £16 million (not sure if changed for next season), but still as purely a ball mark figure, that's 70 million - 10+16 = a loss of £44 million possible income. Just think now that we are making a loss of £20 million (which includes the sales of Young and Downing) where we are now and consider that extra loss of TV income alone (not to mention commercial and match day income which would also take a hit) and just imagine what position the club could be in if we did go down. Its a scary thought.
  8. Bob Bradley has been given a 4-year extension as coach of the US. That link is now well and truly over.
  9. Effectively confirmed by MON that something will happen in the Milner saga in the next couple of days in his interview with ITV 4.
