Liverpool (55.5%) 8. Fulham (50.1%) 9. Wolves (48.8%) 10. Wigan (48.6%) 11. Newcastle (47.8%) 12. QPR (46.9%) 13. Everton (46.4%) 14. Bolton (45.3%) 15. Aston Villa (45.1%) 16. West Brom (44.8%) 17. Sunderland (44.8%) 18. Norwich (44.5%) 19. Blackburn (42.2%) 20. Stoke (39.4%)
  2. Had one when I was about 8 till 13, it was a blue wall with villa wall paper on one wall and a claret carpet, Villa bed spread and curtins and even lamp shade.
  3. I still don't think its dead. Remember big ron in the 90's on/off/on ???? That's be amazing.
  4. Who is this Actor Julie? And what is his relevance?
  5. I hear what you are saying about beating Barcelona but did you see the tactics he used to do that? It was like a scene from Custers last stand. 10 men in the box. After McNegative last year we need something more exciting to bring fans back. I want to see us go out and attack the 'elite' teams like the 2-2 against Man Utd under Houllier and I worry that DiMatteo would be tempted to employ negative tactics instead. What a ridiculous argument, HELLO! HE BEAT BARCELONA! WITH 10 MEN! It baffles me it really does, a guy who has just won the european cup gets less support than a guy with one season in norway. He was successful because he had a short term goal there, to abandon any idea of moving the club forward before the end of the season, reintegrate the old guard and win some matches. He did this by playing a horrible brand of football that I would hope never to see at Villa Park again. And it's not even as if results for Villa would be guranteed playing that way. Doing it with a very expensive Chelsea side is incredibly different to doing it with the current Villa side. To be fair to RDM as much as I dont want him that was the only way he was going to get a result against both Barcelona & Bayern Munich, who I'd personally rate 1st & 3rd best teams in Europe. He had a very make shift back line and had he tried to play Barca at their own game they would have lost 6-0 or more. His record since taking over even in the league where he has continuously rested players cos lets face it an FA Cup looks better on a cv than a fourth place with Chelsea, realistically his stock will never be higher. Surely he could walk into many a top job in Serie A. Is he now too big for us?
  6. Di Matteo is the most likely candidate in my opinion, the fact he won the champions league the board will go for him and lets face it we are up shit creeck and I cant see any paddles. Just going backing him on Betfair.
  7. I had Ken McNaught sitting in my living room a couple of months back organising a game against the Villa Old Starts (this sunday by the way) and he said when Villa played Bayern in 82 the game was pretty much brick up the goals and try n nick it 1-0 - in his own words...... so on that basis above, we can wipe off the Euro 82 win because we didnt "play mesmerically" that all fans seem to want nowadays........... I dont care for tip tap football..... everyone wants to play like Arsenal, Barca and for some god-forsaken reason, Swansea........ and what is the sumtotal of all that - THEYVE ALL WON SWEET FA THIS SEASON........ Id much rather play like Chelsea and win the Champs League - and if anyone else thinks otherwise, then IMO theyre frankly deluded ! Exactly, Beggers cant be choosers!
  8. 32 Games.. 24 Wins.. 6 Draws.. 2 Losses.. Damn impressive. Two of those against Man. Utd. one of the losses against Benfica, knows how to develop young players and getting them ready. But might be difficult to get him away from Basel though, but it is young up and coming managers like him we need to go for IMO. This, this & this. Exactly why I wanted OGS. Dont care how we play once we get results, thats what I always admired about Jose. He had a system it was ugly but it's won him a hell of a lot of trophies.
  9. This appointment is HUGE and to be perfectly honest I dont trust him to get it right. He maybe able to sell Villa to companies however he is clearly unable to sell it to managers. Of the two he has been pivotal in appointing McLeish had just got relegated felt his stock was clearly high after his League Cup win and though if he could get top ten with Birmingham surely he could do every bit as well with Villa. Houiller, was doing some job for the french fa and in my opinion wanted one last shot at a managers job. We need someone exactly like Soslkjaer who could be world class and let him build his team.
  10. He basically said offer me the job and Im yours.
  11. If we did pull the plug why do it in a way that makes everyone but us look like a winner? Rokke = keeps his manager. Solskjaer - becomes an even bigger hero gets a nice pay hike. AVFC - lost a manager who would have seemed like the front runner, who ticked all boxes, now left with what exactly?
  12. I think Grayson and McCarthy are the only two people you have named there that would actually say yes to us. I think we are in big trouble Exactly how I feel at the moment.
  13. People really don't understand betting, do they? Odds depend initially on the bookies' knowledge and insight, but from thereon reflect the betting patterns of the public. If 10,000 people simultaneously went and put £100 on Mr Blobby to become the next AVFC manager it would drop his odds...it doesn't mean it's going to happen. So if Randy can't get AVB then he should leave AVFC? If he can't persuade a manager who won the quadruple in Portugal, including becoming the youngest ever European silverware-winning manager, and who then went to Chelsea and is now sitting pretty on a nice settlement package, biding his time for a top European job... Give me a break. Im sorry but no one else can get us where we need to be. (off the top of my head) i.e. challenging for honours. If it was Mr. Lerners ambition when he bought this fine club to finish top 6 while getting the odd trip to Wembley sure he can stay but thats not acceptable for me. I want to be top of the pile and if Mr. Lerner cant provide that then imo its better for everyone if he moves on. Im not saying I'm not grateful for what hes done. Obviously I dont expect immediate success and would have given OGS sufficient time as in 2 years before Id expect to be where Fulham are.
  14. When Bruce left Wigan he had them in 11th place allbeit on 45 points, dont think Martinez has better that? For the bulk of the season that I watched them I thought they were by far the worst team in the league but how come they can win so many of their last games and not the first ones? Huge bummer is right. Randy & Faulkner made to look like fools again. How much did we end up paying for McLeish? 2mil in compo was it. Theyd be better off throwing 4 at Molde and seeing how many tickets theyll want to sell then.
  15. Randy may as well go if he gets this wrong, in my opinion the only man for the job now is AVB, if he's just going to appoint someone average Di Matteo, Curbs, Martinez just throw in John Gregory at least he loves the club and wouldnt be thinking about a cv.
  16. That's exactly why I'd give it to him. Say he comes in gets us 45-50 points job done.
  17. Id give him the job ahead of anyone else at the minute, Lambert no longer inspires me, Martinez would have been a nice man to get in when Mon was in charge for the month of March, the only person I'd give it to ahead of him at the moment would be that guy who applied and got Braga to the Europa final.
  18. Anyone else think it has Simon Grayson written all over it? 3/1 on skybet
  19. you can work out your position on the site if i remember right. at least you used to (can't see it anymore as i'm in italy). if not google "arbitrage betting calculator" and you should get a load of stuff to help you out. basically back high odds and laying at low odds means you lock in a profit, regardless of outcome. I know ya but funds were low on the Thursday (dont get paid till Friday) so instead of having to deposit the min on betfair of €15 I only stuck 10 at 33s on Paddy Powers. But when I saw the price at 1.3 last night I would have laid all my action as I did think it would go back out to about.
  20. Can some betfair Whizz explain this to me, if I had €10 at 34.0 on OGS & then laid of the max possible at 1.3 would Id be able to take 1133 on him not getting the job yes? Then when he went back out to 1.85 back the max possible on him again what would my overall profit be was he to get the job?
