  1. Slightly OT but does anyone think its possible that a lower flat wage could eventually be negotiated with players say 30k salary and depending on the position say 40k bonus for a clean sheet, goal, assist, and maybe 100k for player of the month? A buddy of mine plays for munster and hes always giving out about what they earn compared to soccer players, said there is no try bonuses in rugby as players might selfishly go for a try when a pass would be a better option.
  2. I think this is where the idea of the the blue bar running from shoulder to shoulder came from.
  3. Where'd you hear/see that moose?
  4. Reminds me of a turtle.
  5. Tony Pulis? Think I could see Hutton at Stoke. I could see Dunne go to a lot of places to be honest, plus he's been amazing for Ireland in the qualifying stages. If he had a really big Euros who knows who could come in for him.
  6. I used to do that on the Yellow gk jersey I had the one with the green trim, Id imagine it was around 97? This One

  8. The quote above and the 'there will be some players moving on' are the only two concerning quotes for me and my 'being let down too many times by our club' red light started flashing.. 'We'll be making some smart moves' - (Could interpret) - bringing in loan signings, grabbing a few 'cheap' has beens via free transfers or replacing old with young in terms of using our youngsters for a while. 'There will be some players moving on' - (Could interpret) - with not just some of the deadwood being sold, could we also cash in on a couple of our assets (Bent, Gabby). this would enable us to have that money to spend that PF spoke about. Ever the negative I know. Overall though, i am delighted that we have got Lambert and we are once again in high spirits. I am looking forward to the summer now, just to see ij which direction our club is heading. Couldnt smart moves be construed as we sell Hutton who is on 40k a week and get in Naughton on loan with a view to a permanent deal whos on 15-25k a week. The same could be said for Dunne whos on pretty much 55k a week if we could ship him out get in two centre backs on 30k. Can you imagine if we shipped out the entire back 4 getting 200k a week off the wage bill give or take 10k and brought in younger, hungrier players saving about 80k a week in the process.
  9. 31 seconds into the video you see the collar as a sketch. Looks AMOZING From that I'd say that there is a blue section on the top with a white macron sign, not to dissimilar to the black section that was on top of that blue nike away kit we had in 08/09. Anyone with the proper skills want to chance a mock up?
  10. Honest to go went in there and the whole first hour just seemed like it could have been done in about 8mins, thought it was painful. How it got 8.5 on IMDB is beyond me, that being said I though avengers was good but it was rated as one of the top ten films ever on IMDB, not a chance.
  11. TDK is fairly unbelievable I remember when me & my ten year old brother came out of the cinema the two of us were in awe of what we had just witnessed. Begins is another great movie, but I just have a slight feeling that the 3rd might blow both out of the water. Can not wait.
  12. We've paid out £12mil in compensation to or for managers in the last 2 years. That's more than your transfer budget last season.
  13. Either twitter person IncognitoAVFC stalks this forum or he and Richard have the same source. Posted about Culverhouse and karsa at a similar time. Or he is Richard
  14. I actually don't think this matters, it is about the vision he can put forward and the fee we pay. At Livingston he brought in players from Belgium, Austria, Ireland & Italy. Althought the one from Italy was Paul Dalglish. Interestingly enough he also signed Wes Hoolahan who is now at Norwich then as well from Shelbourne.
  15. But why have people learning on the job when we can have qualified, experience people doing the job and hitting the ground running? I agree to an extent but to be fair the bulk of us were going crazy over a man not so long ago who had done a lot of training on the job at United. I dont see the harm in having someone who played along side Maldini & Nesta. He also won a Champions League (seeing as its such a bonus for Lambert). As for Petrov was he to get over his illness, hopefully, I think he could make a great coach, model pro and has over 100 caps for his country. Surely these men could potentially be great coaches.
  16. Tell the trees and co to come back all is well and good in the world of VT.
  17. Maybe you should put out a few more details so others can share in the information? He said earlier, get rid of AM, appoint PL, reinvest in the squad.
  18. Thats the thing I think most people would want him for £3million however Norwich will be demanding at least double that and when you factor in the sour taste we will have left in their mouths we could be talking £8million and upwards.
  19. yeh, he played over 300 games for them, was in the team that beat Inter I think in the 90s... So not a given he'll move. Culverhouse was named Colchester United assistant manager under Paul Lambert. Culverhouse, Lambert and 'football operations manager' Gary Karsa all resigned from Colchester to take up positions at Norwich City on 17 August 2009.
  20. Made by greenz a few weeks back.
  21. Taking all this together and if it is the club's thinking then I'm not terribly hopeful of good things in the short term, tbh. You forgot the annual costs of terminating the contract of the existing manager (and backroom staff) and the compensation for the new manager (and backroom staff) at about £2m each. So that adds on about 4.5%. ;-) Do we have to pay that entire sum or would it be cut short if he was to get a new job, wasnt that the story with Ranieri at Chelsea.
