  1. Well, it still send out a signal to the rest of the world. Our own isn´t good enough. Xenophobic or not, national sides tend to stay with same nationality manager if possible.
  2. Can´t believe Scotland. Hanging on to a 1-0 lead with 15 min. to go and they replace Bannan and Adam...
  3. Getting tight now. We are in a dogfight with Portugal to win the group and with Sweden to become the best runner-up. Denmark-Portugal and Sweden-Holland on tuesday.
  4. It is much easier when already employed but that doesn´t mean accept everything. Depending on your situation and personality. Debtfree and low-cost lifestyle = "Cya suckers, I quit!" Otherwise, stay and use the time searching for something less bad.
  5. Peloton is the biggest/main group. It is the same in the TDF. Difference is that it has multiple stages, with or without mountains. Sprinters are not good climbers and very rarely (if ever) wins the tour.
  6. Wait to see what happens when the olympics come to London and the road race goes down to Surrey! Its going to be chaos... Yeah, alot of chaos and angry cardrivers. A poor young Dutch rider must really hate Copenhagen. He had his race ruined when one of our citizens decided to cycle on the route. Then, as he was giving interviews, some cheeky bikethief stole his bike. Later he tried to sell it at Christiania but they took it from him and returned it to the rider. Well done and happy 40th birthday to them.
  7. That is not true for all of Scandinavia. You will not find any of those figures in Denmark. Especially the earnings. We do have ID cards (social security) and we have all been reduced to CPR-numbers, given by birth or when becoming a citizen, but the personal information is not public. You need to be a controller for that. Regarding the economy...Buy the dip and get more gold!
  8. Congrats to Cav and Team GB. Fully deserved. Was pretty fun having Copenhagen turned into a cycling route, though not all would agree.
  9. Slightly worried about this one...Come on Villa, prove me wrong!
  10. We need more patience. No team will learn the elusive pass&watch style over night. No stream - 10
  11. ECB Announcement: 15 September 2011 - ECB announces additional US dollar liquidity-providing operations over year-end The Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) has decided, in coordination with the Federal Reserve, the Bank of England, the Bank of Japan and the Swiss National Bank, to conduct three US dollar liquidity-providing operations with a maturity of approximately three months covering the end of the year. These operations will be conducted in addition to the ongoing weekly seven-day operations announced on 10 May 2010.
  12. Indeed. I blame the Dutch. Hehe, I blame the blacksmiths. Will be funny if/when China open their gold-exchange. I made a mistake with those pound/dollar/euro comparisons. They didn´t compare last 12 months but only since new year.
  13. It is an international race to the buttom. Good for exports, right?
  14. So as some sort of yardstick by which to measure the relative performance and strength of each currency? Pretty close to the same level then? Yeah a highly manipulated yardstick though. The number of "paper-gold" ounces outnumber real gold on Earth by far.
  15. And what is the position of the pound now in comparison to twelve months ago? I couldn't tell you the changes for each currency, it would probably be available on the net if someone were to put enough time in to find all the fluctuations over the last year against different countries and different commodities. To be fair, they are changing all the time. Last monday or tuesday the Swiss franc lost 7%. Last wednesday the Euro had won over 8% against the dollar across last 12 months. Right now it is less than 2%.
  16. Depends what you measure against. For the purposes of the comments made above: other currencies. I do consider gold a currency but because of the debate I put it in brackets. It is the best measurement we have when all currencies, only backed by future taxes and confidence, drops at the same time. No VAT on gold in EU also indicates this. Compared to the US$ the pound has won 1.40%. Against the Euro it has lost 0.5% in last 12 months.
  17. Depends what you measure against. Gold has probably won around 40% in the last 12 months on most (other?) currencies.
  18. How can you blame the unemployed when many employed seem to bogart all the work? 50-60 hours a week is just crazy and it sounds (in other topics) like many reach those numbers, sometimes giving their work away for nothing.
  19. Portugal is cheaper and more liberal than Holland regarding cannabis. They also got better weather and could really use the money generated by taking the cannabis-throne from Holland. I don´t see them changing their laws on this as it seem to have good effects. I also remain sceptical about Holland actually changing much.
  20. Yes it has. I do see a change coming soon. Not really because of potsmokers but because of the other benefits from the plant. Also, the decision makers seem to have run out of scary things that cannabis will do to you. Suspicion of low sperm counts was the last bullet before they went full circle with: "This isn´t the same (harmless?) cannabis as it used to be" That may or may not be correct but the best sollution to that is...Legalization.
  21. I would prefer to keep it at 16 teams. Except the "Top-dogs", qualification is a big thing in itself and making that too easy would mean no interest in the groups. Make a qualification for the qualification or, like in other sports, make A, B, C versions. I don´t know what is happening in Scotland and Rep of Ireland these years but they both got a great history of football and should do better. It isn´t just a lack of numbers, imo. They got around the same population size as Norway, topranked for the WC, and Denmark whose EC history compares ok´ish to Englands.
  22. Indeed there is, it´s called "Forvaring". They can hold him forever.
  23. Sounds like he's more 'ethnic north european' than anything... One doesn´t exclude the other. He doubts the existance of what "God" though? I don´t agree with it but newspapers like to put everything and everyone in neat little boxes. In this case I would say Christian fits very well. Especially combined with the strawman "Fundamentalist". If he was a believer in Odin and the rest of that gang he wouldn´t be in a (fictive) KT group and he would certainly have aimed for Valhalla instead of being taken alive. Just compare with the lifestyles, reported by some of the terrorists, descriped as holy warriors for Islam. It´s all about boxes.
  24. Well they are likely busy removing all the Al Queda references. To me though, he is a Christian as he considers himself "100% Christian". Just because he is capable of trusting science doesn´t make him an atheist. He may not be protestant, catholic or fundamentalist (whatever that means), but still a Christian.
