As long as this is only about tobacco, then I stopped almost 2 years ago after 20 years. Wasn´t as hard as I expected but then it was my own decision. Not forced on me. Nah I don´t think they (OPEC etc.) are holding back for any other reason than they are not able to supply more. The Saudis have failed to deliver many times. We continously find new deposits, making them sound very large with an impressive number of millions of barrels. At the same rate existing drillsites are going extinct. The price has routinely passed $100 on many occasions, top this year was $115 per barrel. So what reason is there not to increase production? Only country that seem able to raise production is Russia and even they are being pushed to more difficult/dangerous sites, pushing the eroei lower and lower.

Mate the idea that 'peak oil' has been reached is not true at all, the exisiting major fields are still swimming in the stuff - Saudi, the Stans, Russia etc - and the new fields are just more difficult to get to. They are either in deeper water offshore or in pretty unstable places onshore... ...Watch the international focus zero in on Somalia and Yemen in the next 24 months. Careful, you'll be labelled a Tory if you use language like that :winkold: That is why I didn´t mention peak oil. Peak production however, is easy to meassure.
