  1. You want him sacked now. Wouldn't that do more harm than good? Jez, I've already asked Richard the same question at 10:07 last night; get in the queue! :winkold: Assuming you haven't forgotten to change it, what would your wish achieve at this point of the season?
  2. Exactly what I need to lose.
  3. Not at all. Lamination connotes bonded layers. If I blu-tak two sheets of writing paper together, have I laminated them? No. If I make the bed, and lay the top sheet on the bottom sheet, have I laminated them? **** hope not. Lamination involves putting two layers together, but it doesn't follow that every instance of putting two layers together is lamination. PS - I am open to correction by anyone who has more than a seven-year-old's understanding of science. I think lamination means the process of creating a material from 2 layers of material that subsequently acts as one. Which a 2+ ply piece of loo roll matches - the plys form a single sheet and act together unless pulled apart. I don't think theres any connotation of bonding as such, just that the seperate layers have to be connected and working as a single material . It's time for a "Laminating... " poll.
  4. Big Fat Ron's Claret and Blue Army! Good point though.

  6. Thanks for the link. No gloves is a good start in my opinion!
  7. Welcome back General. You have been missed. I hope you and your family are well. Has Mrs K sanctioned your return? :winkold:
  8. Even if we do well over the next few seasons, you'd prefer he left? He could have a great 36 months and you'd still not forgive him for his first 4? :?
  9. I asked you to look forward to avoid the obvious repetition of the Liverpool issue and for you to avoid the past tense. :bonk: Been and gone, as far as I'm concerned, no point in crying over spilt milk. To summarise your post - you'd like Villa to do well and then for GH to leave slowly?
  10. Looking forward, what would it take? The gift of sight? You're not a fan of GH because you're blind? Ah, I see. :winkold:
  11. I don't think our results under houllier have been seized upon with more dram than necessary, they are terrible and thats the most important thing. I think so called issues are being exaggerated as yet another excuse for houllier. I was referring to the wailing about GH's 'so called' love-in with another club. I disagree very strongly with your last statement. In my opinion there are a few fans who really can't grasp the size of the issues inherited by GH also and struggle to look past the very, very short term. I think there are plenty who can see certain issues and except a drop this season was going to happen, some just don't think those issues should see us in the position we are. As serious as the issues were, perhaps we should be 5 or 6 points better off than we are at the moment? That would see us in mid-table. I just don't see what good changing to A. N. Other manager would do at this stage of the season. It's not liked we went for an unproven young manager in the hope he did well, GH is proven and deserves more time, unless a change would guarantee an improvement.

  13. Even good managers don't do well all the time (Moyes?), that doesn't mean they should be sacked after half a season, especially given the circumstances at our club (sudden loss of an 'ingrained' manager, no transfer window, sudden injury crisis). Hopefully Randy is looking to the medium term and will give GH until this time next year to prove we on the right track (top half would be good to start!). You say it can't be any worse; if K Mac was appointed and with 5 games to we were bottom 5 points behind 17th, should Randy sack K Mac, and for whom?
  14. Keep making excuses, the fact you're hinting that he's doing a good job while we are in the mix of a relegation battle is ridiculous. Good managers can come in and install confidence. Good managers can come in and change ideas without unrest. Managers held in high regard at the time such as Hodgson and Hughes? Shame they were unavailable. :winkold: On a serious note, who would you have appointed?
  15. Good points well made. Unfortunately for our club GH made a few mistakes that were seized on, some with more drama than necessary. This has clouded a few fans memories and/or judgement on remembering the issues that were at the club before GH joined and our subsequent injury predicament. Hopefully we'll push on for a solid mid-table finish and we will all be able to forgive and forget as we rebuild for next season.
  16. I'm not saying staying up would be a success but given that our previous manager (who's systems were ingrained at the club), left us a few days before the first game of the season and there were no decent managers immediately available before the end or the transfer window (i.e our new manager was always going to have to work with what he inherited), what would be counted as acceptable this season? I'd say 10th when he first came in, 12th in our current position.
  17. Two points: 1) Us fans don't get to see what goes on in training all week. If Ireland's effort, application and attitude are p!ss poor all week, why should he be in the squad for the weekend? 2) Balaban? I don't care if Ireland stands around in the centre circle smoking a packet of fags and drinking a cup of tea, he's more use than Pires. And the few times that Balaban played, I'd say he contributed more than Pires has to date. At least he could run. For all Balaban contributed on the pitch he might as well as kept running... straight off the pitch - Forrest Gump style! My point was that none of us wanabee football managers have the information and evidence available to us that the club has. I'm sure GH had hoped for a better standard from RP when he signed him but GH also made it clear that SI's attitude was all wrong. GH has indicated an improvement (although how much of that was just to make SI worth something to sell?), so hopefully we will see more of SI than RP before May. How much, I'll leave to the better informed judgement of GH.

    Snow Watch!

After another 3 inches of snow overnight, it's now snowing again in North Worcestershire.
