You can only beat what's in front of you.

And winning games gives confidence, doesn't matter who ut is against.

I think they are a threat. I absoluely do.

Not sure how much confidence they'd be taking from consistently scraping 1 goal wins against bottom half dross, which is what 7 of their 8 wins have been. Yesterday was their only win by more than a goal. And even then I'd say if you didn't know who'd won 3-0 in that game and saw the stats you'd think it must have been Everton. They hardly look convincing.

So with a run coming up of: new CHE BOU liv whu AVL nfo TOT wol WHU avl, realistically what are they taking from that?

And Man Utd just have the knack of winning football games.

Utd have only beaten teams from the bottom half of the table. They've not looked convincing in most of those games. They've also lost all 4 games against top half oppo and at home to 13th place Palace. Their next 11 games, 8 are against top half sides, 2 are away at Wolves and Forest. both of whom they only scraped by at home. The other is Bournemouth at home.

On the evidence of how they've been so far this season they should absolutely tank these games and be well off the pace when the run ends in mid Feb.

Guy is the definition of a analog man in a digital world. The Steve Bruce of the NBA from what I read. Honestly not know enough about the finer points of basketball these days to call it myself but the consensus seems pretty clear.

Pretty defense focused from what I remember, but in a different, much less exciting and as of right now much less successful way to how we are now. Got us to the post season two out of three years (the third being heavily injury hit then we ripped everything up on deadline day). But then perhaps lucky the East was so bad that second season as .452 got us to the playoffs. Pretty reliant on Vooch throughout time with us as never really got Gordon or Fournier going.

  4. Adding another graph to the mix, here's my 65 point season results projection based on fixture difficulty with 60 and 70 point adjusted lines, vs. actual point and a projection at the original 65-point trend.

    av271123.thumb.jpg.356a15d97d3ec0cfa30e1e6476712c75.jpg

Currently we are 5 points ahead of the 65 point line, 3 ahead of 70 point line, with the original projection for remainder of season getting a 70 point finish and almost certain CL qualification if it drops to 5th. Continuing our over performance on the original projection, we'd be looking at a 79 point finish.

Have broken the remaining fixtures into groups to show what we need to do up to the winter break, the March international break, then the end of the season to get to 70 from now.

Xmas period to Winter Break - 8 games, 13/14 points, 1.6-1.8ppg (bou MNC ARS bre SHU mnu BUR eve)

City and Arsenal toughest of this run, but both at home might help us get something. Might not need it though as plenty of opportunities to get points elsewhere, so long as we can perform away. Should be looking at maximum 6 from Sheff Utd and Burnley at home.

Winter Break to March Internationals - 8 games, 15 points, 1.9ppg (NEW shu MNU ful NFO lut TOT whu)

I'd think we should be favourites for the majority of these games. Big chance to pick up plenty of points and ease the run in, which is the toughest group of the lot...

March Internationals to End of Season - 9 games, 13/14 points, 1.4-1.6ppg (WOL mnc BRE ars BOU CHE bha LIV cry)

The likely top 3 (two of them away), a local derby, Brighton away. Even Chelsea if they can get into gear and Brentford with Toney back could be tough. Hopefully we'll be heading into this run upwards of or as close to 60 points as possible. We are currently trending to hit around 62-63 points going into the March break...

Think is they are never going to commit to the tank under Mitch and Clifford (no idea about the new owners since Jordan is still lurking in the background and all his shills are still there). You'd hope they'd trade Rozier and Hayward for pieces that fit's with the team and timeline but I'll believe it when I see it.

He did coach the season we ripped it all up and got Franz and Suggs and WCJ out of it. Guess front office took it out of his hands though and he was gone after that season anyway.

I see it's the time of the annual Melo Ball ankle injury. Get ready for a month or more of ISO 3-point chucker Rozier running point since the Hornets doesn't have a back-up PG worth the name.

Good for the tank, though, right? 😄

Magic with the biggest opening night winning margin in their history last night. Barely got out of second gear and Banchero with pretty quiet night as well. Fun season if we keep that up.

Well it looks like we are keeping it up. So fun to watch right now.

Huge game later against the Celtics. Nice 7.30pm tip for the UK as well.

Yeah, now we just gotta keep it going :D Might be in a bit of trouble once Melo picks up his inevitable injury and is out for 4 months since we have no back up playmaker.

This was fun, Mark really is a difference maker on defense.

Nice. Dropped him out of my VT fantasy league didn't I. (TBF I had no power forwards so had to lose someone, but would've been nice to have his numbers from last night)

  11. Was tied up all yesterday and couldn't make the draft! Had second pick as well. Team not terrible but very imbalanced, if anyone's got some PFs they wanna trade me, I've got a tonne of PGs and centres.

So it says we have an AI controlled team in the league?

Is there really nobody else who wants to take that team?

Yeah only had 7 join so stuck with an AI team. What do people wanna do about this, keep the players the AI picked effectively locked to that team, or I think I can release them or swap them out for crap so those better players become available?

I've joined but will think of a better team name down the line. I can work round any time. Any guess on how long the draft will take?

I'd guess an hour or so. Did a 12 team draft last night that took about that long, maybe a bit longer, we've only got 8 once @Dodgyknees has joined, and 10 if @Tom13 and @a-k join as well, so should take less time.

7 joined league so far. Think still missing @Tom13 @Dodgyknees @a-k. Had a notification that a "Michael V" joined in the week but they have gone again it seems so not sure who that was?!

Draft time is provisionally set for Tuesday 17th at 8pm BST. Does this suit everyone or does this need to be moved. Tbh later is probably better for me, so happy for this to move back a few hours.

Still only 7 teams joined at present (missing @Tom13 @Dodgyknees @a-k I think) and no response to above on the draft date as yet so tempted to push back til later in week or at weekend? @Reivax_Villa @Hornso @AndyM3000 @Beastmix @Xela @gwi1890

Would also be good if we could get to 12 teams before the draft so if anyone else wants to join please let me know asap.

Looks a lot better rotated slightly forward and with the star removed from its eye line.

And I'd say it's better than the previous one when that's done

And even better still if you use the larger slightly more detailed lion from the gaslamp badge.

All of this. Made all these comments myself in the survey.

Tottenham being talked about as title contenders after being gifted a victory at home to Liverpool to take them two points above us.

If them, why not us? Finished higher last season and we've strengthened (but then had major injury setbacks) while they've weakened, manager aside (yet to be really seen though).

We've also had the tougher games IMO. And had to play three more competitive fixtures in the same time. And had bad luck in our toughest games while they appear to have had a fair amount of luck in their most difficult fixtures.
