    People keep saying to me how good Martinez is, and I know really know that much about him. However, whenever I have seen Wigan this season they have been terrible. I i'll admit I thought they were nailed on for relegation because of this. I think like alot of supporters this is the only yard stick I haveon him.

    I disagree from a perspective of hope more than anything else. This place has a bad reputation due to a vocal minority and I really wouldn't want their opinions clouding the judgment of professionals. I don't think there was much call for Houllier, and I'd say the reaction was at best mixed. That said I don't mind how much notice they take, as long as they take note that McClaren would be a very unpopular choice. The new manager will need at least some goodwill from the offset.

    Well the didn't have a clue last time. GH came out of nowhere, not sure he was even in the bookies top twenty. So I expect as much clueless speculation again.

    The board can't let Houllier think he's going to get sacked whatever happens, because he could then just not give a sh#t. And that'd make things even worse.

    Yep had a go on one yesterday and was fairly underwhelmed. Reminded of those old 3D postcards you used to get. The 3D sets back into the screen and is much less impressive than the current cinema 3D. Also I find it telling that very few shops seem to have one out on display. I had to ask to have a go on one from behind the counter. If its so jaw-dropping, have one working out front and they'll be flying of the shelves?

    Just reading the General's thread, and he puts a big post about how the bad form is about players. Not chasing down balls, marking players etc.. And it got me thinking that if GH can convince the board a manager can have so little influence on the players, and the subsequent form. Than maybe we should save ourselves a shit load of money and have no manager at all.

    I once read that after a poor deafeat Paul Sturrock cancelled training and made his players work on a building site for the day. To teach them how easy they had it. I'd love a manager with that sort of attitude right now.

    But can it really get much worse? At least you might get fans, and players(unfortunately this seems the case) back on side.

    To me it's about marrying the right manager to the right club. Fat Sam was great for Bolton, terrible at Newcastle. Little and Gregory were both a good fit for us, but have.hardly done well elsewhere. With all the good will in the world, I don't think GH and Villa are a good match
