  1. Moyes or Benitez for me. I think if the Benitez / Barry saga didnt happen then he would get a bigger shout from the fans. He cannot be that bad a manager if Inter Milan chased him and Real Madrid was linked with him on a number of occasions. Okay he made some vital mistakes but I am sure he is better for it. He knows the prem, he knows what is needed to succeed in the prem, I think he's worth a shout.
  2. Did someone mention that MM wasn't going to post any information on here anymore?
  3. Ancelloti, Hughes, Jol or Moyes I'd be happy with. However I did vote Ancelloti. A big no to Maclaren though
  4. When initially asked who I'd want in as soon as MON left I said Mark Hughes or David Moyes. I didn't think about GH cause I thought he had finished with Mngt. When his name was touted I was very happy as his record speaks volumes. I actually think he is better than MON and he will take us to the next level.
  5. Well said General - Unfortunately whatever you do, whatever you say you will get an element of fans that will knock Mr Lerner and the board. Even if Mourinho was appointed and he had a billion quid to spend on player there would be some knockers. Tornado - Do one! (BOF : He has done)
  6. Where on the other hand I would be happy with Houllier! His record in the prem speaks for itself; A 52% win record Never finished lower than 5th! And has a record of winning trophies! Whereas Curbs IMO would be a massive mistake. A guy that is quoted as saying Villa was his worst career move as a player speaks volumes for me. However if Mr Lerner appoints him, I will still support the club, the manager (with gritted teeth) and the team! I trust the board will make the right appointment. They have gave me no reason to question them before and I am sure Mr Lerner, who has spents millions developing the club, wouldn't want his investment going down the swanny.
  7. Hi General, Its not often I comment on your thread but I have to say that these guys who have commented so far on your thread have a point. So far I have been thrilled with the progress we have made while Mr Lerner has been in charge. But this is his chance for him to take centre stage and do something that he really wants to do with the club. His stewardship is now at a critical stage of our development and progression and the wrong move could undo the 4-5 years of hard work. Some fans have come on here and commented that it doesn't take 2 weeks to appoint a manager, I have to disagree with them as there have been a number of cases where chairman have taken their time, and been successful. What I do expect is the board to be at the final stages of appointing the right manager for the job. Unfortunately MON has gone, bringing him back as 99% of the fans know is not the way forward and if the rumours are set to be true as to why he walked then I fully back Randy and the board. This is the time now to get a manager with great pedigree.
  8. One man for me, Mark Hughes. I don't care if it upsets Fulham and Al Fayyad. Make an approach, give them £4 mill from the Milner fund and get him in. He will motivate the team and get us playing a style of football we will enjoy!
  9. The Mirror Ap onthe IPhone is saying that a source at Villa has distanced themselves from Bob and he is looking at DC Utd. Ronald Koeman has thrown himself into the mix. 3rd favourite on Betfair
  10. Easily as good as Milner all be them different types of player. Both have positives and negatives that outweight each other IMO. Milner is better back-tracking and he'll work all day for you. Ireland is a more creative midfielder who I believe will compliment our strikers more.
  11. At least we know where we stand with Milner. I hope we get a around £25 mill for him so we can add more quality to the squad. Good luck to him and his comfy cushion, he's going to need it!
  12. Whats Buen a Vista, how does that go? I think that was WEHATEBLUESCUM Well that's what I was singing, Bet I looked a clearing in the woods if it was the wrong song, I'm sure it was though, at first I was at the back at the holte tihkning "Why are we signing we hate Bisto?" they said BLUESCUM really quickly so you couldn't really hear it properly..but I soon found out by someone standing directly next to me, it was followed by "100 YEARS, YOU'VE FACK ALL" Nice one! We are down towards the bottom on of the upper holte and couldn't hear it that well. Cheers!
  13. I'm not sure how you managed to come to this conclusion! You could have said that about David Platt when he left but we come back stronger!!!!! A lot of Everton fans that I know thought Lee Carsley was a big loss as he was their engine room, but they have done better this season! One player doesn't make a team!
  14. In the Holte they were singing a song that sounded like 'Buen a Vista' what was it?
  15. A dodgy month and we are doing a poll on a manager that has taken us from the brink of relegation to contenders of european qualification 2 seasons in a row???...
  16. I disagree with your statement about the way MON and the board has handled the Barry situation, i think we;ve tried to go about it 100% the right way. MON never wanted Barry to go and did his best to try and make him stay, even offering a new contract. It is Barry himself and Liverpool who have gone about this the wrong (public) way and decided to take this to the press. I actually feel sorry for MON because he really needs to know what the **** is going on so he can prepare for the season. All this Barry shit is doing nothing more than throwing a spanner in the works for our season preperation. Does MON factor Barry into our squad or not, id he goes he needs replacing and as SSN said, if Liverpool decide to leave it until the last day of the window then we are screwed. Im not pissed with the board over this farce, it 100% **** off with Barry, his rocket polisher agent and Liverscum for **** us around! Afterall they magically found £20mill for Robbie Keane who werent even in their plans 4 months ago!!!!!! If you read my post properly then thats what I have said in a roundabout way.
  17. The only thing i am not particularly happy with is the amount of players brought in, I feel the board need to put a bit more urgency into this. I am happy with the way the club have handled the Barry situation. MON nor the board would release a statement like this unless Barry agreed to the deadline. I think he is a disgrace and unprofessional. He was happy to sign that lucrative contract when it was offered so he should therefore honour it. The quicker he leaves the better!!!!
  18. Hi General, MON nor the board are to blame for this Barry saga. There is nothing in my eyes that you could have done. This is Barry throwing his dummy out of his pram and doing all he can to get the move he wants. I personally think good riddance. Sell him to Liverpool for £18 mill and tell him to hand in a transfer request if this has nothing to do with money. He has acted disgracefully and I truly hope the fans give him a rough time on his return. However, the board and MON do have control over transfers. For the past number of months we have been told deals are on the table, so my question is what happened??We are in a unique position where we do not have a squad like other clubs. I know you have heard this moan a million times and I know you have replied that MON can count etc. Buit the proof is surely in the pudding. Imagine the Browns going into a season with no quarterback or no wide receivers?? We are in that position. MON is a quality manager and I love him to bits but this is becoming ridiculous and is about to turn into a disasterous transfer window. Something needs to happen and very soon. We are going to play more games next season with a smaller squad? If 5-8 players are not added before the transfer window we are in for one disappointing season. I am a big fan of the board and MON and the work you have all put in behind the scenes has been spot on and I personally really appreciate what you have all done for the club. However we are a club, like others, that are judged on results on the pitch, and if nothing is done during this transfer window then we are no way going to maintain what we achieved last season, far from it. Thanks for taking time to read my post. Grievemeister
  19. The way that he has treated the club (the club thats made him the player he is today) i'd except the £15 mill and finnan but only if he hands in a transfer request:-)
  20. General, The progress that has been made has been immense, but for some reason I think you will have to realise that you are not going to please everyone. A majority of the fans (including myself) think the board have made massive strides to take us back to where we belong. We are a 'Work in Progress'. If some of these fans still do not trust the board then I am not sure what more you can do! Sometimes I feel that we have too much of a say. When you compare our club to others we are very fortunate to have a director who comes on the board to answer some of our questions.
  21. Hi General, I would just like to ask what is thbe situation in regards to Curtis Davies, have we now purchased him and has he signed a contract with the Villa?
  22. We've improved Year on Year, this will be a big summer for signings!!!!
