  1. Hugley ironic when Spurs were singing "Boring, Boring Villa" when they were thumping the ball up to Crouch at every opportunity. Fair play to the villans who were down there singing their hearts out for the boys. Best moment of singing was in retaliation to the Spurs "Boring.." song was when the villa boys jumped up and down singing "If you're all going to Wembley clap your hands.." non-stop for ages - very loud and very proud. Cant stand spurs or their fans. Was pleased with a point.
  2. I feel we have no chance without Petrov - the work that guy does for our team is immense. Without him we are far far weakened.
  3. Just mark that little **** defoe out of the game!! Dont let him shoot.
  4. Ill be getting smashed up in Clapham on the Saturday night - got mates who live there...and ill be out with a Man Utd fan (from Luton, naturally). Not sure about match day yet - will study this thread and make my decision. Will be getting the Bham - Marylebone train down on Saturday afternoon - anyone else doing this?? - be good to head down with some villans, singing on the train, sinking beers, toasting a great weekend ahead! Those people in the 'Quiet Zone' wont be pleased!!
  5. This does worry me. It seems that both defences are quite tight - so it will probably be decided by the quality of the strikers - which if we're honest Spurs have the edge on us for - Defoe is something we're missing - a pure goalscorer. Their strike partnership is better suited together than our own. However, id say our midfiled perhaps offers more of a goal threat then theirs. There isnt much between the two sides - but we need to asert ourselves more confidently then we did when we played them at our place.
  6. Im rarely confident when we go to WHL - always a tough game - as someone said above they create a lot of chances at home - and have barely lost there all season....although if Wolves can dig in and get a result then we can. We need to have the grit and determination as we did at Anfield and OT and we may get something - we're certainly capable. Plenty of noise form the villa boys please!
  7. Wouldnt it be good if managers used phrases like this in their pre match press conferences.
  8. Unfortunatley there have been too few and far between over the years. Redknapp seems to have the knack over MON (and Villa) and the games are usually close. Hope we can take some confidence from Fulham game into Spurs - if we avoid defeat then id be very pleased...a win and id be on top of the world. Is Lennon available for this? Hope not, never used to think this little bouncy clearing in the woods was any good - but he has improved alot this year. As usual we'll have to try and keep little and large quiet - but being strong at the back and our midfield will have to be up for the battle in the middle of the park to prevent any service being provided to their strikers. Ive been very pleased with Ashley Young in the last couple of games ,lets hope he can continue his recent good form. Be nice to get more villa fans down there for this one, heard there's not as many as usual going - im sure those who are going will ensure we make plenty of noise.
  9. Yeah I did! Its the black netting that makes it harder to see the ball hit the back of it for some reason! I thouhgt the keeper had saved it then took it back into the net with him.
  10. A dedicated facebook group to their "amazing run" and first game after it goes live they lose...and are still below us in the league. Desperate pricks.
  11. they "got at" him last season, absolutly tore the arse off him down the left resulting in him being subbed and mouthing off to MON and staff.
  12. Yet you still beat us 3-0 a few weeks ago. and are currently 2 points off top place with a game in hand - so I wouldnt be so worried if I was you.
  13. Be a shitter if he starts against us next week....cant see us getting anything down there - and the media will be all over this story like shit on a blanket.
  14. I got a very similar thing from a Man Citeh fan the other week - he was genuinley chuffed that his "depleated" team had overcome Stoke at home. When I asked, "how can Man City ever have a depleated team" he told me they had no strikers - which promted me to ask "who started up front then.." to which he replied in all sincerity...... ... ... ... (you'll love this) ... "Tevez and Robinho"
  15. We need to learn from when we played Arsenal the other week...our midfield got over ran at times (especially when Fabregas came on) so we should pack the midfield with 5 in there. As people have sugetsed id stick NRC (if fit) in there to ankle bite Fabregas. The teams thhat get the best results against Arsenal close them down straight away and give them no time on the ball. We must do this. At VP of late teams have done a pretty good job shutting us down, Stoke did it, Liverpool did it, even West Ham did it - I feel we may be getting too predictable at home - teams come and close Ashley Young and Milner down and stop them playing. Lets go 4-5-1.
  16. Anyone got any ideas about which pub(s) the villa boys will be in before the match??
  17. Chiltern Railway: B'ham (Snow Hill or Moor Street >> Marylebone) Super Off Peak RTN - Circa £21 As its weekend it classes as off peak so you are not restricted to any strict times. You may have to gte into London anytime after 1.30pm but thats fine (if you go on the saturday) then you can come back anytime you wnat. The ticket is also valid for a month so you can return home anytime within a month. If we win the cup I may well spend the next few weeks celebrating in London!!
  18. There's a real threat of some toilet humour being used in this thread.... *hopes for more puns*
  19. Whats really bizzarre is when you do a huge shit and the after you wipe your backside there is seemingly no stains on the tissue.... ...I believe this is called a Ghost Shit.
  20. Listen, I hate small heath as much as the next villa fan, but to completley rule them out being a threat is perhpas naive...they are sitting very close to us in the league and they have not fluked their way there - having watched them they are very tight at the back and although they dont have a very strong threat going forward - their results are speaking for themsleves - they've taken points off Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea. They aint going away this time and I think they'll be sustaining their premiership status for a while - they are a million miles away from getting a history like ours...even a squad of the same quality of ours. We should finish above them..but they are getting the media headlines right now, both locally and nationally - im fine with this to be honest...it will only increase the pressure on them and sooner or later they will be dropping points. With their recent results im finding myself looking over my shoulder at them - and if they do get above us this weekend then we've got 2 games in hand to get oursleves in the ascendency - which im sure we will. Im more concerned with our performances than theirs...just hope we shut the cocky **** up in April!
  21. Id've settled for a 5-a-side game against wigan with all 3,000 villa fans cheering the boys on. mY team would be as follows: Friedel Dunne Milner A. Young Gabby Seriously though, Wigan should be ashamed of themselves...after all the hard work that went into clearing the surrounding areas its the friggin undersoil heating that fails! I covered my car windscreen with a blanket over night and it was fine this morning as I made my way to wait for my coach upto wigan. Now obviousy a pitch is different to a windscreen, but you get the jist of what im saying - a bit of common sense was needed and for Wigan to not cover the pitch atall waqs just a ridiculous thing to do!
