  1. Guzan! haha, i dont even know what the bloke looks like so itll be a good reference for myself! seriously though, i am actually really looking forward to seeing more, Ruud Guillet is fantastic! But here's the dream - create the skysports studio with jeff stelling, merson, le tissier, thommo (if you must), charlie nicolas and of course chris kamara! Lets make it happen
  2. Here's an update fellas, Due to sever flooding the Leukaemia Bikeathon was cancelled, and I have now rearranged to complete the 28miles on Saturday 27th September at 8am. The reason for the early start is cos i want to complete it in time to get to the villa Having gone round the route the other week i could see the flooding but it was subsiding and to be honest it was passable(with one or two bridges etc) but understandable if there were 200 people riding throguh it would be chaos. But for myself and one or two other people im sure itll be fine. For anyone who's interested here's the route >> 1. Mere Hall 2. Shell Mill 3. Inkberrow 4. Earl's Common 5. Chequers Inn Crowle 6. Shernal Green 7. Mere Hall Thanks again for all your kind support - I wont let you down and will update you all after the event. Cheers
  3. you could honestly make this your career mate - doing some for all teams - and then moving on to celebrities, im sure you could make a mint on this sort of work. Its quirky and people like that - you could take it further and set scenerio's based on current affairs (even literall in some cases!) This is the new Madame Tussauds!
  4. LMFAO!! Harewood is hilarious!!
  5. wow! would love to be a fly on the wall at cadbury's factory in bourneville!
  6. HAHA! Brilliant, yes i remember this! Endless hours of fun. Also the crowd was animated (had about 10 characters multiplied all aorund the ground) and one of them, looked like he was permanently givign the rocket polisher sign. ...and that was before robbie savage was playing on it.
  7. As a child, Stephen King would read the obituaries in the papers and cross the names out of his local phone directory. that explains alot!
  8. Absolutly paddy, it just hasnt stopped p*ssing it down all week. Im having to decide on a similar route which isnt underwater but itll all work out. If anything, im more determined than ever to go ahead with the ride now, having raised so much money for a great cause. These things are sent to test us, and i know many people would probably be able to easily do 28miles, but for me it will probably feel like the tour de france, i did 12 miles the other day to inkberrow and that knackered me out! (hanbury does have some killer hills!!) so if anything the cancellation will give me a bit more time to get more training in.
  9. Hi lads, here's an update - unfortunately the event scheduled for this sunday has now had to be cancelled due to severe flooding in the area. I was absolutly gutted when i heard this, however i am not letting this dampen my spirits (excuse the pun) as i shall still be honoring my intentions a promised and will complete the 28mile ride through north worcestershire, the only difference being i may be alone instead of having a couple of hundred people who were going. Im been so touched by the support of everyone who has very kindly sponsored sponsored me and have currently raised over £1, 200 with my online website (i still have a couple of hundred pounds to claim from my paper form) which i am bowled over by! I will keep you all informed of the re-arranged date for when i am to complete the cycle, which im intending will be before the end of this month! Fingers crossed for the floods to clear and for some good weather! I wont let you down! Jonjo
  10. Absolutly mate, ive raised £400 in less than a week - im very impressed wnd touched by the kindness of many people (a fair few of which are on here). I didnt know what to put with regards to a target at first, but as my targets have been smashed ive increased them bit by bit! There's also some more money to come from people who arnt computer friendly or dont like putting bank details into websites, which is completely understandable - so im hoping for even more! Gonna practise this weekend too, to get some more miles under my belt.
  11. of course, most likely of me breathing out of my arse!! haha Cheers for your support nath and ian, much appreciated lads!
  12. Thanks alot paddy, appreciate it. ill chase you up if i havnt received anything in the next couple of weeks, cheers. The race is starting at Mere Hall in Hanbury and the 28 mile route is as follows, l;eaving Mere Hall and heading to... 1. shell mill>>2.inkberrow>>3.earls common>>4.chequers inn crowle>>5.shernal gree>>5.mere hall To be honest out of the list i only know inkberrow, but i did 17.5 miles (on my first practise run ever) arounf upper bentley, feckinham, handbury etc - and must say with the sun shining it was a great ride.
  13. Mate, the fact you have gone out of your way to give something atall to me shows what a decent guy you obviously are. Many thanks, it is gratefully received i can assure you.

  16. Hi all, just wanted to be a bit cheeky and appeal to your good natures. I am taking part in the North Worcestershire leukaemia 26 mile bikeathon on september 14th 2008 in order to raise some money for leukaemia research. Without wishing to put a sob story onto you all, for those of you who don't know - i was struck down with leukaemia in december 2006 and had a pretty poor prognosis - and was subseqently immediately put down as someone who definately needs a bone marrow transplant. So after 6 months of chemoptherephy (alot of it in an isolated room) , i was transferred from Worcester Royal Hospital to Birmingham QE to have my stem cell (bone marrow) transplant which meant that i was isolated and under intense monitoring for 4 weeks whilst having extremely powerful and destructive chemotherephy and radiotherephy in order to receive my donated cells (from a german donor). Anyway, since the transplant last july (2007) i have since been recovering at home and am still not working, although am feeling ready for that now - im having constant tests at the QE which are getting less frequant as time goes on and i am in a complete remission (thank God) and feeling great and was especially pleased that i was able to purchase my season ticket again this year - after having to miss alot of last year through my illness. I am doing this bikeathon because i know that with the money raised it WILL go to a good cause and give more people a chance of surviving this dreadful disease. Any donations, no matter how big or small will be gratefully accpeted - you may not realise how much you are helping people with leukaemia with your sponsorship money - it does make a difference, trust me. Thanks for taking the time to read this. For those of you who wish to sponsor me please click here ps, for those who are unable to donate money then remember you could always donate your blood!
  17. absolutly, i agree - wasnt meaning to give gabby a hard time over his interview techniques - you either have it or you dont i feel - and as you rightly say Gabby is best doing his talking on the pitch. We all have strengths and weaknesses i guess, but it does make me smile when i hear Gabby's interviews.
  18. General, any chance of getting some tv screens for the concourse area of the noth stand lower? I was quite looking forward to getting inside the ground and chilling out by watching the screens showing the live sky game, but there wasnt any anywhere. I realise that this particular area was the old away end but it is now for villa fans only and would make the matchday (and in particular the pre-match) experience just that bit more enjoyable. Cheers
  19. Surely Randy can give you a blackberry cant he general? 8)
  20. Yes id gladly keep the best player we have please. However... An analagy if you will.. This feels very much like my missus telling me she wants to leave me for an apparently more handsome man who can offer her things that i cant (flashy car, nights at the opera, trips to europe every couple of weeks). Now things have been unsettled between us for a while, it started with me hearing one or two rumours some months back so i decided to sit down wth her and have a talk about this - to which she told me that she did indeed fancy this handsome bloke and wants to leave me for him - however she has been playing silly begars with me for a few months now as due to my dissapopintment at her recent revelations about our relationship i decided to see how much this handsome guy actually wants her by setting a specific date whereby if this handsome bloke sends a text msg saying he is going to come and collect her then ill have to let her go - but she seems somewhat unsure about things, and her parents are (who hate me) are playing a huge part in organising their beloved daughter's love life - they are in constant contact with him trying to pursuade him to send this text. However this handsome guy has recently acqured himself another love interest in the form of a pretty irish girl who was working in london, although she was once working up in the west midlands - this chap had no hesitation in pursuing her and sending a text for the irish bird - but he is reluctant to pay 25p text msg cost in order to acquire my missus. My missus has been deliberating this decision all summer and to be perfectly honest its breaking my heart, ive only ever treated her well and we were all getting on great but she has had her head turned by the handome guy's money along with the constant pursuading from her parents. But when i speak to her and tell her that i aim to earn more money very soon in order to give her the lfestyle she wants, she seems like she may believe it, but then after we'd agreed a meeting for the handsome chap to come and collect her, the agreed time and date had passed and we'd all agreed she was going to stay with me. I went and told all my friends and everything, even got the local news involved as we'd agreed. But behind my back her parents had run off to the handsome bloke and told him that she desperatly wants to be with him - so my whole world has been flipped upside down in a day, and now ive had to admit that perhaps im not going to be able to keep my girl - but then as i try and get on with my life and meet new girls, she's still here, wearing my clothes, speaking with my friends etc and its killing me, all the local people are gossiping about it - i just want this to end. Now ive heard that apparently this handsome chap is saying he cant afford to stump up the text msg fee and although he apparentyl still wants her he isnt happy with the price - utter bollocks, so much for him giving it the big "i am". What a clearing in the woods. So now it seems that there may be a slight chance that she will, afterall stay with me, but i heard this last week then it all changed so whats to stop that happening again?! And now im left thinking, even if she does stay will she perform (in the bedroom) will she be as commited as she has been since we started dating 10yrs ago, does she still care about me or will she still be thinking of him when she's with me?? One things for sure, either way i just cannot wait for the dating deadline august 31st to come, so all this can finally blow over.
