  1. If you live so close then get your ass to the ground with a hair dryer!
  2. Its only a few minutes walk away mate - Red Robin will be full of villa singing as usual especially as there's buggar all to do around in wigan, the weather will ensure that fans get up early and...villa fans love the piss!
  3. Hope so, the opening day was atrocious - we must atone for this. Im expecting nothing more than a very tough encounter - I dont think looking at their past results will mean much to how this game will go...or in fact any game. We were awful against Wolves, and got beat by teams such as West Ham and Blackburn away so we have no right to expect a win here. Despite Wigan having some shaky results they have also beaten Chelsea so can raise it on their day. We need to get back to winning ways in the league - hopefully our win in the cup last week will spur us on for a performance tomorrow. The difference being this year is that every team can beat anyone - and this has shown - henc ewhy its so close at the top, middle and bottom of the league - It says something about this season when im now expecting Blues to take something from Man Utd tomorrow. I expect to see the same side that faced Liverpool start tomorrow.
  4. Just seen on SSN they were going round the prem grounds speaking of the conditions. All games seem to be on as it stands - but for the Wigan game they stated that the pitch is fine (Wigan are having to train on it as their training ground ) but access to the surrounding areas remains a concern.
  5. How much are your trains? Cheapest I can find is £35 Return
  6. ****!! After all the palava of getting blackburn tickets, its solds law that the game gets cancelled and rearranged for a date I cant make. Although ill be flying out to New York on the thursday afternoon...im still gutted to be missing this! Ive got a horrible feeling that on Thursday afternoon my flight will be cancelled due to snow and ill miss both the first leg of semi final and the trip to NYC!!
  7. All apart from Ashley Young obviously! (typical ridiculous news spin)
  8. You've pretty much nailed the lyrics mate!
  9. Id be getting Petrov, Dunne or Milner to get stuck into Fabregas and rough him up from the start - 'cos if he gets playing then we will be in trouble.
  10. Id sooner place my genitals up a beehive then drive and park in London.
  11. im my experience mate the drayton is the main away pub, but the Ashburton (previously Lord Nelson) is predominantly away fans and is easier to get a beer in. Better sing song in the drayton but its far from dead in the Ashburton as well gonna be down there between 10-10.30 so hopefully these pubs open early otherwise ill have to make do with a few tinnies Nice one - ill head to the drayton. If its rammoed in there then it'll be cans of carling outside the pub - just hoping the boys will be singing villa songs in the pub to let London know we're here!
  12. Anyone know if the bromsgrove or redditch coaches are running for this one?
  13. You think of Richard Dunne in the shower?
  14. Your message inspired me to also "vote for the one I hope"...
  15. So is it definitley the Ashburton or Drayton for the away pubs? Anyone been before - what's the banter like?
  16. This. Stoke made it very difficult for us today - from the off. Fair enough they didnt play midweek so were well rested - but they marked Milner out of the game. The postitve this season is that despite teams now realising Milner's class and subsequently try to shut him down - we have Ashley Young and Downing causing havoc too - so as an attacking force we have many options. Last seaon in the second half the the campaign we stuggled to create much when teams put two men on Ashley Young. Hopefully we can keep digging out results like this when needed. Saturday was very tough - but we were resiliant and at times kept the ball very well. Great move for our goal and as much as Heskey has imporved lately (and deseredly starts) we would not have scored that chance if Carew wasnt playing. A great header by big John. Stoke showed that they can not only stop teams playing but can pass it around a bit themselves...and may have got a draw if it wasnt for that fantastic block on Tuncay from Luke Young. Is there many better sights then seeing all our defenders throwing their bodies on the line for the villa?
  17. ...yet dresses like an 8 year old going to his first game on match days.
  18. People are lazy...so opting out is "more effort" then to simply decline due to the very thought of donating organs. More lives will be saved with an Opt out system.
  19. Ok, you've commented 3 times on this thread, changing your prediction twice. Make your **** mind up ffs. Calm down Hitler!
  20. What a **** goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great performance all round - defended fantastcially when needed, every player in the back 4 willing to throw themselves on the line for the villa - that is what we have needed for a very long time! Gabby and Heskey didnt stop running all game - excellent workrate. Great to continue the momentum with another win!
  21. Message for all the fans travelling up to The Stadium of Light...... ...don't take any inflatable beach balls!
  22. 4-5-1 would be our best chance of getting a result here id say.
  23. problem with resting him is that it breaks his 206 odd game streak. I don't think that would enter in to O'Neills thinking. If he thought Guzan would be better for this game, he would play him. That said, I still expect Friedel to play, and Guzan to be putting the shit up Blackburn in all the cup games very soon. Friedel made an outstanding save from Berbatov on Saturday - showing how great he is. There's zero chance of him being dropped and rightly so.
  24. I agree with what's been said - its important we grind out a result here - and it will be a grind. The Mackams are very strong at home so this will be a huge battle. If we can avoid defeat in anyway then id be very happy, for momemtum's sake.
  25. Guys, I would love to hear an indepth account from fans who went? Im after songs that were sung, banter that was had, funny stories etc - you know the stuff! Im sure a load of you went out on the piss in manc afterwards! It looked like we went crazy at the end of the game - as if we'd won the cup - it bloody felt like it! Just wish id gone now - having been a few times before and seen us continually turned over - this was fantatsic! So for those who were there....tell us more?
