  1. OK, I give in.... Jesus H CHRIIIIIIISSSSSSST! I can't believe how frickin' STUPID some SO CALLED Villa fans are! What absolute brainless cretin voted no?! This thread makes me more ashamed than the time my mum caught me knocking one off over the Kays catalogue underwear section! Of course we should keep him, there isn't another manager in the UNIVERSE who would be enticed by the thought of earning £3m at one of the biggest clubs in the best league in the world. David O'Leary was right, we are FICKLE!

    Running

I'm thinking of taking up running, as it's the only sport that doesn't involve a degree of hand/eye coordination. Can anybody suggest a decent pair of trainers to get going with, and any other tips etc, as knowing me, I'll probably stick at it for a couple of days tops left to my own devices.
  3. Are people not tired of posting "OMFG who are teh haterz who posted no?!" yet?
  4. Well I certainly wouldn't have expected any less given the money spent.
  5. The top 4 don't develop talent, are you sure? How old were Fabregas, Rooney and Ronaldo when they signed for Arsenal and Man U? Curtis Davies is also 24, and has played in the top 2 divsions for the last four years. He's not exactly some raw teenager like Macheda.
  6. The argument was that we should look at the case of Curbishley as a reason for not changing managers. I just gave the opposite view that sometimes it has an opposing effect. As for "the money he was given for further investment, alot of managers could of done the same" isn't that what most people are saying we're not allowed to say about O'Neill? Didn't we spend more than just about any other team in Europe this summer?
  7. An yet...there you are on another thread slagging off Curtis Davies and Milner, our two most expensive players that cost a total of £22m between them, and yet you say one of them "has looked very average and at times the pub player he compared himself to on his debut" and the other is "painfully slow and very rarely beats his man, some shocking touches also. I'm not sure if he'll get any better either, his biggest weakness is his pace and it's not as if he will get any faster" So if our manager signs two players who you clearly think aren't very good, surly it's not beyond the realms of possibility that another manager would have spent £22m more wisely?
  8. On the other hand, Liverpool ditched Houliier and Benitez won them the Champions League in his first season, ditto Chelsea with Mourinho.
  9. So you don't think a multi-billionaire like Randy would have employed a decent manager? There wasn't another manager in the whole of world football who could have got us to 6th place in the league? But MON is the one who has taken us to where we are at the moment, and so he is the man that deserves the credit for that. Maybe we could have got some other manager and maybe Mr AN Other would have got us to the same place, fact is it's O'Neill that's actually done it. Why are some people so loathe to give him credit where it's due? I'm not. I think he's done very well for the most part. He's made mistakes, but I hope he learns from them and takes us onto the next level. I just think the people who think he's the best manager we could possibly ever hope for are utterly ridiculous.

  11. Yes. He's cemented our place in the top 6, next season has to be the one where he proves that he can make the team and squad last the season and improve on all fronts. He needs to improve his record in the transfer window, particularly with regard to the defence which is pants. However from an attacking point of view we can be a joy to watch, so as long as we hang on to Ashley Young and Carew and buy a central defender of some pedigree, I think we'll have a decent season. If I was O'Neill I'd be looking to spend up to £15m to £20m on a new central defender, it's THAT important to us. The full backs are fine, and Davies has shown he's OK next to Laursen, leaving Cuellar and Knight as the back ups.
  12. I can imagine that meeting a paladin and a Death Knight in the arena could be a teensy bit challenging!
  13. That's the thing, Blizzard just made the game ridiculously easy to play, it takes no skill whatsoever these days.
  14. It's just one of the many things they did to bugger the game up. You've got retri paladins for example, doing unbelievable damage, with the added bonus of plate. I used to love fighting paladins as it was a real test of skill. They had little DPS but great survivavbility, and so it took ages and a lot of skill for one or the other to win. Now all world PvP is just about who gets the first couple of hits in. If I see a mage or lock, if I attack first I'll wtfpwn them in aqbout two seconds. If they attack me first, then it's the same outcome but in reverse. They made all the classes too similar and too easy to play.
  15. Too right Nays. Used to love real world PvP. The evenings when we used to take over Chillwind were pure class.
  16. Shouldn't April Fool's Day posts at least be a little bit subtle?
  17. Have cancelled my subscription, will run out in three weeks.
  18. Think I'm nearly at that point too, though I might see what Uldaman is like before I take a break again. Naxx feels like Karazhan did, ie a boring grind and there isn't much else to keep me interested atm.
  19. That reminds me, wasn't there a guy in the Dashers that used to always let his younger brother use his account and said younger brother would pretend to be the Dasher guy? Only he was very bad at it. Yes, there was. God there have been some arseholes in the various guilds over the years.
  20. *checks* 123 days, 4 hours, 9 minutes. Jesus.
  21. I'm almost too scared to check.
  22. Mine's Risso. L80 enhancement Shaman. On Naxx 25 bosses where there's not a lot of running about, not many people get anywhere near my DPS. Oh and I've never levelled an alt past L30.
  23. 3. If O'Neill turned down players who he didn't think would "fit" with us, and THEN signed Emile Heskey, he wants his arse kicking from here to Christmas. As for the defence, well, words fail me. A more shambolic display I have rarely had the displeasure to see. 4. You might not have thrown in the towel General, but unfortunately it appears that the players have. More arse kicking required there in my opinion.
  24. What's the point in having a thread with just a poll, and a seperate discussion thread?
