    I do wonder how we fix the centre half problem? Part of me thinks having someone read in on the Premier League (Konsa) alongside Torres might work, but the other part of me thinks two Spanish speakers in there might make communication and positioning better. I am yet to see Diego Carlos show he can lead a defence in the Premier League either before or after injury. He is a real gamble and one Emery needs to work

    I don’t even read into Newcastle being better than us and being some Champions League level wonder team, we were so ordinary today, across the pitch, that they didn’t have to be anything other than organised. You cannot carry that many players off the pace and expect to get anything from the game Between poor officiating and individual mistakes we gifted them 3 goals, then got exposed by pace in behind with 2 centre halves that have spent next to zero time with each other. Last time I will say it, just about everything that could go wrong today did, we looked off the pace, clunky and lacking in bravery on the ball, yet still created 3/4 good chances.

    No, it’s just bed wetters venting. Have at it, see what it solves. Fact is, pulling individuals up doesn’t do anything. This team was exceptional last year and we have bought well, ser ot as what it is, an anomaly. If we are still making that level of mistakes in a few weeks time then worry, but judging by Emery’s face, we won’t be!

    Good to see the bed wetting kicking off after one game! First game of the season and we were 10% off all over the pitch. Mings is a big loss and Bailey was awful today, couldn’t hold the ball and fell over when he lost it. However, it’s one game and hopefully an anomaly that we put right quickly. Just calm your jets!

    Blokes a liability, palmed the ball straight to Wilson for his goal then 5 minutes later passes directly to a Newcastle player on edge of 18 yard box. We cannot go into next year with this guys as a number 2.
