  1. This reads to me as good at finding emergent talent in the £3-15m bracket and selling for profit, less success when spending “big money”. Also the “sympathetic introduction to the club” could explain a little why Torres is taking so long!
  2. That only became an issue once their goals dried up, which coincidentally was when Ramsey got injured! Losing the play off semi over 2 legs by a single goal doesn’t sound like defensive frailty, sounds like they couldn’t score
  3. To be fair, not sure what Gordon does, every time I see him play he is woeful
  4. You keep saying “most read with blah” as if English is second language to me! Personally I would say, stop speaking in gobbledygook
  5. I have no idea what any of this means or how it applies to a transfer thread
  6. I would go 4, lacking in effort and evidence.
  7. Good post and agree with 99% of it, Ramsey getting injured ruined Boro’s season, they were lacking in invention without him. For me, I would try to get Archer a loan in the Premier League, Forest would be perfect (rate Steve Cooper), maybe a Luton. I think he will score goals as he has raised his game everywhere he has been so let’s give him a run elsewhere and see how he does. Best I can say is that Newcastle burnt £40m on Gordon and I wouldn’t swap him for Archer!
  8. The other consideration is personal development, Emery has credit in the bank from where he has taken OK/decent players up one or two levels. If I am 22/23 and wondering how I make my mark, I would look at Emery as someone who could truly unlock my potential. I think this is why Ferrari Torres sees us as an option, he knows he is in safe hands
  9. Another that has pace, technical ability and appears to be able to play all across the frontline. Seems we have a mandate for the type of forwards we are looking for
  10. Said it before, genuine raw pace is an attribute you cannot coach, the rest I think Unai can develop, particularly at that age. If the price was right, he would give us what we thought we were getting with Baillie, the ability to turn a defence on the counter (ala Leeds counter!)
  11. I guess the difference is “I don’t think he is an Emery player” as opposed to “he is not an Emery player” One is a view, the other a statement or fact.
  12. Why don’t you let Emery decide what are his players?
  13. That music is an affront to the ears, but this boy has a higher ceiling than that Gresford fella
  14. TalkShite linking us to Maddison, that’s a new one?
  15. My exact thoughts, bonkers. Only made worse by some nutter on Twitter trying to say Smith Rowe is a better player that JJ
  16. I wouldn’t worry, he’s probably wandering round the garden looking for the point!
  17. I think he has tried too hard since day one, needs to take the pressure off himself to “do something” every time he gets the ball. Hopefully a full preseason will help (all that said, still better than £80m Antony at United)
  18. Thanks again for proving my point! Oh the irony!
  19. And if you are not getting my point by now, you are not going to so no point going on
  20. Absolutely not! I am annoyed at you dictating to everyone else what we/they should do based on your view. I don’t give a monkeys what peoples views are on Pedro, but I think they should be able to make them themselves without forced views or ridicule. Thats my opinion of course!
  21. At the risk of repeating, people peddling their thoughts as facts is getting a little repetitive
