  1. I said no, mainly 'cause the bigger part of me still have faith in him. But it's getting smaller, that part. I'm a patient man, but it's not an endless patience.
  2. I'm with ChrisV on this one. And I voted no. And I don't think Hitz will make it. He has ha sweet left-foot, can work pretty hard, but really nothing else. Too slow and no vision. Vass, well, 4 goals so far this season isn't bad of course, but still no.
  3. Funnily enough I somehow have to agree with you on the left foot. Don't know why. I just feel the same. Anyway I still stick to Barry. He should take them until he misses one. In a "real" game. I saw his miss against GAIS in the pre-season and it wasn't good, but in the league he's stuffed them well and untill he misses he shall take them IMO. Then it can be KP after himn. Or Nobby. Or Baros. Not JPA.
  4. The players we have now might not be good enough to play both entertaining and win enough games. Notice the word "might". So what would you want most? Us playing like Bolton and going places or playing some entertaining stuff bot not going anywhere, maybe just down and even longer behind teams like Spurs and Newcastle? I think it can be hard if we don't get some new players in pretty soon to play entertaining and still win enough games.
  5. Hasn't he been linked with us before? Hasn't his Manure career been questioned before? Think he would be a good addition as a central defender, but I'd rather see a central defender able to play to the left too.
  6. Hm, I don't say that he will be good, but again, one game? Are you judging him after one game?
  7. Maybe not instrumental but he was there and he took the pass as he should do. He both came in to position and he found Hughes. Don't say that you have to cheer him up just because of that, but you can't take him out and say he's finished either. As I said, I think fought pretty well. It's not just up to him. Still, KP was of course the better of them by miles, but still. This is my 200th post. Does this mean I'm in the reserve team now?
  8. I'm with you on this one, Bickster. JPA didn't have that bad game on Saturday as everyone seems to think. Almost everyone. He didn't have a perfect game, not even very good, but he fought hard for the balls up there against defenders tall as that tower in Paris. He didn't win so many, but at least I think he tried. Please, don't judge him after one game that he didn't happen to score. He won't score every game. No-one will. Give him a break and let him prove himself. I personally think he and KP will start on OT even if Baros signs in time, and then we'll see.
  9. I agree that the idea is not bad, but as you said, opinions. Still, I'd prefer the one I said before, namely JPA in front of Baros and KP and Solano behind them. IMO. Still, I don't think DOL will go for any of them. :?
  10. Not sure that I agree. Think Solano and Berger both are better playmakers than JPA. A lot better.
  11. Well, it's interesting idea of attacking and maybe it could make us some goals, but how would it be with the defending part? Think we'd be a little weak at the back. If we not play, say, DJ, Berson and McCann, but that would mean Solano and Berger on the bench. Maybe a 4-3-3 with JPA as a target-player, Baros and KP on the flanks, Solano as an attacking midfielder and McCann and DJ covering up. Or Berson or Davis or someone else instead of DJ. That place is pretty hard competition for.
  12. Well, a little hasty I voted for Kevin and Baros, but while thinking about it I would like to see Kevin with JPA again to begin with. Think Baros maybe will need a little time to settle in, and then we may see. It's a hard question, but hopefully they'll all be good and it will be the matter of the form of the day that will decide. A hard question after only one game and you haven't even seen Baros in a Villa-shirt yet. You might never do it. Even if I honestly think we will.
  13. Hm, tough call beteween Atkinson, mostly 'cause he scored probably the best goal ever on VP, Deano, well, he was Deano and was a pure finishing talent. Maybe our best finisher since Platt, and always a happy face, and, oh, that tongue of his and Yorke of course. And I'd go for Yorke in the end. But for Deano, he didn't make his debut against Liverpool. He made his home-debut against Pool but his real debut was against Leeds scoring a goal that was disallowed 'cause of offside, an arguable offside. Wrong?
  14. Would like to wait 'till the window is closed, but so far I've been a fool. I voted yes. I'm a fool, it looks like. Still I stick to my opinion that it's not only the sum of the money spent but on who they're spent. £7m on Crouch is just waste of money, while £0m on Davids, not regarding signing on fee, is a good buy. Still I'm disappointed so far. Very disappointed. Baros and a good CD would make me feel less disappointed. Think a CD should be more than decent to please me.
  15. Who are Notlob? :-S But I do agrre with you. Nakata would be an excellent signing. But I think he's out of our wage-limits, unfortunately.
  16. 5th. One would like to say 4th or 3rd thinking that this team should be better than that we have today, so if this shouldn't finish better than 5th the one we have now don't stand much of a chance of reaching the CL. Luckily football never is that logical. Who's the manager, btw? Didn't we vote for a manager?
  17. Think he'll be ours. Seems to me that the only thing that can spoil it now is our board, read our beloved chairman. But that threat is not to be underrestimated.
  18. Agree. Think he could be worth the money. From what I've seen he's very talented. That could end the story about someone named like a whole footballteam.
  19. No, really don't know.
  20. No, really don't know.
  21. Hm, something I've missed? All I remember about him is when he played for England and was pretty good and then I saw that he played for Villa. Did he mess up? :-S
  22. Wouldn't say that. Maybe that Big Ron is "the winner" of the managers but as far as I'm concerned he only brought in 3 of the players in the starting 11. Sure there were more playing under him of them, but many of them played under Taylor too, didn't they? Yorke, Daley, Mellberg, Taylor (or did he leave before Taylors second spell?), JPA, and so on and so forth. Still a nice little poll with an interesting result. And of course one could ask for players from earlier eras but there would be a bit too many to vote on maybe. I mean between the EC-winners and Taylors first Era there are plenty of players too. Players like McMahon, Steve Hodge etc. So I guess that the limit was pretty good.
  23. Why have I missed this thread. It's one I've been looking for. Soory if I've used other threads wrong before. And as I said in one of them: Have anybody heard anything about a player in Levante called Felix Da Ettien? He's a real pacey defender and I think he can play both on the right and in the middle. He's a real highclass defender. I've seen him a couple of times on TV and he looks excellent. Anyone knows if he's still in Levante? Could be a new Mellberg as they too went down. Also, couldn't J Cole be available for a loan now that Chelski got both Robben and Duff? Is it too much to just ask?
  24. I think we'll get 2. Maybe not someone that we really want, but still 2. My hopes are Saha, if Oqen goes to Manure, and maybe this Jagielka-guy. There's another one I'd like to see in a Villa-shirt nameley Felix Da Ettien playing in Levante, if not already sold. He's a rella pacey and technical skilled defender. Real good from those games I've seen him playing. I'd be really excited if we sign him. He can play CD or a real offensive RB. But that's just wishes too. I've got plenty of those. :-S Still I think we'll get 2 more signings.
