    Tried to take sting out of game but it’s backfired. We were 1.0, we were never going to protect that all game, we should have gone there attack minded.

    CL football would be great for the club financially and to attract top players. Imagine some of the big games we’d have at Villa park. Also it’s what the owners are aiming for.

    Been shit mate . Lille haven’t even been that good we’ve just allowed them to dominate and frighten us . I didn’t think we’d win this competition anyway and that was even before I’d witnessed some of the dreadful performances we’ve put in prior to this game.

    Anyone would think they are all over us. Considering the apparent onslaught from Lille and their fans I’m not impressed . We just need to show up and start playing and we go through .

    Our performances in Europe have been mostly very lethargic and today is no different. Not sure why that is but that’s why I don’t think we’ll win this competition. The best team doesn’t always win the cups . Hopefully we can find our way through as the game goes on.

    All 3 have small fanbases and once the novelty factor of the prem wears off teams like that see a big drop off with away support . More money for Villa because they are charging a lot more than 30 quid.
