  1. It's foolish to speculate. However I will always think looking back at this ****, we could have done more this window. The chairman could have. The manager could have. This season hurts :'(
  2. Perhaps, but I'm 100% sure he weren't even in for him. Also he lived in the Midlands, so it wouldn't be too foreign for him and we know he can't be on big wages.
  3. I just can't believe that. I'm not being stupid and screaming conspiracy, but if I was in his position I would spend night and day looking for that player. As somebody mentioned earlier, I fail to see how there wasn't one affordable defender who fit the bit (I know I've been banging on about it but Scharner). Also, to this I'm going to humour him. Lambert is an ex player who did his badges, which means he has the profile to become a professional manager. I'd be willing to put my neck out and say there are hundreds of brilliant coaches out there in the world, who don't have the profile and therefore won't ever get a big job. It's as simple as that.
  4. He's so weak. I think he could be great in Spain or France.
  5. This is possibly the worst argument I've ever heard.
  6. Please don't say this is aimed at me. I feel I've been quite rational and I'm enjoying the debate. I still feel that his stubbornness is a factor in all this. He probably felt that he didn't need a CB with Dunne coming back, but then Dunne had a setback. Then it was all rush. What I don't understand more than anything, is why did we wait so long to sign anyone. We crashed out of 2 cups, lost at home twice to relegation rivals and yet we didn't change our position. Why was there money (however little it was) available at the end. I know people will say wages, but I'm sure we could be confident we could get rid of Warnock, who was probably on more than Hutton. The whole thing just stinks
  7. I feel sorry for Vlaar. I feel like he has to cover for Clark so much it's affecting his game. Obviously the corners are his fault, but at least he gives a shit about it.
  8. A loanee from the MLS. They're on nothing wages. A Championship defender doing well. Defence is a position where there are some great players in the lower leagues, because you can be technically awful and be amazing. I'm surprised that he didn't look to the lower leagues for a CB in the summer. Some great ones down there who won't get a chance up here like Peter Clarke or someone in the same vein. A free agent (a la Scharner).
  9. Tuesday night was not honest. He straight up said 'it wasn't the system', when it 100% was. Every man and his dog could see that. We changed system and played well. He refuses to talk to journalists, he tonight answered petulantly again. He is a stubborn, arrogant fool so it's not that wild to think that after his squad quality being questioned, he's sticking with it. He could have got a CB in. I'm sorry, he just could have.

For me it showed the opposite.
  11. Then, and I might be being unreasonable, he didn't try bloody hard enough. He has a reputation of palming things off onto other people (Blaming the players for Newcastle, blaming the finances) so I don't know what to believe anymore.
  12. And I know what's coming. 'We don't know what Wigan are paying him'. If we can't keep up with Wigan financially then we're even more screwed than we thought.
  13. No. I was just stating that even though 'we couldn't afford a CB', there were affordable options out there.
  14. Bollocks. Sharner is the experienced CB we need and he's back at Wigan. For what we saved with Hutton and Warnock, we could have got an MLS defender on loan. He just had no idea on targets and now is blaming everything but himself. Same as usual.
  15. It's a shame our club have accepted fading into obscurity. Who would have thought 2 years ago, we couldn't compete with Stoke financially. Baffling.
  16. Didn't do anything right though either. Complete non-entity.
  17. Utter shit. Gave the ball away constantly. Got in the way of other players. Actually managed to make us look worse.
  18. Nah he won't We took a punt on him and we'll be fine playing in the Championship, considering he hasn't ever played in that division.

We lost at home to Southampton, Wigan and Newcastle. There's no way we'll beat West Ham. Tactically shit.
  20. Hurts that we couldn't get Sissoko who is making a massive difference to Newcastle because our tight-fisted word removed of an owner won't fork out. Now we have this guy, who might come good but he won't make an immediate impact.
  21. Bollocks. Vlaar and KEA came 2nd in their league last year. Benteke was top 2/3 with Genk. Lowton got to the playoff final with Sheff Utd. Westwood went up etc. It's down to the manager and the chairman for me. Manager is awful tactically and RL couldn't run a business if his if depended on it.

We couldn't afford the wages of a central defender? Sharner went to Wigan. Won't be on much. Could have got somebody in on loan for the wages of Dawkins/Warnock/Hutton Excuse after excuse for complete idiocy on all accounts within the club, and we're going to go down. Simple as that. I hate most of the players. I hate Lambert and most of all I hate Lerner. **** word removed.
  23. I'm guessing Paul Sharner isn't on high wages? Stop making excuses for your utter ineptitude you utter word removed.
