Lambert made a mistake only signing one centre half. He made a mistake not signing a defensive midfielder but overall his signings are good and he could only make so many signings. For the money spent I would look at Lamberts signings so far as: Good Guzan Lowton Westwood Benteke Potentially Good Vlaar - He would certainly be in the 'Good' section were it not for his injury. If he can prove he isn't injury prone then this is a good signing Bennett - Again has had a few injuries but he was just before we signed him, surprised we didnt take non-injured Aaron Cresswell instead. That said, he's starting to show something lately and could prove to be a good signing, but he looked poor at the start of the season Poor KEA - Feel like i'm being slightly harsh here as I was impressed in his first few appearances but he hasn't looked good since but it has taken some very good players longer than 6 months to get used to the prem. I just feel like he can't tackle, he doesn't seem to be able to sprint as he's always ball watching and doesn't offer much. That said he is being played as a more defensive player than I think he naturally is. Maybe if we get a proper DM in we'll see a new KEA. Needs more time Bowery - not seen him play yet myself so not going to make a comment As such, Lambert has made some mistakes but he's earned my trust in the market and so long as his good signings continue to outweigh the bad he will continue to do so. But surely he know now that we desperately need to make up for the CB and DM he failed to sign in the summer.

Lichaj is out of contract at the end of the season and Stevens isn't good enough. Leaving us with just Lowton and Bennett. Cavanda can play either side and therefore can challenge both of those for a starting spot. Also Bennett is injury prone and both him and Lowton could suffer burn-out if they are left to it all season. Maybe we will see Cavanda in and Lichaj out?

Dont think it really matters when they started doing it. If our fans chant 'no respect m'lord' at any fans that dont join in, then one would hope all of our fans will join in with theirs

FourthOfficial is normally pretty reliable. Been doing it on twitter for a few years and is normally pretty spot on, not like the countless knobheads you get elsewhere on twitter. However I would be surprised if us or Southampton are spending £13m on any one player, especially somebody like Coutinho who, whilst quality, is hardly proven and hasnt been able to get a game recently. Maybe Euros? but even then its a lot of money. Very good player though...

Not exactly gospel but Transfermarkt says he can play across the back four, and you have to think if he is a rapid attacking fullback then he could play on either wing too. A versatile utility man to say the least. I love Matt Lowton and wouldn't want to piss him off as he's looked very much a Mr Consistent for us, which is fantastic at RB (which by the looks of it is Cavanda's natural position). Basically I really think Lowton could be our Leighton Baines (at Right Back). Cavanda could be a great option to fill at Left back for the moment and to have Bennett, Lowton and Cavanda fighting for the two fullback spots can only be good for us. (Personally dont think Lichaj or Stevens will make it with us). Really need an experienced centre back over another youthful inexperienced fullback though

True, if Gaston Ramirez can sign for Southampton, no reason we cant get a great signing like that too. That said i'd still be doubtful of Coutinho.

Need a decent win imo. If they get a draw they will have a huge lift as they will know that a repeat could take them to penalties. We need them to come chasing the game at Villa Park, knowing they have to throw everything at us because with Benteke, Nzogbia and Gabby we can counter that well and should see us ruin them. If they know they have to shut up shop they will do and if it gets to extra time/penalties I can see them taking it. Generally if Levy is willing to sell you a player it's a shit deal or your Utd/Madrid forcibly taking one of his stars off of him. So until we are up there with United or Madrid etc then a no from me to buying from Spurs too.

To be honest, I would play Guzan for the Home Leg vs Bradford and the Final* as dont you need 3 appearances to win a medal? Kind of feel like it would be harsh if the only bit of success we got this season was The Capitol One Cup and Guzan, who many could argue as our player of the season, was ineligible for a medal. Given has played vs Swindon, Norwich and Man City (and probably Bradford away) Guzan has played vs Tranmere. *If we get there.

Think Given will get all the Cup games bar the Final (if we get there). Other than that it's all Guzan imo, or at least it should be, until Guzan starts throwing them into our net he's earned his spot and theres no point dropping an in-form Goalkeeper.

Was expecting a horror-tackle going off of the severity of the injury but it just seems to snap as he lands from a jump. Bizarre. Must have absolutely killed though. Poor lads contract runs out at the end of the season too, he's gunna have a lot of work to do to get his career back on track after that.

Obviously wouldnt work but if there was a thread where supposed ITK's would have to post who/what their source is and only the Mods could see it then they could say 'yes' or 'no' to each one depending on the reliability of each source. That said you'll struggle to a) get people to divulge a real source b ) mods probably wont know who is/is not reliable. Or... a running counter of how many reliable ITK's you've posted. Everytime you post something claiming you've heard something has happened it gets marked as an ITK post. If it comes off and you were right you get 1 Reliability Point. If it doesn't you get 1 Unreliable Point. Then perhaps special 'ITK' tags for people who have posted say 10+ reliable ITK posts. And 'Dirty Lieing Bastard word removed' Tag for those who are overly unreliable. And until something is or is not confirmed the rest of us have a truce on the amount of abuse we give to anybody who is tagged as neither.
