  1. I must be the only one who doesn't rate Queresma. Whenever I have seen him play I have been far from convinced by his skill and ability.
  2. That argument doesn't wash with me really. Consensual sex is non existent in the animal world but that doesn't justify it in humans. The reason it doesn't is due to the higher intelligence levels of humans who have the power of reason which most animals don't have. Not that I am saying eating meat is wrong, just that the argument you give for doing it is no justification for me.
  3. Assuming you pass the exams on schedule that is about right. The only issues with it are the size and location of the firm you wish to work for. I know the one I currently work for do not take school leavers anymore.
  4. This is just rubbish. Your still at Uni so how do you know your youth ends when you start working? My experience is that I had a great time when I left school and started work because I had money to do so. As for earning a lot more that is bullshit as well. That's just the crap your fed to try and keep you in education. Most grads end up with averagly paid jobs and lacking in ambition or real work experience to have the balls to get out of them. You maybe able to do a 200 page thesis about the down turn in the market place, but in real life people don't want to read about it, they want to see you get out there and turn it round by grafting.(a word most students don't understand.) To be fair all the students posts sum up what Uni is. It's where dossers go that don't want to work. All the positives that have been posted about uni are the social life and ways to pick easy courses that don't start till the afternoon! Have a wash, soap dodgers. Stop listening to the levellers and go pay for your own upkeep! Whilst I appreciate where you are coming from on one issue as I in fact have said the same I think you are guilty of what you are accusing Danwichman of. I assume from the fact that you started work straight from school that you didn't go to Uni so how can you comment on it. The whole experience was great from a social angle, but I also learnt a heck of a lot. I have to say as well that of all the people I was at Uni with, they are all working towards good careers and are earning significantly more than national average. It's not like that for everyone I am sure but it was for me. In addition, your last comment is completely untrue. We pay fees nowadays and take out loans which are all paid back to the state. So we are paying for our own upkeep. I think you should only comment on what you have first hand experience of.
  5. Interesting question. I would like to know the answer to that too!
  6. There is nothing wrong with someone believing it to be wrong to eat animals, what is wrong is when people try to enforce beliefs and opinions on others. Eating animals is wrong for me!
  7. From my experience, that is not true at all!
  8. The last statement is very true but what I have to say is never doubt me as I am the King of Everything!
  9. And the cute little peas you eat? :winkold: A girl at work has a best friend who is a fruitarian actually. Can't understand how she is still alive.
  10. FWIW I don't think there is anything immoral or wrong with eating meat. It's just a personal choice as I do not like the idea of an animal dying to feed me!
  11. Bugger, I wondered whether I needed a degree to do that. Can anyone confirm/ elaborate on this please? It is not required. I have a degree and am ACA qualified but you can do it through the school leavers route. Basically, you would do the AAT (Accounting and Auditing Technician) qualification. Then after 2 years you can do top up papers. Once they are complete you can then do the ACA. I think you only have to do certain papers as well as the top up papers exempt you from some of the exams.
  12. I became a vegetarian 7 months ago after a couple of years of deliberation.
  13. I loved all 3 years at Uni. I would go back if I could and would advise anyone to go as the experience really is second to none. If you are thinking of doing accountancy then do a subject that has Business Finance and Business Management in it as this will get you exemptions. Business courses, from what people tell me, aren't usually packed with lectures so you have alot of free time.
  14. BOF, I don't think that "money is no object". I think we will make money available for the right players but that there will be some sort of cap on it. Bent would cost £12 million I think and Defoe is touted at £7 million. I doubt Bent would be worth the extra £5 million as I think if Defoe was given a good run in the side and played properly he would do extremely well. I would sign Defoe and use the remainder to sign other players.
  15. Darren Bent definitely but he is likely to cost close to double what Defoe would. I think if Defoe played every week he would be just as prolific as Bent though. Depends how much money is available though really. Although I really like Keane, I think out of these 3 he would be my 3rd choice.
  16. I knew you were joking Malc. Its a fairly accurate article. I would agree with much of what you say although one other priority for me is competition (rather than cover) for McCann. His absence usually results in us playing below par.
  17. Without sounding rude, it's not that astonishing given that their roles are non executive. Most non executives get paid very little. I am sure there are some options or warrants in there somewhere though! :winkold: Correct TT. What is astonishing is that the General, on behalf of Randy and the new board, takes time out to talk to us and keep us informed, something which the previous well paid board members probably never even considered. Once again General I thank you. And with that I wholeheartedly agree!

  19. Good point but the problem is that if they are currently playing for teams in Europe, would they leave in January? Then it obviously follows that if they aren't playing for teams in Europe, are they the kind of players you are alluding to?
  20. What if we signed him to partner Adriano? Would you still be disappointed. Seriously though, signing Earnshaw, however good he may turn out to be, would be ridiculed by the footballing public. Not that I care what people think, but I certainly see where you are coming from.
  21. Not sure if I would want Earnshaw. Whilst I was surprised Albion got rid of him, I think he is quite a hit and miss striker. Sometimes sublime and sometimes woeful. I would say he is a more prolific Vassell but less imposing. As long as the price is right it could be ok.
  22. Whilst I doubt your credibility GBA, I would love to sign Barton. Get Milner as well and we will seem so much stronger in midfield.
  23. General, I would personally suggest having a core team of permanent members. Then to get all fans involved, I would suggest a rotational arrangement whereby each month (or however frequent the meetings are) a small number of season ticket holders, members of supporters clubs etc... are invited to attend the meeting to get their opinions across. That should ensure that everyones voice is heard and that everyone feels part of it. Elaborating on this a little. I would send letters to all known fans by the club to guage interest in becoming involved in this as I am sure some will want to and some won't.
  24. gera? Not good enough for where we are now aiming. At the start of the season I would have said yes. Now we require better!
