  1. I would want the Ridge to stay but not fussed about Davis. He is less certain to become the quality player we had hoped. For versatility alone, Hughes could be worth keeping but I doubt he would get anywhere near the team unless we were crippled with injuries! I would sign a right back, centre back, left back, central midfielder and a striker. For example: Bardsley (if he proves himself), Distin, Baines, Barton, Bellamy. They would cost in my opinion: £3 million, Free, £4.5 million, £5.5 million, £8 million. That is £21 million. SWP could also be added to that for £10 million making £31 million. A move for someone like Reo Coker for about £6 million could alsobe interesting. I would then get rid of Samuel and Angel for a combined fee of £2.5million if we are lucky and if his injuries persist I would say goodbye to Sutton too. Hendire is as good as gone and Berger is likely to be off too. We also have to keep on the look out for good young talent!
  2. I can't believe MON and Randy haven't made any signings yet. There are only 7 months left until the transfer window closes!
  3. In other words, the type of deal that generally goes through at 11.59pm. Thats the one!
  4. Rocafella, we have Moore, Gabby, Carew, Angel, Sutton and Young if necessary to play up front. I can see Angel and Sutton leaving and then we may well need another striker. However, I think our future lies in Moore and Carew!
  5. I agree and I don't think there is any cover that is better than Gardner or Ozzy to warrant signing them when come the summer any new signing now as cover for Gav would be at least third choice. From the generals later post, I get the hint that Celtic may be after a stupid fee for Maloney and we are refusing to be held to ransom.
  6. I think replacing McCann is essential for top 4 but not so much for top 6. I agree though with a left back and right back (assuming either a. Bardsley is not good enough or b. he leaves at the end of his loan) are necessary for Europe. Not so sure about needing a striker anymore, it would certainly help but I think a top class central defender is necessary if Laursens injury problems persist is even more important.
  7. I agree with the latter. With regard to the former, there is no point in signing players for the sake of it. We are not in Charltons position after all!
  8. I am sure they are devastated! I wouldn't go that far.... I was being sarcastic my friend!
  9. It's not that bad Big Jim. FWIW, if there was midfield cover available which was better than what we currently have then I think we would have signed them. McCann is an important player for us no doubt but we have more flexibility in the latter third of the pitch now which means, to me anyway, that we can cope better without him than we could in the first half of the season.
  10. I guess he could be trying to play down things so we get a real surprise. Not that bothered to be honest. There is no rush for new players now! (Well not until the summer anyway).
  11. Looking at that site it is almost certain that the person posing as cKrulak is in fact the general!
  12. I am with you Tricella. Exactly what I would love to see but we will have to wait until the summer which is likely to be a good thing as I reckon we will get better players than if we sign them now.
  13. General, It has been brought to our attention that you have posted on another site that there will be no more signings this window. Is this true? As it stands the business we have done is great and there is no point signing players for the sake of it and 3 points tonight are more important. Thanks!
  14. I agree. I would love to know what is going on with Maloney then. Have we, haven't we.... It's very annoying!
  15. I think you mean Sissoko or Xabi Alonso, don't you? García is a winger. I thought about Alonso but to be honest, I think he is key to Liverpools midfield and therefore he wouldn't be allowed to leave. Therefore I meant Garcia but forgot about his injury!
  16. Garcia, the one out for the season with cruciate ligament knee damage? No, the other one! :winkold:
  17. Do you think Liverpool would let Sissoko or Garcia go? If they get Mascherano surely someone will get fed up sooner rather than later.
  18. To be honest, I am not even sure that we will sign Maloney today. I would be well and truly delighted with our transfer dealings if we sign him let alone 2 players.
  19. Would Hargreaves be happy with sitting on the bench though?
  20. What midfielders other than Maloney and perhaps SWP would we even be interested in at this late stage. The only club who may be in a position to sell a midfielder is Liverpool and that is only if they sign Mascherano but I can't think of anyone they would sell that I would want.
  21. I think O'Shea would be a good squad addition and I think Richardson would be a very good player but there is no chance til the summer I reckon.
  22. Tell me about it Jez, the fact that they have posted about it so much suggests to me that something is close to being done as they will know that by doing things like this they are building up hopes which ultimately could lead to some feeling a bit let down. I won't be but I could understand why others would be.
