  1. But if club A has any reasonable understanding which I am sure they do, then surely they would give permission to discuss terms but make it clear that it will be put on hold until the summer if they fail to sign player X. That makes commercial sense.
  2. I don't think he would have to hang around for that though. Assuming that was the case we could (and I assume we would) conclude all the negotiations with club and player, draft the paperwork and then all that would be needed is to sign and process the documents if Club A sign player X. MON would not be needed for that.
  3. He wouldn't delay his journey unless something was very close to getting done. There would be no point. I would imagine we would have some idea what was happening by tomorrow lunchtime. If there still are no reports then I would say we are done.
  4. If West Ham go down then he would be available for about £12 million in the summer I think.
  5. I think it says more that the club know that the fans are speculating and simply want to update them rather than anything else.
  6. He did say that there are players in lower divisions who can make the step up and he wouldn't rule it out.
  7. 3 points tomorrow are very important and that should be our main focus.
  8. Well, from what MON has said, I would expect at most one deal. There is very little possibility that if nothing has been fully arranged already that we could make more than one signing. Unless of course we are buying more than one player from the same club.
  9. Even Heinze who looked class is now struggling to get in the United side. Aimar would be similar to Veron for me. Sparks of genius mixed in with a large dose of mediocrity.
  10. Yeah I wasn't clear Brian. Bringing in a player who is currently playing first team football or unhappy at not playing first team football is likely to lead to that player being unhappy. This could rub off on others. Alternatively, dropping Sorenson to the bench, unless the keeper is clearly better, also is likely to cause problems. I am not saying don't bring another keeper in simply that if we do, it would have to be someone like Mart Poom.
  11. Brian, its not the cost that concerns me, it is the unsettling impact bringing someone in could have.
  12. My position was that Sorenson is good enough for top 6 but maybe would need looking at if we are to break into the top 4. I don't think there are any other keepers better than Sorenson that are available and I wouldn't by squad keepers for the sake of it.
  13. Yes and no. Sometimes you have to buy as and when quality becomes available. Ultimately we need a stronger reserve keeper. Signing Isaksson gives us a better bench - whether the bench is him or Sorensen. He may not be available in the summer. A cheaky £2.5m bid might get him now and that's one more job done for the summer. But he is unhappy due to not playing. If we sign a keeper, he has to be better than Sorenson or prepared to sit on the bench. I doubt Murray or Isaksson would be either of these.
  14. Well maybe as a reserve team player but otherwise there is no point. Murray wouldn't come and sit on the bench either.
  15. We don't need a keeper, there is no point going for one if you ask me.
  16. Appiah was signed from Juve having spent 8 seasons in Italy with various clubs. Never played for Inter but currently plays for Fenerbache.
  17. Alot of people have mentioned Appiah but I have seen very little of him to really assess how good a signing he would be.
  18. A very interesting article there. My dislike of SHA is borne out of the arrogance of their fans and their inability to acknowledge our acheivements. Alot of my mates are fans of them and if they see us play really well they cannot acknowledge it. They keep accusing me of living in the past and that I don't know anything about football which is ridiculous. My girlfriends dad has a season ticket at the sty and he is the worst of the lot of them. Every time Villa don't win I get a load of stupid comments about how we will be relegated, O'Neill is rubbish, Lerner isn't backing us etc... I wouldn't mind but he genuinely seems to believe what he says. I can acknowledge when they have done well like against Newcastle the other week. I don't hate SHA as much as they generally hate us but that is because we clearly are the superior club and there is nothing to suggest this superiority won't continue.
  19. I wouldn't mind Koumas you know. Technically gifted and can take a free kick.
  20. Matt Murray and Curtis Davies would be my bet if the rumour materialised. There are no other Wolves players worth looking at.
  21. I don't think Diop is past it, I just don't think the question marks over his fitness warrant us spending that much on him. If he was fully fit all the time he would be worth around £8 million.
