This place is getting like Big Brother with everyone suggesting new theories about what's happening. If I didn't care so much I would be on the floor laughing at some of the suggestions but let's face it anything is possible.

SSN just stated that Villa have announced to the stock exchange that there has been more interest from the UK and overseas in buying the club! Just some more people for Ellis to turn down I guess!

No way should he give it up. The award is for the best player and arguably he was that. Like someone else said, it is not a fair play award.

You obviously are a very sick fellow :wow: When have we met as you know me very well! Muhahahahahaaaaaa Funny that - a mate of mine sent me a movie clip this morning; now, I can watch almost anything - but this was a 70 second movie of gargantuan fat messes. I lasted 30 seconds Sounds delightful! Where did he get it from or is it in his personal collection?

I liked Droopy draws. He was so depressed all the time it made me laugh! Of those proposed though I have to go with Daffy Duck as the rest used to get on my nerves as I always wanted the bad guy to win but it never happened!

Industry average. Didn't say valuation was easy. I just said these are the 4 recognised methods. I know what you are saying but I am just wondering how could you get an industry average that would be reasonable. I guess you could see what Spurs P/E ratio was when ENIC bought in as I guess they would have been similar.

But none of those methods would paint a truly accurate picture of Villa. What P/E ratio would you use? Alot of the assets are off balance sheet! The current level of dividends would be difficult to extrapolate and the discounted future cash flows is left redundant by the fact that it is virtually impossible to predict what our cash flows would be with any certainty. The best way in my view is to get an asset based valuation which incorporates the potential value of the off balance sheet items like the potential planning permission and the youth players who have come up through the ranks!

Just explain to me Ali what the difference is between that and the Ellis name changes , if you can. I agree with you on this one. We can't villify people for playing on DOL's name but not for Ellis. That would be double standards.

In answer to your question Drat, I will state the obvious and say, get rid if the right manager is available. DOL is not the right man for the job for the reasons stated in a previous post. Who that manager is, I can't answer, but it has to be an O'Neill style manager and not a DOL one. Thats not to say I don't think DOL is a decent manager as I do but I think at the moment DOL and Villa do not satisfy each others needs.
