  1. You could play a 4-3-1-2 with Defoe and Carew as the front 2 with Young free to roam behind them I guess. You can never have too many good players.
  2. Drat, I would suggest that the league position is the best this squad could acheive unless we were lucky with injuries, which we haven't. We need to add to the squad so that we can improve our best position. I probably could have phrased this better but I am sure you can see the point I am making.
  3. I have actually heard this too however, I am sceptical that this will happen or indeed be attempted.
  4. The problem I have and I guess many other people have is that much of your opinion (this article and the odd few posts excluded) seems to be enveloped by sly digs and sarcasm yet you constantly seem to accuse others of doing this. I think it is also too early to suggest that results wise his performance hasn't been good enough considering the state the club was in when he took over. We are in a much healthier position than I think we would have been had O'Leary stayed which admittedly says as much about O'Leary's failings as it does about O'Neills ability. However, had we had a more even spread of the harder fixtures, I genuinely believe we would be in a top 8 position at the moment. We are only 4 points behind Spurs after all. With home games against Wigan, West Ham, Sheffield United, Everton and Portsmouth, all games I would hope we would win (although things rarely work out exactly as planned or expected), we could see ourselves firmly in the top half of the table which would represent excellent progress in my opinion.
  5. I sincerely doubt Ray Parlour's current ability. I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.
  6. Pedersen for £8 million? However good he is, I prefer Barry in that position.I would rather we tried to fill another position if he would cost that much.
  7. I will tell you why it's tomorrow, because Carew is back in France sorting out some things before jetting back over here tomorrow. No other reason.
  8. Matt Taylor will not be signing for Villa. I don't believe this for a minute.
  9. I wouldn't say I would be dissappointed with Diop, rather that I would be concerned as to his fitness. If we signed him as well would he come straight in for McCann? This could unsettle the team at this stage of the season.
  10. Thanks General. I haven't been so excited by Villa signings since the signings made by Brian Little in the 95/96 season.
  11. Is it really £5 million. I wouldn't pay that for Diop. £3 million at best. For £5.5 million you might get Barton.
  12. Diop, has shown alot of ability. Something about him strikes me as being similar to Amdy Faye when Portsmouth first signed him. Linked with Arsenal then disappeared into obscurity. Why would Fulham get rid of him otherwise?
  13. I really started getting into music in the 90's, the music I like the most was largely made in the late 90's/early 00's but the major influences for my favourite music came out in the 80's. So, I am not sure!
  14. General, What is the general mood like behind the scenes. From playing staff to admin staff right up to the directors such as yourself. Personally, if I am to believe what I am reading then this is a very exciting step in the new regimes reign. Whatever happens, the future looks bright and for that, I thank you. Tom
  15. I imagine that the deals are done and that he will be back later to hold a press conference either tonight or tomorrow morning.
  16. I would imagine that if Davies was on the move then we would be attempting to bring him here. We have some players we could offer such as Hendrie, Samuel etc... who have premiership experience and may interest West Brom.
  17. Haven't heard the rumour to be honest. Is that the same player West Brom were after? I know nothing about him so I can't pass comment.
  18. In that case it is highly possible that he has sign a pre contractual agreement.
  19. I must admit, it got me thinking too. We could offer Samuel in part exchange too. I am sure that would tempt them to sell to us over anyone else.
  20. I would be happy with Aliadiere, young quick and powerful. A good finisher too.
  21. I agree although I still think he can do a job. Also, the fact that Wenger hasn't gone for Neill must mean that he thinks Hoyte is better than Neill and that if Neill is world class, Hoyte must be solar system class and Eboue must be Galaxy class.... :winkold:
  22. If Chelsea, Barca etc... were interested he would be heading there. A relegation release clause would not change his mind. In any event, my point is that is if he is as good as some people say, these clubs would be prepared to match the wages offered by West Ham. They don't consider him that good and therefore he is not as good as some would like to suggest. That is my opinion!
  23. Well...you aint a manager. Barcelona, Juventus and now Liverpool has shown interest in him so he cant be shit. Lets see how he do at West Ham and then you can sit on your high horses and cry. Some people on here dont know anything really...it annoys me to the limit! So says the media Tricella. I have no doubt Liverpool were interested but they didn't think a reserve player was worth 50k a week. I seem to remember Barca were interested in Gary Breen, he has never been world class. Juve are currently in Serie B, if they were interested it was no more than a stop gap if you ask me. I think it is quite odd that you maintain these clubs were interested, if they were he'd bide his time and join them in the summer. As I have already said, they haven't signed anyone as an alternative.
  24. I agree that we need players in but as others have pointed out, you do not go after your back up players until you have exhausted all avenues with your first choice players. I just hope that we don't leave that to late (assuming we don't get our first choices that is).
