dont need to worry about goalies right now do we? I think if we would trim it to 4 signings or however many DOL said that he wanted, I think 2 defenders, one central, one LB, a creative midfielder, and a target-man striker. We dont really have any sizable players who are attacking, and I think we need somebody with a bit of strength and aerial-prowess. Same kind of player as John Hartson.

We dont know IF the kitty is all going on Baros, do we? I dont know either way, all I know is that Baros is overpriced for what he is. I think that a striker and creative midfielder for that much, if that much is available, would probably produce adequate players if we were getting good deals. We need good players though. We need to stop missing out on talent from lower leagues for a start - look at Bent for Charlton for example.

One. I am expecting to be dissappointed. Ive become increasingly dissillusioned this last season or so, the whole Vassell thing of late has really disgruntled me especially. If im proven wrong and we sign somebody who is going to change the club, then fair play, but if its one, and its of the ilk of who we have signed of late - say, if we signed Baros for example - then I wouldnt be over the moon, but not pissed off either.

not happy, no - but it would do. fact is, we need to replace vassell - but im not sure that Baros can fill the gap - as in somebody who helps build up to goals, as we already have 2 if not 3 strikers who can put the ball in the net given the chance.

Yeah fair enough BOF - just a fleeting suggestion. There are others that would be better to look at, but he is one of the available strikers from the top teams at the minute; as is baros by the looks of things.

Dont know if anybody mentioned him, but Craig Bellamy. An arsehole yes, but as somebody else said on here, we do need a bastard in the team.

Marek Mintal of FC Nurnburg, 22 goals in 28 games from midfield in the bundesliga this year... would cost around 3mil or so, liverpool were interested during the window i believe

Id take Routledge and Gera out of those lot LJRM, but for strikers I think we need something with a bit more class but im struggling to find a name that would be available to us. Keane is a possibility.

Solano hasnt improved as such really has he? He is back to the form everyone saw at Newcastle - but for his time with us, its a major improvement from last season.

I picked Laursen, he may not have played many games but you can see how good a signing he is. I really like watching Davis play and praise him a lot, but Laursen was the missing ingredient in our defense - if he and mellberg were at the back all season I think we would find ourselves a fair bit higher.
