  1. Danny Murphy has apparently talked down Terry and Henry so that's it for me. I want them. Murphy is a horrible little bellend I disagree with on everything.
  2. To be fair, Henry and Terry might be the best coaches around for all we know.
  3. My head wants Rodgers or similar, my heart wants Henry and Terry.
  4. We've got a few of our own to bring through as well.
  5. It has. Im sick of reading how he let us down. It was a horrible situation and disappointing for all concerned. Let it go now. He's a very vocal and passionate high profile Villa fan and I find myself agreeing with him almost all the time. We need more like him.
  6. I really like how Henry sees the game and if he can bring that to management im all for it. Said the same about Gary Neville though and so far so bad for him. Knowing and doing are two separate things. I'm all for taking a risk on potential brilliance over known mediocrity though. Having watched our U23s recently I think there's a lot to work with there too. Their passing and movement puts Bruces seniors to shame. Maybe time to promote Delaney to a first team coaching role too.
  7. Oh and can't see it being Moyes at all. I certainly hope not.
  8. The new guys assistants will be there no doubt. They're going to be the new coaches and so on so will need to see first hand what they're dealing with. They'll be first in to the new training regime. It will be nice for our players to actually have coaching.
  9. l'm sure he can now afford some counselling for having a cabbage rolled in his general vicinity. PTCD.
  10. I don't share your opinion at all. Even the Championship is a far higher profile than the Ukranian league. I bet 99.9% of people couldn't tell you what the Ukranian League is even called without google. Most managers would look at Villa naturally as a Premier League club that's in a period of change after serious mismanagement. A manager that believed in their ability would see Villa as a great opportunity to build their own legacy in one of Europes top leagues. I don't care how rich their owners are and how many token appearances in the champions league they get, it will never be as attractive as England, where even the 2nd tier is one of the most watched leagues in the world. We now have very wealthy and ambitious owners to ally to our size and potential. I'm not saying it's a formality he'd come here but I don't see him as out of our reach. You have precedents with the likes of Wolves and we're far larger than they are. Credit to them though, they've shown how to get out of this division in style and sustain it in the Premier League. We could follow that model easily, especially with Mendes in cahoots. But let's see what happens. I don't know what restrictions we'll have in terms of finance. It doesn't seem like NSWE are all that bothered though, seeing as how they've cleaned out almost all the back room infrastructure. They must be planning a massive overhaul that's quite clearly already underway. I'm excited but as most Villa fans I would imagine, cautiously so.
  11. I like the guy but I can't thank him. Basically because he hasn't done anything except squander chances to push on. The football has been mostly abysmal, with rhe very rare exception that I believe was more down to players fancying it on a given day, and John Terrys leadership. He's been paid lavishly and had lavish resources and uttery failed. I'm delighted he's gone. I hope he enjoys the rest of his life and I'd have a beer with him any day. But he's been terrible for Aston Villa.
  12. If we concede just one less goal per game we'll win most of them. That could be solved with simple tactical tweaks. This team doesn't seem coached or managed at all. Even some basic improvements should see more wins than draws and defeats.
  13. I think with Rodgers it's more to do with the style of play he has been known for. That and his agreeable and honest gentlemanly candour. Also, he almost won the Premier league and for Gerrard falling on his arse probably would have. His teams have played some of the best football I've seen. He's not perfect but probably needs to move on now for Celtic. Even the Championship is a bigger draw and a higher level than SPL. He's got nothing more to prove there. He's far from the only option but he would be one I would look at. The transition would be pretty good and I reckon we'd still have a chance of promotion. How likely it is Rodgers would come I don't know. But I reckon he would be interested.
  14. We need somebody progressive. Somebody who has an attacking philosophy because it's our strong suit right now in terms of squad balance and the only way we can proceed. Fans will accept the odd defeat if we're trying to win. We need somebody who works hard, not rely on poor quality coaches to do their work for them. I mean, Bruce literally does nothing except oversee a disparate group of players go through the motions twice a week. Bruce's philosophy could be summed up emptying a 24 piece jigsaw onto a table and watch it assemble itself. Rodgers would be a good choice, but anybody who can play football the right way and build something meaningful. Something connected and thought out. It isn't rocket science. No more chancers and dinosaur figureheads from yesteryear. It doesn't work anymore. Whoever does come will have the biggest and best club in the division, with potentially the best attacking players and a realistic chance of establishing themselves in the Premier League with lavish resources. Should be tempting enough.
  15. I think it was very silly throwing cabbage at Bruce. He can dodge salad like Neo dodges bullets. If he really wanted to hit him he should have used processed meats.
  16. Give him his compensation in a few years ...or thereabouts.
  17. Bruce has had more resources than RDM, including RDMs better signings and significantly longer to use them. Not saying this is definitive but its something to consider.
  18. Apart from McLeish who had relatively weaker resources, Garde who was given a shit sandwich to eat and DiMatteo who died from draws in a very short tenure, I cant think of a worse manager in that timeframe. And when you consider how lavish Bruces resources have been vs opponents, I can see why an argument could be made that he's the worst in the last decade. I would call it mismanagement of resources but that would imply some sort of management.
  19. And shit uninspiring football, unbalanced squads, no youth development, no apparent coaching or improvement or tactical nous. But yeah, how bout dem draws.

    The NSWE Board

When new owners come into clubs it is natural to hear from them. Including Man Utd and Liverpool. That is good practice. You don't want to hear from them all the time and especially when their setups are in place but when they're new then of course fans will want to hear from them.
  21. I'm pretty certain the squad isn't the problem. On the contrary, Bruce has the tools he needs to get the job done, it's just that he's a bad workman. And because a good manager should get the job done with these tools, let's get one in as soon as possible before it's too late. I see no reason letting Bruce continue to hack away.
  22. I like Bruce too. I'd have a beer with him any day. I'd have loved for him to get us up and then part ways because his teams would be murdered in the top flight. But id settle for an utter bastard who can get the team playing some kind of recognisable football right now. NSWE aren't daft and will want their own man in soon. Having arguably the best attacking talent in the Championship but only being aggressive when we give our obligatory soft goal away is not what they signed up for I'm sure.
