  1. I too thought he was superb yesterday. Papers agree, most had him as the motm.
  2. Seamus Coleman. That's one from a shite country I haven't seen mentioned yet. :winkold:
  3. Dante's looked shite in most of the games I've seen. Terrible positioning for a central defender, realises on last ditch tackling a lot. Stuttgart's team is just shite nowadays.
  4. Would do you think of Arango in the prem? Always quite liked him but he dose't seem to have done much at Gladbach and is 30 now. Watched the last 20 minutes of Stuttgart-Wolfsburg today. How Wolfsburg didn't wrap that up at 1 nil I'll never know, Magath was in bits at the end! Stuttgart looked completely hopeless.
  5. Moyes or Coyle in the summer please.
  6. Harsh if you're just basing it on him getting sent off. He won the ball that lead to Gabby's ball and he also intercepted it which lead to Downing being through on goal. From what I've seen he's a good player and certainly hasn't played anywhere near as poorly as Bradley was against City.
  7. Stuttgart have hit a great run out of nowhere while Wolfsburg and St Pauli look to me in freefall. I watched Bremen v Gladbach on Saturday. Bremen remind me a lot of us this season, lots of good attacking players and how they didn't finish the game off at 1 nil I'll never know, so many missed chances just like us and typically concede a late goal from a free kick. They've surely got too much quality to be in the bottom 3 come the end?
  8. Yeah they've got the likes of Johnny Howson and Bradley Johnson in there, decent championship players and regular starters for them so I can only see Barry getting in out wide.
  9. Why isn't he starting? Is it just Grayson not wanting to change a team in form at this stage of the season?
  10. Downing, Albrighton and Clark have been the only three bright spots of our season.
  11. Great league. The fact it's an 18 team one means there's two fewer cannon fodder in the league so it will always be reasonably tight points wise unless a Dortmund or Munich run away with the league. And one big team is going to go down. Stuttgart, bremen, Wolfsburg. Maybe even Schalke who aren't safe yet. Could be two if 'Gladbach can keep winning every other game.
  12. Well Malaga lost a crucial home game to Osasuna today, 93rd min winner from Sergio. Hercules also lost at home to Almeria, they made some good signings in the summer like Trezeguet, Valdez and Drenthe but that star effect seems to have worn off on them so they're in big trouble aswell.
  13. I'm just staggered he's been warming the bench for 2 years now with the odd run out in cups and sometimes the league and he's never been loaned out once. Do we as a club sometimes hold onto young players when they should be going out on loan? Wenger said last season reserve team football isn't really a huge test for young players nowadays, they need to be playing proper games against league teams which mean something.
  14. Well they've got Rondon and Miku both scoring in La Liga now so there's two good young strikers for the next ten years. Got Arango in Germany who's always been a good player, Rincon at Hamburg, Rosales at Twente so they've got a lot of players playing in major european leagues now more than ever. I think if it goes down to 5th again as it should, then it wouldn't surprise me if they nicked the play off spot as they were only a few points off it last time. Uruguay did brilliantly at the last world cup but always seem to have a major struggle to get to the world cup and lack consistantcy, Chile were uplifted massively by Bielsa, he's gone now I think and Colombia have flattered to decieve for ages now.
  15. before it gets done to death again, I was sad to see Cahill leave particularly as he was replaced by Knight and Davies. However imo Clark will become a better CB than Cahill. Important we get his partner right, he's looked good alongside Carlos in the cups and aside from the horror show at Newcastle, Dunney also looks more solid to me alongside Clark than he does alongside Collins.
  16. I would give it Albrighton as I don't think anyone in August could've expect to make the impact he has against premier league defences. I would have Downing a close second though.
  17. Vidic was crap for his first 6 months here, countless foreign players have looked poor early on and then a year later look world beaters in this league. Makoun imo has looked pretty good in all 4 games he's played for us before tiring a bit or launching into silly lunges.
  18. Clark's future is at CB. And he will be a very good one.
  19. Anyone who thinks he's slow and lacks pace should look at the way he breezed past the Blackburn defence for his goal. 6th league goal this season, he could easily be on 10 now given some of the chances he's missed and if he can get to that before the season is out which is realistic then that will be a pretty good season from him.
  20. Small Heath deserved it, Arshavin and Kosceinly might as well have been wearing blue shirts. No doubt both will have wonder games against us in May. You could say they were lucky with Sczseney doing an Enckleman but then again he shouldn't even have been on the pitch from the 4th minute. We had our chance last year and blew it. Can't quite believe they've become the first West Midlands club to win a major trophy this millenium. Let's get our act together and come back much stronger next season.
  21. Correct, I've defended Ireland most times on here but ultimately he needs to get it in his head he has to start performing properly in the prem otherwise he'll be playing in the lower leagues in the next few years. It's up to him but he needs to perform a Newcastle so he either comes back here in much better mental shape or they'll buy him.
  22. Yes, one poor season dosen't alter the fact he twice finished fifth when we finished 6th under MON with a far smaller budget. Everton lack a Bent really, obviously Saha is there but he's only really started scoring these last few weeks and is now injured again. I do think they play much better football than a few years back when they were pretty much long ball. Not sure why Jagielka isn't starting much at the moment, Hettinga isn't much cop.
  23. Moyes staring into the rain at Bolton today, a very resigned look. Does anyone really think he'll still be Everton manager next season?
  24. Malaga still bottom.... Will the arab lot pull out if they go back to the segunda? Rondon upfront for them does look a player though.
