  1. It winds me up no end that people still say to me "£15mil for Kodjia? World's gone mad" as if that is the barometer for how crazy the transfer market is, then don't seem bothered by someone bidding £10mil for tripe like Livermore.
  2. I'm sure there are a fair few people on this forum (I don't exclude myself from this) who should be having a long, hard look at themselves in the mirror before judging you for drinking. If you were a regular at spoons they'd wonder why you were so late starting.
  3. I'd like to see us sign quality full backs on both sides, and then push Amavi up into the left wing role. He's a very talented player but full back surely will not be his position moving forward. Looks to me like a poor man's Gareth bale the way his career is developing
  4. Too many random names linked to us at the moment for midfield, all slightly different moulds of players. What are we actually looking for? The recruitment policy seems just as bad, if not worse, than it ever has been. Gollini out, Johnstone in? Completely pointless, backwards step Gestede out at the start of the month? At least wait until the 31st rather than allow us to suffer the attempts of Gabby and McCantScoreMack. Lots of young exciting talent? Better give them the opportunity to prove themselves and fight their way into the starting line up by bringing them on into a formationless side in the 91st minute. Need a new midfielder? Let's sign literally anyone who's played in the championship this season and scored twice or more, regardless of their role in midfield, overall form and fitness, age, contract status or general attitude Just what is going on? When is this amateur bull going to end? What does it take to get a few braincells working at Villa?
  5. RT @SoVeryBritish: "Give them a ring" "I've emailed" "Be quicker to ring" "I've sent a text as well" "Just ring them" "I'll send another em…

  6. In my opinion any manager worth his salt would be hiring a small army of sport psychologists to live and work with each player and staff member individually for a period of time. They are all players that, based on form at other clubs, could play for any team in this division. We have a manager who is known for getting teams promoted. It's got to be more than just a silly curse or club mentality.
  7. RT @J_Kodjia: Win, lose or draw today's all about putting a team performance that'd have Mr Graham Taylor proud 2 b a villan. C'mon boys. In…

  8. Just when I hope McCormack proves his doubters wrong and starts to make good on his big price tag and expectations, he delivers up a performance even worse than the previous one. I don't care if someone is loosely holding your shirt, if you are even half interested in getting on the end of that ball, you do so as a goalscorer. That wouldn't stop you.
  9. Fantastic communication between Chester and Elphick there. Also McCormack being outpaced by Stearman is simply incredible. Not sure what to make of him anymore
  10. Don't worry lads, it's a Paul Lambert side. He'll be pushing the suicide button for his team in the dressing room right now
  11. It got to the point where I couldn't remember a time before that throw in
  12. What the hell am i actually watching right now. Johnstone reacted after the first save at glacier pace but in my opinion Hutton was even worse, just watching it roll in. At least try to get to it.
  13. He partners Hourihane in midfield at Barnsley I think? Think he only joined in he summer from Wigan or somewhere like that.
  14. Signed Connor Hourihane on FIFA15 from Plymouth for Southend as I needed a better midfielder. He became captain and I never took him out the side all the way up to the premier league. That is about as much as I can tell you about him though, which I imagine is scarily more than some villa fans I've seen who are "desperate" for us to sign him. We've seen year on year that the old phrase "ANYONE would be better than what we have" is just not true. Hopefully we have more accomplished scouts now who are confident this lad isn't a flash in the pan.
  15. Hourihane for £1mil is like advertising a fantastic car worth £5k+ for £3k to get it gone quick, someone coming and offering £1k and you accepting. If Hourihane was a car I would assume his owner was a drug dealer who needed to sell off evidence ASAP. Therefore the Barnsley owner is some sort of criminal mastermind and Hourihane has seen too much
  16. Barely notice it's in the middle (of a sandwich) and gives you nightmares?
  17. RT @petercrouch: Sad news about Graham Taylor . Had so much respect for him . Gave me my premier league debut and I will always be thankful…

  18. We'd win literally every single game until the end of the season if we just play with tekkers and kodjia up front and pack the wings. No need to fix centre midfield, just bypass it completely
  19. Think these new owners aren't too bad, once the takeover goes through there might be a resurgence. Possibly stamping their identity on the club early doors and bringing in Rowett too.
  20. Kasami, who was at Fulham when they were in them Prem, always looked a good player to me and very versatile. They have a couple of good kids coming through the ranks, also Eric Lichaj to return to help the RB situation?
  21. Didn't even apologise for it, just said he'd had a bad day at the office and "biting gives them what they want"
  22. I mentioned him earlier in the thread as someone I'd like to bring in as our left winger. He has some of the highest stats for chances created, key passes and assists in the whole of the football league in 2016. Hes quick and looks like he's too good for league 1 for sure. However, looking at his Twitter shows that his attitude stinks and I'm not sure Bruce would want someone with his attitude stinking out the dressing room. He recently responded to a Peterborough fan criticising his performance by saying something along the lines of "I bet you were one of the people complaining about me last season, well I'm the teams best player and the only reason we didn't get relegated last year" Don't know if he's had the sense to delete it since
  23. Cissokho looks likely to leave in the next few days for Olympiakos* so that would leave us light at left back, new player to come into the side in that position? Or putting faith in Amavi and hoping for no injury? Maybe Bruce was watching Robertson?
  24. Does anyone else have a sneaky feeling that Bruce wasn't just at the Barnsley game to watch Bree.... Hourihane was on for the 90 minutes too....
