  1. My only initial issue was the blue triangle on the neck, but, the rest of all kits look great. Love the striped socks. Interesting to see that they had Stephen Ireland in the photocall, this may be because he was Fans Player of the Year, but, if it's true that Lambo wants to sell him, it's odd that they are happy to have a 'sold' player all over our promotional material. Good job by Macron
  2. I've met Martinez before, had quigte a long chat with him. He's a top guy who lives for football. If we did approach him and he chose to stay at Wigan though, it does make you question his ambition...again, that is a big IF!
  3. There's no point saying 'have you seen x play'...as we are not getting the team, we are getting the man. With our current stock of players, plus a 'big man' (Heskey/Carroll/Holt...to keep this general) we will play long ball...we have Collins remember. Hopefully this is general enough to not be required in a specific person's thread.
  4. Great news...we get Lambert, he'll buy Holt, we get to watch long ball hoooof tactics again. Sigh...
  5. Hogso, for the sake of my recently renewed season ticket, I hope you are not ITK. I'm not saying Grayson would do badly, but I'm not risking near on £600 again this season in case we are served up the same crap we were last year and the year before that! Grayson has got a side promoted to the Championship, which is an achievement, but it is not enough to convince me that he can turn around the current state of our club. Grayson would be very uninspiring (to me anyway) and would show a huge step down. Do note that I was all for Ole Gunnar "One season" Solksjaer...probably because he was a "big name" rather than a good manager...
  6. Ah, I see, sorry, didn't know they had altered it!
  7. Not a fan. Loses the ball, hits hollywood passes to nobody. Sure he'll shoot from outside the box, but it goes (well) over the bar each and every time. I seriously don't see what others see in him...
  8. SIT That article specifically says we hadn't offered him a deal...
  9. I'm going to renew now, get the price freeze and then wait until August... If we end up with a poor manager and we buy players of Andy Johnson's ilk, I'll return it before the season starts. I'll also be ready to return it if we get Lambert in and he craps lots of money on overpaid British players...
  10. I'm sorry, anyone who thinks the 2 photos are shopped are kidding themselves...
  11. Not sure about Poyet...I would rather go for RMartinez... Then again, who else is there realistically...
  12. Matinez for me. Lambo will just buy expensive British players...we'll be back where we were 3 years ago (financially)... RM would at least look further afield!
  13. If we somehow pull Moyes out of a bag, I'll actually shit my pants...
  14. I like the posters (note: plural) who are "poking fun" at those of us who were excited by this appointment (or the prospect of it)... Yeah, yeah, that's the way to be a unified fan base, by belittling those of us that finally found something to be excited about.
  15. If it is Simon Grayson (or anyone lower down the list than that), I will be gutted.
  16. I just don't get excited about the thought of Lambert being the manager. Sure Norwich have been decent but I just see him as MON all over again. This is odd, as under MON we were 6th in the league and winning games, but the idea just doesn't get me excited. Moyes would get me excited, but not Lambo... Either way, whatever is best for the club will do...
  17. Totally gutted about this. Although I had no idea how well he would do, OGS as manager was an idea that really got me excited for next season. Nobody else we are likely to get (Martinez and Lambo included) really excites me. Lambo is just MON all over again and Martinez has talent, but has managed a team that have been terrible for 2/3 of each of the last 3 seasons. OGS and our pursuit of showed insight and desire to change things. I'll renew my ST this week, but I think the chances of me returning it before the start of the season stand at well over 60% as I don't see us getting a good manager and I don't see us buying anyone decent. Like I say, not saying OGS would've been good, but the idea was good and I enjoyed being excited about the club for once. Seriously gutted.
  18. I'd be gutted if we lost Given...sure, he doesn't come out for crosses, but he is a top class shot stopper! Anybody else is a gamble, Foster is good, but is prone to errors, Ruddy has shown form, but how many other keepers have shown some class and then fallen away. With Shay we have a proven track record! Plus, he is my all time favourite player...
  19. Seeing the video of him in training makes me happy...for years we have lacked someone who would shoot! Milner and Petrov aside...with a special mention to Craig Gardner too. And no, I haven't forgotten Barry Bannan, he doesn't count, you need to hit the target first, if not, it's just wasting possession...
  20. Kammy, he has got them into the Champs League...loyalty is not as important when you leave a club in a really good position... We need to see this appointment (if we do appoint him) for what it is...the minute Yanited come knocking, he'll be off no doubt and I except that. He would use us as a stepping stone and then cast us off, just like we would to him if his results are not better/a better option comes along. It has to be said though, ignoring the big club/not a big club argument, that Randy Lerner sure does know how to make a guy feel special...Ole must think he's royalty being treated like this! He may have cut back on transfer spending, but Randy is happy to spend his own cash getting the man he wants!
  21. I don't think they'll name a new boss until after May 31st...the day the season ticket price freeze finishes. I can imagine they'll want to try and get people back in the ground on this new wave of optimism'...the eventual appointment may dent this...
  22. According to a lot of papers, Australian sports pages too, Holman is "anxiously waiting to find out who his new manager will be at Villa" Nothing to say he has walked away from the deal/the deal has been cancelled.
  23. I see a downside of McLeish being sacked...I can now see a summer of us being a (continued) laughing tock due to our inability to find a manager...much like Wolves and much like we have the past 2 summers
  24. RunRickyRun and Mendi seem to be the same person, they both said exactly the same thing and both have stated the obvious.. Of course he will either be sacked or stay on...thanks for letting us know that information!
