  1. Think of all the money we will have saved by hanging on til the last minute...who cares about points?! That's not what's important in this league...oh, hang on a minute... I'm with you, certainly not the stuff dreams are made of
  2. I knew as soon as the Bradford game had sold lots of tickets, the story about bringing player in world change... Now that we have lost however, Lambert needs to make more excuses as to why he thinks his current crop are good enough. Our Marketing team sell us so much bullshit to sell tickets! I suppose that is their job
  3. The way I see it, there's no shame in losing to this Bradford side, they beat Arsenal and Wigan on the way here...we only lost 1 of 2 games (this is ignoring the poor performances and tactics by us)... The one overriding thing to take from all this, is that until Lambert sorts out our defending from corners, we are doomed. Beaten by Bradford by 4 corners, Baggies equaliser was a corner. Perhaps I'm talking sense, perhaps I'm just not bothered anymore...when you think it couldn't get worse, it does...
  4. I read this, laughed and thought 'good point, I best get brewing'...so I did and just have joined th club... Let them battle it out in the shipping lanes! A centre back (in case Dunne is broken) and a centre mid...that's the minimum. I'm just surprised that having seen us been so terrible, 45 minutes of fight has really made me hopeful again... Oh football, you torturous beast...

This goes totally against what I've been saying for a while now, but, after today's game I am beginning to wonder if we are actually going down. As it stands, we can see that we do still have the potential to play good football, it's just about closing out games and we are currently out of the bottom 3 on points and are level on games played. If we can go on a good run we can be up with the table quite quickly...I know we've been terrible recently, but if Lambert can address our defensive issues, I suppose it is possible...Norwich have been gone, safe and now heading towards the bottom 3 again. I do still think we'll go down, but, that little glimmer of hope is starting to like through the darkness a tiny bit...
  7. Again, like every window, I would just prefer the club to come out and say "we have no plans to make any additions even though we are well below standard" At least then it stops all the bullshit and ends the hope right then and there instead of building it up as we all (hope/pray) think we will suddenly pull a few (necessary) signings out the bag. Just be up front if we're not buying anyone...although I can imagine they are playing the 'soon we will buy someone' card to sell more tickets to Bradford as professing will sell more half season tickets. Actually, having read my own words, I'm convinced that's what is happening. We are staying coy on the subject as openly stating we are not buying will not sell tickets to Bradford which would in turn harm our chances of Wembley and lose half season ticket sales...I don't think we are buying anyone...which is funny as I don't think we'll get to Wembley either...although I'm really looking forward to a nearly full house on Tuesday! As with all my posts of this nature, I do hope I am wrong...
  8. RDM was average at West Brom and he defended his way to the Champions league title. Yes. He may sort out our defence, but he doesn't have the same quality of defenders to work with... Stupid move if true. I will completely lose all faith in football.
  9. It'd be mad to go through a tough January and not buy players... We just wouldn't do it... Oh, wait a minute...
  10. I agree with people who see us down. Having watched nearly every game this year, the bad performances have far outweighed the good. I can remember good games (in the league) against Liverpool, Man U, Sawnsea and Arsenal, Sunderland and Swansea away are debatable. Whereas I've seen us capitulate against Chelsea, Spurs, Wigan and manage to not score against Southampton having been smashed 4-1 by them earlier in the year. I just don't see where our next performance is coming from, let alone our next points...the baggies and the Newcastle games don't fill me with hope either. I do hope I am wrong
  11. PRMort You've missed the point of the article a bit... Had Lerner not done what the fans wanted, investment, rubbing shoulders with the big boys, pushing for Champions League, we'd have say languishing in the lower reaches of the league for the whole of his tenure. I can imagine that he would be getting much abuse as Dougie was getting about lack of investment. His investment was not used wisely (£40k a week for Habib Beye) but his investment was what the fans asked for.
  12. Hargreaves was on talksport today, said he'd taken a step back from football. Kind of hinted it was temporary, but then said a lot about his career being over early.
  13. 2 days before a massive derby... Still nobody new... Lets hope Vlaar really is like a new signing that can cover for all of our shortcomings in midfield as well as defence... Sigh...I don't want to sound negative, but I'm watching my £500+ for my season ticket going up in smoke again...more so than last year...
  14. That's what I've been saying, makes even more sense if we ditch Warnock
  15. Actually, having had a few minutes to think about it, I'm going to rethink my suggestion of JA Riise... He's a strong, no nonsense defender, who is good in the air and has a powerful shot on him... It is no longer a mere suggestion; I think it should be a no brainer!
  16. Apparently John Arne Riise has been told he can leave Fulham... Yes please. Sorry if it's already been mentioned, scrolling through pages on your mobile takes hours! Anyone know how to do it quickly?
  17. I'm sure someone just said that we're not the worst team in the league... I'd love to agree but I'm finding the evidence against that statement quite hard to ignore I'm afraid...
  18. Jacket... From now on, every game is a huge game
  19. I like all the talk about player x who is good the Championship... That's just what we need, players who are good in the championship. Most clubs who are promoted but don't replace their players who were good in the championship get relegated. I want to see players with experience of a league that shows the same quality as the PL. although no money grabbers like QPR have gone for since they were promoted. No disrespect meant to the Championship, but isn't buying from the lower leagues what has gone us into this mess?
  20. One for the future is good, but we need one for now!
  21. Ill say it again, Reo Coker. Can't possibly demand what we were paying him before. Better than what we have now. Once thought to be capable of being our captain. Sorry but I'd be happy if we announced him tomorrow.
  22. NRC is rubbish yes, but so is what we have now...at least he has experience and was a decent captain while Stan was out...
  23. Rep-Coker has just left Ipswich apparently...anybody have him back? He wasn't good enough here, but he's better than what we have now, apart from Westwood, he impresses me!
