  1. He could always apply Lambert's 'false narrative' tactic of re enforcing rubbish- 'great group of lads', 'they give it their all' or ' couldn't ask for anymore'. I for one find it reassuring that the one responsible ultimately for the team sees what is blatantly in front of his eyes. To my knowledge remi has not been overly critical of individuals, hasn't publically blamed individual errors or said anything that isn't true. Its painful to hear but it's the truth. As a club we have for too long accepted (publically at least) mediocrity from players capable and paid to deliver better.
  2. Can't recall exactly but I'm sure merson said (I know he's not the brightest himself) when questioning his ability to carry out the role that if he was that great arsenal would never have let him go. To be fair you can't blame fox for taking a more senior role, for undoubtedly more money, but it's time for all to accept he's not very good at it. His ego bangs on about improved revenue in seemingly complete igornarance of the bad football related decisions he has made. Maybe a sideways step to head of the commercial department, if randy wants to save face. I'd much rather f**k him off, plus I think he'd walk at that proposal! Despise the man and despise his impact since being here
  3. Does anyone have any clips or pictures of this? Glad he finally got his portion of the abuse he deserves. We may be relying on a buyer to remove randy but fox has been nothing short of a disaster and the sooner he leaves the better, in my opinion.
  4. Exactly this. I used to plan my day around k.o, if I wasn't there it would either be streaming the game or at least listening to it on the radio. My interest at the moment extends only to me frequently checking my phone. The only positive for my lost interest is its stopped hurting as the bad news rolls in... 1-0 , 2-0...
  5. Sorry didn't mean to quote haniovillian and can't delete the quote box? I just wanted to thank all those who are putting such an effort in to this. What is happening to us is a disgrace, and you are communicating our despair in a very well put together and dignified manner! You certainly have my support and doing nothing is no longer an option. Keep up the good work, utv!
  6. The signings in general, apart from ayew, have struggled for a large period of the season, in my opinion. Even amavi who came with a glowing reputation, struggled at times before his injury. Those you mention may be prove to be good long term additions, and I hope they are, but we are where we are on merit. I standby my opinion that our summer activity was poor, for the period of time we were in and what we needed as a club. 50 odd mil ( even with loosing vlaar, benteke and delph) should have at least meant we stood still, with wise investment. Those that contribute to the recruitment policy are therefore collectively responsible. To be fair I think Sherwood's results and performances did him out if a job, starting with the very end of last season ( I.e. Southampton away and the cup final), although his eagerness to blame everything but himself did not help his cause.
  7. In think I dislike fox more than randy, well at least as much. I'm convinced that he thinks he's doing a good job and all what's happening now is an inevitable consequence of what came before him. If randy still has an interest in the club, as we're led to believe, albeit from a very long distance, then surely he has to go to stop him from further destroying our club. His major decisions have been nothing short of incompetent. To name but a few; giving Lambert a 4 year extension despite turgid football and questionable results, then dither on sacking him when it was clearly going wrong nearly relegating us , hiring Sherwood, then dither on sacking him, which will contribute to relegating us this time, hiring remi a man with no pl experience (tbf right man wrong time imo ), the fools panel he has put in place which overseen a significant investment ( accepted gross not net, but significant all the same ) which left us comfortabley the worst performing team in the prem (possibly poorer than many of those we will be competing against next year) choosing not to invest in jan,..... And to think of the relatively short time he's been here! I'm not sure he could of shafted us any more had he tried. Fwiw I don't trust Hollis either but fox going would at leat be a start if the change from top to bottom that is needed. As others have said I think mervyn king will ensure that there is a sincere interest in avfc with the decisions that are made, thankfully. I'll worry if he walks!
  8. we just have no options to change things for the better. I don't follow things outside the first team closely enough to know if there is any offensive minded players in the youth set up worth giving a go , but I don't see what else he can do with the senior personal? We were crying out for a change yesterday after about 20 minutes to help retain the ball up front, but the only option available was Sinclair. Given that option I too would of stuck with gabby. I am ashamed to admit when Rudy's hamstring went I was perversely releived as I thought at least that now guarantees the purchase of a new striker, how wrong I was. I don't think we can blame remi, the squad is just terribly poor. My opinion of him is that he is that he is a technical football manager and with that you need footballers. If we were going to rely on attitude and getting an extra 15-20 percent out of the squad through their relationship with the gaffer we should of stuck with Sherwood. At the time i thought Sherwood should have gone before he did, but with no investment in January, in hindsight we may have been a few points better off with him. Unfortunately remi is increasingly looking like the right man at the wrong time in my opinion. Fwiw I would stick with him as long term I think he'll create a legacy that will change the club for the better
  9. Always thought he was a bit of a bellend the way he goaded the holte end when he scored against us. His conduct whilst at the club has proved that he is in fact a bellend.
  10. Whilst I agree with your sentiment during those 14 months he; gave Lambert an extended contract, failed to sack him within a reasonable time frame, allowed himself to be 'blagged' by Sherwood then failed also Into sack him with a reasonable time frame. His dithering to make a managerial change nearly cost us last season and it looks as though the same mistake will bite us this season. He is learning as he goes but the consequences for the club are massive. Whilst the period before him is a reality its convenient to hide behind. He has over seen a massive recruitment drive on and off the pitch during his time here and we're worst off for it. He does need time but how far are we going to fall during that process, and will he have learnt enough to put it right, or do start all over again?
  11. Great... All the headlines after tonight refer to us a 'club in crisis'. When so much has been mooted about the teams fragile confidence and during a time when we're struggling to attract players looks like last night was a real success.
  12. The problem being there appears little effort to put things right on the pitch. I accept that off field, on field do not operate in isolation of each other but we're a football club for god sake. Its great that we're increasing revenue, 'customer' experience, etc... What I care about is what happens on the pitch and they just seem to have given up on that, for the remainder of this season at least. Krulak is a clown but at least he suggested some passion and fight!
  13. Didn't go myself tonight but the reports and opinions I read suggest the upturn in optimism (regardless of which league we're likely to be in) and improvement in unity developed over the past couple of games has taken a real battering. In hindsight maybe this meeting has come completely at the wrong time. Regardless of timing the message they spout is painful and further demonstrates we're viewed as a commodity not football club. I for one hate what we've become. Unsubstantiated rumblings on twitter ( by one individual only but who suggests the message comes from Pete Colley) is that remi is ' seething' that the board have thrown the towel on this season? Couldn't fault the guy for walking!
  14. I am unsure how to do links but post match last night he questioned our first half performance, said something along the lines of ' jack did not show me what I wanted to see'. In previous games he has questioned their effort, fight and ability to carry out his tactical instructions. I for one find it reassuring he is seeing and telling it as it is. I am sure previous managers have also, but their public backing and ignorance of what was blatantly there to see drove me mad! To be fair Sherwood towards the end was equally as honest but as previously discussed this was possibly a self preservation tactic?
  15. I appreciate and quite like remi's honesty when assessing the teams and individual performances. Years of Lambert rationalising that he 'couldn't fault the lads for effort' and that 'they gave me 100 percent' regardless of the dross they served up on the pitch was infuriating. I am sure its ruffling a few feathers within the squad but remi appears to say it how it is, which is exactly what our pampered bunch need in my opinion. If they don't like it, move on!
  16. I think we'll get a benign statment of sorts but I think he'll do it in his own time, so as not to appear dictated too. Just further contempt from a disinterested owner. I think remi will be good for us long term and rightly so wont accept crap from the club or players a like. Hopefully the hierarchy will realise they're on to a good thing and offer their support, both verbally in this instance and financially
  17. Especially after apparently nearly agreeing a deal with adebayor. I don't get the rationale when that deal fell through, we then thought we had enough up front? We have been defensively woeful yet I still believe our biggest issue is how toothless we look. I honestly believe we could play all day and not score. Put the two together....
  18. This exactly for me. I read it as if Wycombe is the catalyst for them to try to convince randy we need investment. Its just a joke. Remi hasn't covered himself in glory but I really couldn't blame him for just walking. If randy et all haven't realised before now we desperately need more quality, if nothing else but to save our club from complete humiliation, I once and for all give up!
  19. My hearts in my mouth everytime he's on the ball. What appears to be composure is unfortunately a complete lack of awareness of whats around him. Ok when told to mark some one out the game (from what I have seen of his international games at least) but not much else to offer.
  20. Just not good enough at this level. Although defensively appalling I cant remember a side that has so little threat going forward. We only have to concede one and the game is effectively over. Although not soley responsible I think he has had long enough for us to realise he will make little impact. Purchasing an attacking focal point is priority number , for premier or championship.
  21. He's certainly a worry, but worst than Richardson??? His lack of awareness that deaney was behind was inexcusable, and a general indication of his footballing intelligence, or lack of. I would suggest that from his accusing glance towsrds Richardson he never got a shout, but he's got to anticipate the stickers presence!! The strange one for me is that he shows rare glimpses of promise, despite clearly being shite! I wish he'd just be shite so we ship him out sooner!
  22. What I find as culpable as the bad appointments, penny pinching, appointing mcleish, reluctance to make changes, etc is the absence of leadership in a dire time of need. Where the **** is he? I blame fox as well for a complete lack of communication. I dont particularly think either of them has anything worth listening to, but like it or not their at the helm. ones awol and the other says nothing. Just adds to further division in my opinion to an almost irretrievable situation. A simple ' times are tough but we're working day and night to put things right' would at least suggest that we're in it together, which would surely help? drogba said only this week the value of an owner that cares to the success of a club and an inspiration to the players.
  23. Was listening to Talksport this evening and on there was a midlands Times journalist and a local reporter from the Liverpool area. The Liverpool reporter seemed to think that it is in fact Liverpool currently meeting RM, but stated that contrary to popular belief it's their first meeting and not second? The Times reporter had nothing significant to say on any developments for us! On a positive note though he suspects Chris Houston to get the Baggies job. I would believe these journalists over Ian 'the Moose' Abraham's any day of the week!! He is mocked by even the presenters at Talksport for talking absolute shit and they regular feature his ITK statements for comedy value as they are often so far wide of the mark!! He suggested something about us sometime ago (can't remember what this was) and quickly back tracked when it was proved otherwise!! What ever the moose says, believe the opposite!!
