  1. Klinsmann won't come here. He has a lucrative, relatively low-pressure job with the U.S.--and has loads of authority over the sport in this country.
  2. In fairness, you know why you like Lambert - you just outlined it in the following sentences! Yes. I was hedging against what I had feared would be an unpopular opinion!
  3. Lord knows why, but I still like Lambert. Tactically, he has turned our defense from a shambles into a half-decent, organized unit. We've started to keep a little possession, as all of us were dying to do. And on a shoestring budget, he has amassed some talent: Benteke, Sanchez, Vlaar, Okore, and Gil (based on early returns), and even lesser buys like Westwood and Bacuna have been at least half-decent. That's a lot more quality than we could've reasonably expected from our meager spending. That said, this means our squad is fairly decent. We shouldn't be struggling for goals, and we sure as heck shouldn't be in another relegation fight. So the ball is squarely in Lambert's court. Time to turn in some points, or even I will reach my limit.
  4. Doubt it. They're two separate issues, and we've been negotiating with Delph for a while. As best anyone can tell, we've told City the amount we'll pay them (or Sinclair the amount we'll pay him), and it simply isn't enough.
  5. I like Delph and would rather have him than not. But I won't be gutted when he leaves.
  6. Would help Lambert Makepeace with the boo boys. I cant imagine Dempsey would want to do that. No reason for him to do it.
  7. This ^^^^^^^ I would have loved him here, too. But he was always going back to Swansea.
  8. I'm itching to see a midfield with Delph, Cleverly, and Sanchez together. I quite like Cleverly, and the rumored price doesn't bother me. I wouldn't say he is vastly superior to Westwood, but he's superior. Westwood is remarkably inconsistent.
  9. I'd say Curtis Davies before he busted his ACL.
  10. He's a darned good defender. Let's not move him to a different position.
  11. I'll be surprised if we see him on a pitch before 2016.
  12. He created a great chance for Benteke at the top of the box in the first half.
  13. You're paranoid. Allegations of media bias are lazy.
  14. It's wrong to presume that this was based on a four-game unbeaten run, as if our front office is so reactionary and compulsive. Fox said that--before he even started--Lambert and Lerner were working on an extension.
  15. I'm pretty sure that everyone else plays the same teams the same number of times as we do.
  16. Whether he stays permanently, leaves in January, or leaves in May, as long as he plays well during his time here, we'll benefit.
  17. We would pay 7.5 million for him in January only if he signed a multi-year deal with us. I can't imagine any other scenario.
  18. I expect that Vlaar, like Mellberg, will leave on a free at the season's end. He'll likely get a nice payday and find a team with Champions League football.
  19. By all accounts, he would've happily joined us for £60,000 a week.
