  1. Well said sir and that it why he was booed on his return to VP.
  2. Wow! These are exactly the sort of high profile managers managers we do not want. They have all failed in their last jobs and would be expensive. We need a young up and coming manager who plays good football and is not afraid of the top six clubs. Which manager has recently beat Man Utd, Newcastle and Arsenal. Come in Roberto Martinez. He has changed the system at Wigan and they are playing incredible football. Look what he did with N'Zogbia and how he has transformed Maloney. Only this time Randy, don't let the world and his wife know we are coming.
  3. I have no idea its pretty much as been said in the Mail and the club statement focussing on the next 2 games and that's it . For what it's worth met him twice likeable guy very honest and one of those first in last out Managers at Bodymoor was like a breath of fresh air compared to MON to deal with so I am told . But was the wrong manager for this club for everything that has been said a million times. I actually like the bloke as a person but personally can't see anything other than him leaving its a majority not a minority against him . Would say the senior players are worse than what Houllier had to play with and all the bad apples are still there and I think he couldn't shift them on and was told to work with them because of the wage issue . MASSIVE OWN GOAL FOR ALL CONCERNED ! Will Lerner though be stubborn ? It was odd appointing him in the first place It seems to me that until we get rid of all these bad apples we are going to continue to be in trouble. McLeish comes over as a decent bloke who has never criticised fans. However, his results are so poor that his position has become untenable. If a new man comes in he has got one hell of a job.
  4. I am not surprised with the 5 year contract he is on at £50 + grand a week.
  5. To go when? I can't see any other clubs being prepared to pay their wages.
  6. Stan is 67k believe it or not. Gabby is near enough 60k I have seen his wage slip I am also under the impression Ireland is on the same as Bent. I have it on fairly good authority that Ireland has a clause in his contract which states he has to match the highest earner so when Bent came in he got a pay rise!! If Bent leaves in the summer does this mean that Ireland will have to take a pay cut?
  7. I see that Mutton has asked the fans to get off McLeish's back. Given his performances this season I wonder if Sid could give John Gidman or Kenny Swain a ring to see if they can play against Spurs. Even now I'm sure they could do a better job than our Scottish Cafu.
  8. These figures are obscene. While MON has alot to answer for, since he has left we have paid Bent, Ireland, Given, N'Zogbia way over the odds in wages. Do we have anybody at VP with a financial or football brain?
  9. Woy is going to be the next England manager.
  10. This. When Stanley Victor arrived at VP we had just had a fantastic season with winning the league cup and finishing fourth. He was one of the biggest let downs in our history yet when I listen to him pontificate on talk sport anybody would think that he was the best player to have graced the game. Please bring back a real Villa legend for the match day programme - one Ian Taylor.
  11. Christ, if there is one thing he isn't, and that's a "specialist defensive midfielder", the bloke couldn't tackle at all. And the reason we let him leave is that he was rubbish. I don't think he'd be getting a game now even with all the injuries. Houllier even realised he was crap, and he was the idiot who bought him! A good manager can get the best out of players. Look what Martinez has done with Maloney.
  12. Where have you been since Tuesday? There is no way back after that, the tide has changed dramatically. I see that Andy Gray is saying that McLeish can turn things round and should not be sacked. Andy, you were a great player and I always thought you talked sense. However, on this one you have got it completely wrong. Your opinions wouldn't be influenced by the fact that McLeish is Scottish and an ex Rangers man would they?
  13. Ok so why is he pissing everybody off?
  14. Agreed. Despite everything I have never heard him have a go at Villa fans. However, his record is so poor he would be getting stick whoever he was. Winning once in eleven matches at home is not good enough and it all boiled over last Tuesday. I was booing on Tuesday, not because I dislike him, but I am sick and tired of rarely seeing Villa win.
  15. Interesting. where does this news come from? Probably Ireland and/or Dunne. Who is GA?
  16. Is the protest going ahead against Spurs? Can't see the point as Randy got the message loud and clear against Bolton. We all need to get behind the team for our last home game becacause McLeish and Grant will not be here for much longer.
  17. Warnock's first half performance against QPR at VP must rank as one of the worst ever.
  18. I really like the look of that. Unfortunately I doubt if Mr McLeish will. This is what makes him a poor manager. He is stuck in his ways. There is a reason why we are so poor at home and I think the above team might help to give us more balance. However, he will continue to play a defensive game and play the same system that has failed consistently throughout the season.
  19. One of the main reasons that Wigan have done so well this recently is that they have played three at the back. Considering that our wingers have been so poor this season, I would drop Albrighton, N'Zogbia and Hutton. As we have only won one of our last eleven matches at home it is obvious that 4-4-2 is not working. My team, in a 3-5-2 formation, would be: -------------------------------Given ---------------Cuellar-------Clark-----------Baker Lichaj-------Herd---------Ireland--------Bannon-------Warnock --------------------Weimann--------Agbonlahor I have not been very impressed with Bannon but he is not a winger and would play better in the middle. Warnock is another one who has been poor but he may play better as a wing back where he is not as exposed. If we lose tomorrow I think the fans will give it to Mr McLeish big time.
  20. Dear Mr McLeish, if Villa are beaten tomorrow be prepared for all hell to break loose as you walk towards the tunnel at the end of the game.
  21. One win out of our last eleven home games is relegation form. I can't see us winning another game this season and the only thing that can save us is other teams.
  22. I have been going to VP since the revolution in the late sixties. In that time I have seen numerous managers come and go. Below is that list with their win ratios. 1. Graham Taylor MK1 45.77% 2. Tony Barton 44.62% 3. Ron Saunders 44.48% 4. Vic Crowe 44.22% 5. Ron Atkinson 43.26% 6. John Gregory 43.16% 7. Martin O'Neil 42.11% 8. Brian Little 41.46% 9. Gerard Houllier 38.89% 10. David O'Leary 35.88% 11. Jozef Venglos 32.65% 12. Graham Taylor MK2 31.67% 13. Graham Turner 31.43% 14. Tommy Docherty 28.26% 15. Alex McLeish 24.32% 16. Billy McNeil 21.95% I don't care if Doug's roses are in bloom or not. He most certainly does need to have a word. I am very concerned about McLeish's ability to avoid relegation. We could easily have been beaten yesterday but were saved by a marginal offside decision. I predict we will draw with Bolton and lose our other three games. I fear this will send us down.

  24. Wow, this guy hates a man who has pumped £200 million of his own money into the club and calls fans who want to give the manager a chance a disgrace. Thank god that we still have a hardcore of 30,000 fans who go to VP because without them and our owner we could be doing a Leeds or Glasgow Rangers. If you know somebody with a spare £200 million just give Randy a ring. I'm sure he would like to hear from you!
  25. You may have your reasons for not liking McLeish, but I find it hard to believe it is because of his shit anti-football. In our last three away games we have scored eight goals. He has introduced Keane and has started to get the best out of Ireland. Against QPR we played some great attacking football. Like most Villa fans I was shocked and disappointed when he was appointed, but I have got over it and moved on. I support the club and he is our manager so he gets my support. I was worried when MON was here that he was leading us to a state of financial ruin. If he had continued his crazy spending and wage structure Villa were in danger of doing a Leeds or Portsmouth. McLeish has had the balls to take on the job when others wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. He has tried to cut the wage bill, lost his two best players and has given our young players a chance to establish themselves. I think its about time people on here got off his back and support him because given the resources at his disposal I think he is laying the foundations for a brighter future. We need stability and we are not going to acheive this if we have yet another change of manager.
