  1. No doubt he will be telling the world and his wife that Villa are not big enough for Martinez and what a wonderful club Liverpool are.
  2. to me that much is obvious I don't think it is. Let's face it, the whole OGS thing could (and perhaps should) have gone off without anybody noticing. If all the eggs were in one basket, then they had made the offer and he indicated that he would accept, to the point that he went home to sort his affairs out that end. He changed his mind. Shit happens, you dust yourself down and move on. A week on VT wouldn't be the same if there wasn't a feeding frenzy on Messrs Lerner and Faulkner by the resident wolves. The fact is nobody knows shit, so all this 'he would come here, no one will come here, they've **** up again' is all rubbish. Let's wait and see. To be fair to PF and RL they surprised and excited me with their choice of OGS. However, Houllier and McLeish were very poor choices. I hope I am wrong, but I suspect that the man who becomes manager is going to disappoint alot of people.
  3. For all his faults, I wish we had Deadly doing the business. When he went for Big Fat Ron and Brian Little it caused a storm, but he was prepared to play dirty as opposed to PF and RL who want to play by the Queensbury Rules.
  4. I think it's a fair statement that if Ole was offered the job on Friday he would have taken it and Molde wouldn't have had the chance/time to mount a counter offensive. This is very disappointing, if true.
  5. What's happening in Norway, have they finished their meal yet and has Ole mended some broken hearts?
  6. OK Randy I'm getting bored with this. Can you please stop **** about and get the job done cause I've got things to do and places to go.
  7. Oh its all gone quiet over there Oh its all gone quiet over there Oh its all gone quiet All gone quiet All gone quiet over there
  8. We all know this is a risk, but every managerial appointment is. I remember when Ron Saunders was appointed that there were very few Villa supporters who wanted him. Even if OGS turns us down I think Randy has played this much better than last year. Instead of waiting for the likes of Dave Whelan to tell us we are not big enough for Martinez, Randy has been pro-active. The last article I read is that Martinez is now seriously considering Villa as he is not sure he is ready for Liverpool. Its like the woman next door who you fancy something rotten, you always want what you can't have.
  9. "Ole Gunnar's Claret and Blue Army" has a slightly better ring to it. Randy You have surprised and impressed me.
  10. Some chappy on Twatter who for some reason a lot of Villa fans seem to think holds weight as said we've been in contact with Klinsman. Now that's more like it.
  11. Very good post, but Poyet is on a five year contract at Brighton and I can't see Randy wanting to pay out that much compensation to get his man. If we had Deadly in charge I would be confident that Lambert, Martinez or Rogers could be poached. However, RL and PF seem to want to play by the rules and this will hinder their search when dealing with the likes of Dave Whelan. What RL and PF should have done throughout this miserable season is have looked throughout Europe for a man who can transform this club. Not many people in England had heard of Arsene Wenger when David Dein asked him to manage Arsenal and look what happened. Villa finished above Arsenal the season before Wenger arrived. I would like to think that RL and PF could come up with somebody in the same mould as Wenger. Given their two choices so far, somehow I doubt it and my biggest fear is that somebody like Steve Bruce will arrive as he has premier league experience.
  12. I do hope that Peter Grant has also been sacked as I think that he is just as responsible for our awful football.
  13. Taxi for Mr McLeish and Mr Grant. Please close the door on your way out.
  14. I think McLeish's comments about the silent majority backing him are strange. If they are silent how would he know what they are thinking? I never boo at matches so I supose you could call me one of the silent ones, but I want him out like everybody else because watching the way he sets the team up is like watching paint dry.
  15. horseshit. I am not ITK, but I know somebody who has worked at BH for many years. I said to him to-day "Do you think AM will be sacked next week?" He laughed and said "No, trust me." It made me depressed for the rest of the day
  16. To keep Wigan up on crowds of 16,000 and having to sell your best players is one hell of an achievement. He can also get the best out of players. How can Maloney and N'Zogbia look like world beaters playing for them and garbage playing for us. I think Martinez could do wonders for players like Bannan and Albrighton. He is calm under pressure and prepared to change tactics to win games. Since they changed their system to 3 at the back their form has been fantastic. Whenever a manager is appointed there is an element of risk. I remember that most fans didn't want Ron Saunders and look what he did for the club. I think Martinez has the potential to really take the club forward.
  17. Like alot of fans I was prepared to give AM a chance, but gradually his dire, negative football turned me against him. However, I fear that he will still be hear at the start of next season for the following reasons: 1. Randy and PF like him. When you talk to Alex it is pure football. 2. Randy and PF will be taken in by his excuses, injuries, selling players, bad luck, blah, blah, blah. Nobody works harder than Alex. 3. They will not have a clue who to replace him with. 4. They haven't got the balls to sack him. 5. It will be expensive to sack him. 6. They want continuity.
  18. Well i would be happy with a manager who could beat Man Utd, Newcastle, Arsenal and Liverpool. It is something that McLeish hasn't even tried to do.
  19. He is a much ITK as my auntie Lil who last visited VP thirty years ago.
  20. I wish I shared your confidence, but I just can't see Randolph having the balls to call McLeish and tell him he is fired.
  21. I would imagine this is total bollocks. I can't imagine Randolph phoning agent ITK to give him an exclusive. He probably gets off on all the excitement he is creating on VT.
