Not every player is the same.. I am sure Aguero is shit at taking corners so he's better off in the box even if he's not gonna get anywhere near it. McCormack clearly has a pretty great corner and is a short arse so why not let him take them? Just because it's traditional to have the strikers in the box for corners doesn't mean it fits all strikers.. You are right though we lacked a fair bit once he came off. Green and Grealish offered loads of attacking movement, but the guy that would have benefited went off to make way for them which is unfortunate.

Looks like Birmingham International Station.. Just not sure why he'd be chillin on the platform there as the Virgin Cross Country train to get you to that Station if you are heading to London just keeps on going. It could be Coventry Station though..

Guzan would have let in the soft one they had on the stroke of half-time. It was a lovely curling shot into the bottom corner but Guzan would have flapped at it, Gollini took it with grace as he should have as it was an easy save to make.

I can't wait to see how he performs in a team where Ayew is actually playing for the team.. I don't know what had gotten into Ayew today, he was playing like he was pissed off or something as he was on the wing but he never once passed the ball to McCormack. McCormack had a storming game today but he possibly could have scored had one of our more creative players not blanked him all match.

So I have taken some time away to reflect and the mistake aside which was typical Villa it wasn't all that bad.. The first half was nervy and rather tepid from Villa which is to be expected as Sheffield Wednesday came at us from the offset. I felt as the game progressed though we came into it more and more to the point that by the second half it was our game to lose. Inevitably as we were at our strongest and seeming more and more likely to score we made a mistake and it cost us the game. Was it a bad match? Not really, it wasn't pretty football but considering Wednesday were the strongest team not to get promoted last season we certainly didn't look that far off the pace. I think once a few more players come it and we build up a bit more confidence we will be golden. All in all yes a silly mistake was all it took but we need to take solace that until that point in the match we had nullified them. Not bad going considering some of us and our critics had us down to lose comfortably today. Onwards and upwards.. Next stop Luton.

Apart from getting Newcastle or Norwich in our opening game they are likely the hardest opener we could have gotten.

Not match fit he only came back from injury just before pre-season started and was eased in as a result.
