yes sell him for a pittance, having someone with a bit of quality at Villa is the last thing we want It's not the last thing we want but they do inevitably leave to a bigger club within weeks of having a decent season. We are a glorified feeder club and have been since Yorke left. Since him, every top player we have ever had has left at almost the first opportunity. The only one who hasnt is Laursen and his career was ended instead by injury such is our luck. Ireland has had one good season in his career and hasnt come close to it since. Two managers have lost faith with him at this club alone. In any case, if Ireland miraculously does re-create his best form, he will off in the summer as well.

I actually hate Ireland more than Downing. At least Downing gave us one good season. Ireland is a disgrace to this club and to football.

I dont buy it. He has been on Twitter saying he cant wait to play. Even the OS are at it saying he should be fit. It's either unbelievably good/cynical propaganda or is a coincidence.

What was the last statement he released? Anyone got a link or the quote? It's just that I cant even remember him saying anything when McLeish was appointed.

Does anyone know exactly what the add-ons were? It was 18m + 6m worth of addons. Anyone know what boxes he has ticked of those, if any? If we accept a penny less than what we have paid then we are bigger mugs and we have ourselves credit for.

If this does happen then it could quite possibly turn the wrath of the fans from McLeish to Lerner. Atkinson, Little, Gregory, DOL, O'Neill. All started well, all got the fans into believing that we could do something, all bar DOL got to cup finals. And then the inevitable collapse into mediocrity. Rinse and repeat. That's our Premier League legacy.

Well the inevitable is happening. Who didnt see this coming? A few of my thoughts... 1. No doubt the first thing he will say at the unveiling press conference "I believe Liverpool's position is false..." 2. Deep down I always thought that his 9 goals in 16 games last season would be his most significant contribution to Aston Villa and so it proved. 3. In this case, I dont even blame him. When he arrived he had a somewhat competent manager and Young, Downing and Walker providing chances for him now he has lost form, isnt getting chances and the club is going nowhere. Why the hell should he stay? He has a place at the Euros to play for and at nearly 28, needs to go somewhere where there is a future because there certainly isnt one here. 4. Thanks Darren for Man City home and Arsenal away, great memopries. And thank you for saving us from relegation. No bitterness here.

McLeish will not get sacked before the summer. No way no how. Protesting and or moaning at games wont achieve a thing. We need to get safe from relegation, hope things improve and then go mad in the summer and hope Randy wakes up and gets this idiot out of the cub.

Absolutely terrible. As bad a Villa performance as I have seen in 20 years. No desire, no fight and comically bad defending. He is a cancer on the club and nothing will change until he **** off. Repeat this every week until that happens. A diasterous appointment in every way possible.

I really dont know what's worse about Heskey. The fact that we signed him in the first place, pay him 60k or that he has been here for 3 years.
