So true. Our manager does not understand Villa fans at all it was so obvious from the outset that for Eck to be success at the club he would have to significantly change the way he sets out his teams and the tactics he uses (i.e no negative boring rubbish). His dinosaur boring defensive style of management was only just about acceptable at a club like Birmingham City. It was never going to wash at a big club like Aston Villa. You could compare Hodgson at Liverpool for example in that he thought players like Konchesky was acceptable for the club. You have to understand the club as an entity to be a success just like Fergie and Daglish do they know how the fans think and what they expect from a performance. We expect our players (we still have good players at AVFC) to go toe to toe the opposition whoever they are and try and win the game by attacking.

Ahh but you see mate Eck has a different mindset over what is or is not a defence dominated performance. You heard him after Man City moaning at the reporter for labelling him too defence minded. Eck thought that performance was not defensive at all...I bet he thought the same about Wigan last weekend As for the guy above asking "why dont they sack him?". Well if they were foolish enough to get him in the first place they are also on a different mindset to most of the fans (its the wrong mindest of people who dont understand Villa and dont understand football fans) We dont want a side to challenge the top 4 anymore we just want a team that will play football like Swansea or Norwich or any other half decent side!! :shock:

I disagree. As long as people pay these prices these clubs will continue to rip fans off. Fans should all join together and refuse to pay for this one.

No surprise our players earn Far Far too much money and accomplish nothing to justify the cash we pay them (Eck included).

He is not above criticism but in reality the shot to goal ratio is way higher than 1 to 1 for most strikers in the Premier League. Bent finishes seasons after season with a lot of goals and also misses some sitters...I would rather have him than not with his record but unless you a creating 3 or 4 chances for him a game rather than 1 or 2 he wont be fully effective.

It's only a matter of time until the media begin to question McLeish's managerial ability. I've noticed a lot of pundits and commentators have made a few damning comments on his defensive style and how Villa should not be playing football like they are. I personally reckon it's just a matter of time until the nationwide media join us in our hatred. Tick-tock, Tick-tock. It really is a shame because he seems like a nice guy Eck. But sadly this is football and he is still on millions of pounds and our squad should be in the top half of the table at least and should be playing good football (sadly we are doing neither of the two). The other sad thing is even if we win a few of our next few games I have no confidence in him getting our side to play "Good Attractive Football" which we long to see at Villa Park but has been missing for a great many years. Maybe its the defensive set up of teams now which makes such football hard to produce but even if this is the case Eck teams have a reputation for playing "Ugly Stuff"

Petrov has scored 4 this season so I'm not sure which two you have disregarded in counting his goals as a "couple"? Just for the completeness, he has two assists as well. 2 assists in over 20 games :shock: Adeybayor got 4 assists in just one match the other day!! Dont get me wrong im not mugging him off totally...Im just saying that this guy is meant to be our captain and has been one of the highest payed players in sqaud for some time...I think he hinders us more than helps us

I dont know how this guy gets so much stick when he is in and out the team and hardely plays enough to get himself settled... Compare it too our captain Mr Petrov who has been ever present in our dire centre midfield this season and has done nothing except score a couple...

At the end of the day though its the negative performances / boring games which has been the real worry and cause for depression rather than our results Nothing has changed since QPR were chanting boring boring villa at us the 4th game in

I think today just makes our win at Chelsea and draw at home to Arsenal all the more average imo Those two teams have been average this season...but still much better than us...

The problem is we KNOW it cant get better. At Blues and Rangers he has always played the same...its like a time warp where Eck can only see that his tactics are the onky way too play... what I would not give to play like Swansea do every so often...As a villa fan it pains me to say that.
