  1. Spurs > Newcastle > Villa = Everton What on earth does this mean? Think he means in terms of stature or status then the clubs listed are somewhat equal? Wouldn't agree myself, Spurs are streets ahead of Villa and the other 2 clubs. Spurs are streets ahead right now but I think they will fall back under AVB. I think it is a fair assessment that the 4 teams listed are currently on a potential as to what they can realistically achieve. ie 5th at best given the financial clout of the current big 4. I don't, I think AVB is an excellent young manager and given time and funds he'll keep them there or thereabouts. They were good pre Bale and will be post Bale. Spurs > Newcastle > Villa = Everton GTFO No. AVB is definitely not upto it. Redknob left spuds in 4th position (a remarkable achievement given the resources of the top 4) & for me under AVB they will implode big style next season when it all goes pear shaped. Everton may well struggle dependent upon who gets the job although I think they will be more than okay if it turns out to be mon as I expect. Newcastle always flatter to decieve & are definitely 8th place versus top 4 Villa Spuds & Everton. Under Lambo no 5 I am expecting Villa to come back with a mighty roar as I am certain he will unlock our latent potential. No question.

  3. Always had a soft spot for Everton. It really is what it claims to be, a club of the people. They have a great set of fan's & i'm sorry that they're potentially losing a great Manager in DM. All is not lost however because looking into my crystal ball I believe Mon will be the perfect fit for them & that's who I expect to be their next manager. The similarities between Everton's style under DM & ours under Mon are remarkable to say the least. I know Mon is controversial among Villa supporters but I was always in favour of him! Always. I genuinely wish Everton Good Luck & may they only ever finish 2nd when they are up against us.
  4. Ofcourse there's a God, have you never heard of Paul McGrath? Take 30 hail Mary's for your sin against the Saints!
  5. if I was capable of noshing my own bollocks I wouldn't be spending evenings on an internet forum, that's for sure No! You would be on show at Billy Smarts Circus alongside the Elephant man!(played by Steve Bruce)
  6. Con- Can we have a heat map of your opinions?....................Please!
  7. Many a word spoken in jest! Tut! Tut! Might just come back & bite you on the bum come tuesday night! Would advise you use lots of salt & pepper on your balls as believe me it will really improve the flavour!
  8. It's those Hollywood balls which is why he was dropped in the first place. You've picked out 2 examples in 2 years but the reality is he gives the ball away a lot more often than he used to put a player through on a one on one (if he ever did? Don't ever remember doing that...) When he came back into the team against QPR and Reading he didn't attempt a single long ball which makes me think it's Lambert who has told him to cut that nonsense out. Which he did to be fair, but then that was pretty much the only thing to his game. He's now an average Championship player at best in my opinion. Against Reading Bannan played 5 long balls, 3 accurate. Against QPR 1 long ball. Passing accuracy 85% and 84%, 2 key passes and 1 key pass. Two good games for Bannan. You really are the Yin to my Yang when it comes to Barry Bannan Ashvilla you've finally helped me to establish Con's true identity. Who is the `Big Yin?` Billy Connolly...............Exactly!................shorten Connolly & what do you get? Con! (Sounds plausible to me )
  9. Absolutely this!! After 7 years or so of Enkleman, Sorenson and Carson it was so nice to not have to try and stop your heart from leaping out of your mouth every time the ball dribbled tamely towards the keeper for a change. Spot on! Brad was that cool that he could easily stop a shot by calmly throwing a flamingsombrero on it! Also Adamrob69 are you on a wind up. Enckelman v Friedal is an absolute no contest! :suspect:
  10. You can't really think that? I can kind of see where he's coming from. As far as the league is concerned Lambert looks to have done a fairly good job in the end all things considering. However, there are no excuses losing to a league 2 side over two legs. No excuses whatsoever. I'm fully behind Lambert now but that cup exit was totally and utterly shameful. Totally disagree! Bradford got lucky, especially in the first leg when we were all over them & could not put the ball away. Admittedly we were piss poor at defending especially at set pieces but hey, cup shocks do happen. Okay so it was over 2 legs, but we did more than enough in terms of chances created to have bagged a hatful. Did you notice how practically every shot Swansea had in the final ended up in the back of the net whilst Darren Bent missed that that nailed on Grannies header from 2 yards out at Valley Parade. It was down to pure luck, end of. If we played them today we would smash them 10-0. Easy!
  11. You make it sound like the Eurovision Song Contest 8pints! Do you want me to put Terry Wogan in the team? Haha Very good I didn't even realise, curse that man and his Geography surname Wogan can be Director of Football. Great News 8pints - Have just offered TW the job & he started doing the Floral Dance!

  13. Okay Zatman, Isiah Tossbourne it is! Team now reads: Enckelman Beye Alpay Scimeca Warnock Djemba-Djemba Osbourne Bannan (Capt) De La Cruz Balaban Heskey Manager:Ginger McTurd Happy Now? No I'm still not happy. Its unfair to put Bannan in when his career is still in its infancy. I agree with the other three in midfield. I would put Nigel Callaghan in or maybe Stephen Ireland as he has cost us a substancial amount of money in fee and wages. We have had worse strikers than Heskey. Tony Cascarino, Alun Evans or Marlon Harewood PaulC - I hear your arguement regarding Bannan but I am purely basing his selection on what he has delivered to date & so far his performances have been horrific! As with shares, past performance is no guarantee of future success & vice versa so for his sake & all of our sakes I hope he comes good & then I will happily drop him from this team. (Being dropped is something wee Barry is now used to anyway) can't we agree on Stephen Ireland instead then. After all he's costing us 80k a week. Bannan at least came through our academy and is on a fraction of the wage Ireland is on and at least looks like he's bothered Again Ireland is a good shout. problem is he linked up the play that well with Robbie Keane during his loan spell & started to show his true potential. At least Ireland has had a handful of decent games. Bannan has none! Yes he's provided great value for money and its interesting that Lambert has totally given up on him. However I fully respect your views. I Witness just how good he was with Robinho at Man City. Yes and I thought he was a good signing because of that, and he's been a huge let down. We expected a goal scoring midfield player and he has got 1 goal for us. Its because we know what he can do and he's been such a let down I would have him in that team ahead of Bannan Okay PaulC - I'm pretty open minded & you have made many valid points, so I'll throw it out to the floor. Bannan V Ireland to play in Cente Midfield in the worst Villa Prem team ever. Let's see what other's decide.
  14. Okay Zatman, Isiah Tossbourne it is! Team now reads: Enckelman Beye Alpay Scimeca Warnock Djemba-Djemba Osbourne Bannan (Capt) De La Cruz Balaban Heskey Manager:Ginger McTurd Happy Now? However I fully respect your views. I agree. It's a pity because Ireland does have great potential ability but he really needs greater quality players around him for him to perform. Witness just how good he was with Robinho at Man City. Also, he signed for us in Limbo as part of the Milner deal & we had no proper manager at the time. paradoxically, Ireland may well be shipped out this Summer & ironically being replaced with the better quality players coming in that his game so craves. Bottom Line = Ireland is a luxury we can ill afford..
  15. He would be worth it. He would sort our defence out straight away Lescott is a Villa fan & so is his dad! I should know because his dad once battered me at the same school we went to in the 70's!
  16. R Bear....Hendrie has been replaced by Osbourne!
  17. Oh god no. I wouldn't give Bannan a contract the length of his dick!

  19. Perhaps your right! I never forgave DOL for dropping Mellberg & partnering Alpay with Ronnie Johnsen for our opening day 2-1 reverse at Portsmouth in August 2003. I'm open to persuasion so as previously I will consider all other nominated suggestions & alter accordingly as I wish the eventual team to be reached by overall consensus & majority rule. So, for now at least, Alpay remains in this shocking side alongside Scimeca.,

(Being dropped is something wee Barry is now used to anyway) Also I agree with you about Cascarino because he was absolutely horrific & Harewood was in the original selection (check OP) only to be quite rightly replaced by Bosco Balaban who another poster quite rightly brought to my attention. Is Cascarino as piss poor as Heskey? Not for me, but I grant you it's scarily close no question. Probably a cigarette paper between them!
  21. Can you get him to pm me this weeks lottery numbers?
  22. Highly improbable that Norwich, Newcastle, Sunderland, Southampton - all win (indeed I think sunderland play saints) - Then Wigan beat Arsenal - theres just to many escape routes for us. No team 5 points clear - with 3 games to go has ever been relegated - and now there's only two. Before Wigan's defeat yesterday I was absolutely dreading this weekends fixtures, forecasting nothing but wins for Newcastle, Norwich & Southampton & inevitable defeat.for us versus Chelski. Now the landscape has changed & I think Newcastle, Norwich & Sunderland would more than value a draw now & might even play for one with Wigan due to play at Arsenal. A single point could put them out of Wigan's reach, though that could prove dangerous for the bar codes!
