  1. The one thing that warms the cockles of the Villa hearts is you just know with certainty that Lambo consistently knows what he is doing in the transfer market. When was the last time that that could be said of a Villa Manager? Big Fat Ron was the last one for me!
  2. Choffer! Shame on me! I bet my life this was one of Richard's post's! How bloody miserable are you?
  3. Okay Zatman, Isiah Tossbourne it is! Team now reads: Enckelman Beye Alpay Scimeca Warnock Djemba-Djemba Osbourne Bannan (Capt) De La Cruz Balaban Heskey Manager:Ginger McTurd Happy Now?
  4. personally i couldn't give a monkeys about "marquee signings", i hope we don't go down that route as it would go against what PL and the club have set out as a direction and which is starting to bear fruit. why abandon it so soon? i'd rather trust PL to sign 6 young players to give a lot of depth to the squad and more competition. if only 3 of them turn out to be really good players at this level then it's a success. instead of spunking the same (or more) money on 1 player and putting all our eggs in one primadonna highly paid basket. who could turn out to be a basket case anyway. i'm not saying we don't need to sign talent but our recent history should be enough to learn that just throwing cash at the squad isn't going to work. I endorse your sentiments Romavillan so to clarify I want to see us strike a balance. 2 or 3 big signings & further additions from the lower leagues. Also Lambert has not wasted any money so far so I'm sure he can be trusted & has earned the right to spend a bit. The fans also need to be rewarded for the loyalty, patience & understanding shown this nightmare of a season. No question.
  5. Let's be totally honest here.........you wouldn't wish relegation on your worst enemy would you? So hoping sha end up in League 1 next May!
  6. Whose conducting the Autopsy? - Quincy!
  7. I want to see us make a major statement of intent this window by going head to head with some of the bigger guns for some big, big marquee signings. (Especially with the new TV Deal.) Out bidding all comers for De Bruyne would do just that. Lambert can then use his fantastic knowledge of the lower leagues to unearth other hidden gems to supplement & strengthen the squad further. Bottom Line - We do not want to be involved in next season's bloody relegation battle in any shape or form.
  8. Who do we want to come up via the play offs? Brighton. Palace, Leicester or Watford? The rumour doing the rounds is that Mon may well return to Leicester though I think that would be highly unfair on Nigel Pearson should he get them promoted. Personally I hope it is Watford because I don't rate Zola & after this season's relegation nightmare they can at least be the new Reading. Can't stand Holloway but do like Poyet at Brighton.
  9. I for one was more than happy when the score was 2-2 at the DW yesterday & would have taken it there & then as due to the dreaded lurgy (relegation fear) I honestly did not see Swansea winning that match last night & viewed a Wigan draw has damage limitation. 3-2 sent me into an aploplectic frenzy of joy!
  10. PaulC, Pelle & claretman- I humbly accept your arguement & now I throw it out to you to nominate his central midfield replacement to be included here. Tell me your choice & I will include whom I consider the best nomination. Now let me get back to that humble pie
  11. Just how big a goal was Gabby's last minute winner at Norwich on satuday? Looks like £70M now minimum. Anyway, I'll go 0-2 v Chelsea & 1-1 at Wigan yielding us one further pt & sadly no clean sheets That will leave us on 41pts & hopefully no lower than16th place. ps- Would gratefully of snatched your hands off for that position after the Southampton & Newcastle results in January that have left the majority of us all brickin it ever since.
  12. Being picked once or twice for England doesn't mean that you are a special player. As if to prove my point, perhaps the biggest Lame Donkey of all time `He'll Miss Heskey` has been capped on numerous occasions. You will also notice that I have included Barn Door Heskey up front with Balaban in this worst ever Premiership Villa thread. Also, please confirm that the following players are great because they've played for England. Geoff Thomas, Lee Dixon, Robert Green, Mathew Upson, Rickett's (Bolton & Walsall striker ........etc etc etc the list is endless.( see my point?) Anyway, for convenience, the worst Villa side ever so far in Premier league history in my opinion now reads as follows: Enckelman Beye Scimeca Alpay Warnock Djemba-Djemba Hendrie Bannan (Capt) De la Cruz Heskey Balaban Manager: Jock McJudas McShit Scary!
  13. As if to prove my point Lee waste of space Hendrie couldn't even cut it at Kidderminster Harriers. Definitely one of the most over rated players of all time ever to insult the claret & blue shirt!
  14. Wow! What happened between 6.47 and 7.33 this morning to make those odds lengthen so much? Apparently Bruce Grobelaar told John Higgins that Wigan now need snookers on the final day of the season against us to stay up. This conversation of both dodgy characters was allegedly caught on cctv cameras in the bogs at William Hill's at 6.47 - 7.33 am today & allegedly they also swapped brown paper envelopes with some shady looking Far East characters at the same time. Tune in to the Panarama special at 6-47 to 7-33pm this evening where all will be revealed.. .
  15. Bad news i'm afraid Gompedyret, draw the curtains in your back garden because according to Stephen Ireland's twitter account he is being loaned out to Oslo FC. Scouts honour
  16. I think you'll find it was Ireland who is responsible for that tweet!
  17. & That's Rory Delap in the middle just about to take a throw in isn't it?
  18. Absolute Quality! Love it!
  19. "Do you wan't to look lik a complete bunch of muppets tonight in front of a watching National audience? No! Well bloody go out there & prove it to me then!" That's what I hope Laudrup says to his players just prior to kick off this evening.
  20. Wigan just do my bloody head in! Aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgghhh!
  21. QPR & Reading are definitely relegated! Anything can happen in football! Definitely!
  22. It's that clearing in the woods Kevin Friend. You know, the moron who gave us the most inept performance ever by a referee this season at home to QPR. He's certainly no friend of mine! Shit refs............we alway's get shit refs!
  23. Someone was just pointing out a scenario that could happen - it's very unlikely to happen, but it's interesting to mention it and make people aware of the playoff scenario - a rule that probably isn't well known or has ever come in to practice. If we lose to Chelsea and they draw their next game it will certainly be a talking point! Especially if both results are 1-0
