  1. I wonder how intelligent our players when following tactics and remembering patterns of play? Say if Henry arrives and he wants to play the 1-2 touch pass and off ball movements, do you think that is too advance for our players?
  2. He needs to be coached on his tactical ability and finding positions. He played too deep to receive the ball at times. He does require support from other players so that he is not looking to receive the ball from deep. Main problem is him finding space in the right positions. He didn't have a bad game.
  3. Thinking of what sort of style of I want our new manager to bring. At this level I am not expecting free flowing football because I don't think we have the players of that amazing touch pass ability. I would like us to have that sort of adaptability, when we are able to keep it on the ground build up our play from the back and expose the weaknesses of the opposition, however I also think that we should take advantage of our strengths. I do feel that we have players that are suited to a more direct style where we can play it to the wings and put it in the box. Watford have that type of style where they have a bit of fluidity to their play with Pereyra finding pockets of space but they use their target man in Deeney. to hold the ball and bring players in. What sort of football style are you guys hoping for with this current crop of players?
  4. KMac said that the new manager may have eyes on the Millwall game. Celtic don't play until Sunday..
  5. I cannot call it it could be anyone.. These are the high profile unemployed managers at the moment. Laurent Blanc, Henry, Hassenhutti, Montella, Conte , Wenger, De Boer, Carvalhal, Bosz. I don't think it will be Moyes
  6. I have a feeling that our new manager is currently a free agent. I don’t want it to be, but I think it’s Henry or Carvalho. Problem with Carvalho is that he sets his teams up to defend not attack. The football was incredibly boring at Sheffield Wednesday which was why he got sacked.
  7. Why is he so good.. - Shakhtar are one of the most attractive teams to watch in the UCL - Tactically he is very flexible - He has been linked with top European clubs - Considered one of Europe's top young coaches A more detailed explanation is below. https://theback3.wordpress.com/2017/06/14/paulo-fonseca-a-man-of-style-and-maybe-europes-next-coaching-commodity/
  8. He would turn us into a top 6 side if given the time and resources.
  9. I didn't mention pedigree. I think that he is overrated.
  10. I think that he selects the team, he monitors training and motivates his players and keeps the morale up. After a match probably has a meeting with his staff, reviews data and analytics and they all decide on the best course of action for the next game.
  11. Your right the head coaches would train the players so that they can play to that style ... BUT the biggest point is that their coaches are not going to leave with Dean Smith. Brentford have a continuity process, Dean Smith is disposable and one of Brentford's assistant coaches would be promoted as head coach. Which is why i am skeptical of Dean Smith. Dean Smith would not get Villa promoted.
  12. The way Brentford play and recruit is not down to DS. They have two DOFs. A technical director. He has an individual development coach, analysis team and two assistant head coaches.. He has not created a vision for Brentford he is part of it. Yes Dean Smith brings something unique to his job otherwise he would not be their head coach but many fans reasoning to why DS should be appointed are factors that he is not responsible for. If DS left Brentford, they would still play the same way and recruit the same way.
  13. I also think that our owners are envious of wolves and their methods that got them promoted. I cannot see our next manager being from the same league. I also cannot see them appointing someone fairly new into management. They are going to try to entice a high quality manager to come here with the help of Jorge Mendes.
  14. It;s going to be a very tough job for whoever is becomes our manager. Our defence is fractured. If we bring in a possession based manager we may struggle earlier on because we don't really have defenders that can play from the back. We have players suited to different styles of football in one squad thanks to Bruce. Looking like another rebuilding process.
  15. Dean Smith is not a great coach He has 20 other coaches and is part of a system. If we bring in Dean Smith he will fail miserably .
  16. Marco Rose, Brendan Rodgers or Ralph Hasenhutti for me There are some decent managers on this list too. https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/10-best-managers-europe-youve-probably-not-heard-yet
  17. Arteta would be an amazing appointment. But lets remember; We need a tactician who has a philosophy and has the right coaching team to help implement that. The new manager will not be able to sign any new players until Jan so he has to be able to bring the most out of our current crop of players. I am nervous and excited and I don't think we will appoint a manager until after the Millwall game.
  18. Sky sports are saying that he has been sacked
  19. I want Bruce out as soon as possible. However my question is. If we appoint a new manager say next week, what expectations should we have? Especially when with Chester banned for 3 matches?
  20. Happy that my earlier prediction didn't go through.. Without Chester.. Millwall are going to batter us physically on Saturday. Bruce will not be next week.. Latest
  21. I think that Bruce will win the next two games, He will stay and will be given a big vote of confidence over the international break and he will remain smug. He will sign James Collins on a Samba deal. I think that we will reach bad form again, and then sack him however it will be too late to salvage the season. Next summer we will sell Grealish and other players due to FFP pressure and BIG cuts will be made and.. Well I don't even want to think about it.. Point is.. All this can be avoided if he is sacked regardless if we win or not.
  22. As I have said months ago. Dean Smith is part of an infrastructure, i wouldn't be surprised if his training schedule is actually prepared for him by other staff. He is wonderful for Brentford but he will not work here especially midway through a season. Honestly, I can see someone like Claudio Ranieri arriving on a short term deal to give us that push for promotion.
