  1. Just a couple I've come up witht today. First one for Jean Makoun to the tune of Diamonds are Forever. He's got diamonds on his jumper, his jumper. He's got diamonds on his jumper, his jumper. He's got diamonds on his jumper, his jumper. And his name's Jean Makoun. Comes from the Cameroon. Then for Ciaran Clark to the tune of Dedicated Follower of Fashion. He can play here. He can play there. Plays for the team. Plays anywhere. Anyone will tell you that his name is Ciaran Clark. If they're a dedicated follower of Villa.
  2. Wow just seen it on SSN too. Definite goal scorer. Can't see us going down with Bent.
  3. I hope so, it's pointless having Pires on the bench. Pires may be making room on the bench if GH takes exception to the reports in the Daily Telegraph reputedly with Pires sharing problems besetting the club. Maybe, or was it intentionally leaked in the hope that it would paint the players as the villains?
  4. I hope so, it's pointless having Pires on the bench.
  5. Team in the relegation zone? I have no personal dislike of GH but even if you had no pre-conceptions of him when appointed you must see that we have underperformed this season. I'm undecided on whether to sack him or not as I think long term it could be great for the club but not if we get relegated and I'm not 100% convinced we won't be, I don't see how anyone could be.
  6. I'd like to see Paul Lambert as manager if GH goes, I think he is going to be a top manager.
  7. I think he could be a superb LB once he learns the position. He has the attributes to play there, just needs experience playing there. We don't know how often he has been playing that position in training, if he hasn't had much time playing there at all then he did a reasonably good job against Chelsea.
  8. He does have the knack of being in the right positions, he was perfectly placed for a tap in at the end of the first half too if Collins had managed to get his header past Cech.
  9. So much more fight and solidity. Turning point whatever the result? Dunne looks fit too. Plus anyone else notice that Cuellar looks far better in possession than he used to at right back?
  10. Clark at LB, bit of a gamble but he has all the attributes to play there except maybe lacking a bit of pace. Anyway prefer to see him tried over Warnock. Should be no excuses on set pieces with 4 CBs in the side. Positive formation though 4-4-2.
  11. ----------------------Friedel------------------------ L Young-------Cuellar----Collins--------Warnock -----------------NRC------Petrov------------------ ----------------------Delph------------------------- Albrighton---------------------------------A Young -----------------------Heskey-----------------------
  12. Yes and NRC on the solidity part.
  13. ....and your sentiments are good, I'd be saying there are no locks on the gates....stay behind them that want to go and I'll help you. Maybe get Ashley Young away from the rest of the squad before saying this, just in case.
  14. I agree with you post, Ireland had a flu before and now he has a bad knee? Carew isn't fit to travel either, he hasn't been fit all season what is he doing to get himself fit? going abroad was a good idea in progressing to fitness I imagine.. well done Carew. I hate the way Carew is taking the piss, he should be leaving as a hero but the effort he is showing at the moment just takes the piss out of all that have chanted his name. Really disappointed with this guy's behaviour.
  15. Maybe they keep mentioning The Battle of Waterloo.
  16. Also have you noticed how quickly Stephen Ireland makes a decision on a pass. It's a lot quicker than the others we have and sometimes the forwards have not been quick enough to latch onto the passes. I can think of a couple, one against Fulham in a brief appearance and one that put Downing through against Blackburn. We don't really have anyone else at the club who is capable of this on a regular basis, Young does sometimes and Bannan has the potential to, maybe Delph in time but not right now. We need a forward who makes intelligent runs and is happy with the ball into feet and with the ball at his feet, Tuncay would be a decent short time signing in my opinion.
  17. True but at that stage of the game Man City had totally took their foot off the gas and gave Villa license to pass amongst themselves with more time and space afforded than is usual in most premiership games. Can't see him getting that kind of time and space when games are still competitive.
  18. He needs to be given another chance when Ashley Young isn't fit. We are severely lacking creativty in the middle, he would have been ideal to come on against 10 men Spurs last week. Don't know if he is injured or just left out of the squad but I hope to at least see him on the bench ahead of Pires if/when he is fit.
  19. I saw a bit of a feisty tackle and collision, then after they walked their separate ways, I saw Delph shouting at him "**** pr*ck". Suddenly I like Delph even more.
  20. This poll should include all of the above as none of them are totally blameless for our current situation. Same as if we were doing well this year they would all have been partly responsible for that.
  21. Saves you buying them at least.
  22. Are you confusing him with Dion Dublin?
