  1. Just for the record, a standard SIM is the size of a credit card. Most phones use a mini SIM and the S3 uses a micro SIM.
  2. How did your child brain handle that communion is literally cannibalism?
  3. I wonder how much weight is added by making the cases interchangeable.
  4. Aston Villa Lions and Legends to take on Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice A team of young upstarts from Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice are hoping it will be third time lucky when they take on a squad of footballing legends from Aston Villa. For the past two years, a variety of former Villa players have managed to deny victory to the Hospice team, which is made up of friends of Kings Norton charity supporter Kieran Lavin. But after losing only 3-2 in 2011, the amateurs are feeling more confident than ever. This year’s exciting showdown, whose proceeds will be donated to the Selly Park-based Hospice, is set to take place at the West Midlands Travel Stadium in Wheeler’s Lane, Kings Heath, on Sunday, October 14. Kick-off between Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice and Aston Villa Lions and Legends is at 2.30pm. Kieran said: “For the past two years, the charity match has gone from strength to strength and in total has raised close to £20,000 for the Hospice, which is amazing.” He added: “In addition to seeing some of the top former Villa players in action, this year’s event promises to be a great family afternoon, with a range of entertainment on offer including an inflatable assault course, wellie wanging and go karts.” Hospice fundraiser Jen Boilestad said: “Kieran’s done some amazing work in pulling together the annual charity match yet again, so on behalf of our patients and their families I would like to say a big thank you. “We’re really excited about this year’s event and we’re sure the Hospice team has a strong chance of beating the Villa legends!” Kieran organised the first match between the Hospice and former Villa players in April 2010 after witnessing the care provided by the charity to one of his close friends. With around 500 people turning out on that glorious spring afternoon to watch a great game of footie a total of £8,200 was raised for the Hospice. In 2011 the match had a new focus in the form of the Michael Cuddy Memorial Trophy, set up in celebration of the life of one of the Hospice team members, Michael Cuddy, who died suddenly in June 2010. Tickets for the match are £4 each are available from the Hospice on 0121 472 1191 or can be bought on the day. Children under 12 enter free. Birmingham St. Mary's Hospice. 5. I find myself using "word removed" in conversation sometimes, and I can't claim any credit for creating that one.
  6. It might be worth start a nexus 7 thread rather than use this general thread.
  7. There are only hundreds of billions of galaxies. That's why it's so important to wash your feet and face an arbitrary place on one of the planets surrounding the estimated 40,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars in the universe. None of the other places matter.
  8. There are screens on both sides of the North Stand. A colour TV one to the right (from the Holte) and a scoreboard to the left.
  9. If you just want to play with a note, you could always buy one online and return it as per the Distance Selling Regulations.
  10. I have the same reservations over the funding model but the fact an independent can propose to build this is impressive.
  11. This is a thread for someone asking where to take his son before the game. Please start a new thread if you want to discuss something else about the game.
  12. I rarely use a case for it, but I bought this and I'm happy with it on the rare occasions I need a case.
  13. The prices for what are high? If you buy the Nexus, you install then Kindle app and read your amazon books from that.
  14. I have never heard the expression "weak agnosticism". Agnosticism is not a scale. Either you have knowledge that god(s) exist or you don't. If these aren't your own personal definitions, please can you tell us where you get them from as they are apparently unknown to the people you are debating with.
  15. Can you point me to the study that wibbles are fluff puffs in denial? If you make up your own definitions for atheist and agnostic, how is someone else going to have done a study into it?
  16. Can you recommend a book list? I'm sure those of us that have actually studied this would be interested. Could you explain why you don't call yourself atheist when you have confirmed that you are? It certainly appears you have some particular distaste for the word itself. Your reason might be a good one, could you explain it? Otherwise it does indeed look like your scared to describe yourself as what you are.
  17. Atheist is a really clear definition though. It's someone that do some degree, doesn't accept that god(s) are real. That's it. You stated you are not sure that god exists, therefore you are an atheist. That's just a fact based on your statement. Why do you not accept that label? I could understand it if you have your own personal definition of atheist. Please can you describe what you think atheist means? You have capitalised it, does that imply you feel it is a proper noun?
  18. What utter drivel. Have you asked these people? It's what you think, not a fact. If you allow the possibility that there are no gods, you are an atheist and it's simply a matter of degree. Whether you are agnostic or not is completely unrelated. The definition of "agnostic" might be changing with misuse, but "atheist" still means the same thing. Atheism is a spectrum from weak ("I'm not sure whether there is a god") to strong ("There is no god"). If your personal vocabulary defines "agnostic" to mean the same as "weak atheist" then I'm afraid what you quoted is not drivel.
  19. Not having access to the Play store would be a killer for me, so it depends whether they are easy to unlock.
  20. I'm just watching a female character on Eastenders holding a young lad up against the wall and yelling at him. Just as real. WWE advertises itself as "sports entertainment". I don't think they're pretending its a sport.
  21. I don't understand why wrestling being scripted makes any difference to whether people enjoy it or not. Apparently Eastenders has a script and tens of millions watch it.
  22. I'm not sure why you think I was angry? It's my opinion that you were posting regurgitated marketing spiel. I don't really see how anyone can argue with that when other than some pictures, that is all that's available. They haven't even announced a price. My only opinion of the phone is that I don't like it's looks. I'm not even the only person in this thread to say that. It's great that you've found some web sites which agree with you. I'll bet I can find others that don't. It'll be harder though, because the ones that don't say nice things don't get early access, promotional materials, related advertising or wined and dined on the expense account. You are and always were free to discuss anything about the phone in this thread, only you have suggested otherwise. No-one was ever stopping you. I find it amusing that you are reacting in exactly the way the fanbois did to your posts when you dissed their iphones. But I'm guessing the irony is lost. Feel free to have the last word. If you still want to discuss this, let's do it by PM. This must be the only thread about this handset on the whole internet which made it to two pages (outside of the marketing, sorry "review", sites).
  23. Please stop with the personal remarks. So you are allowed to post your opinions and I'm not? and you'll notice that as what you posted about ultrabooks was accurate and balanced, I didn't comment in a similar manner. Same as when you were posting comparative posts about Android devices in response to posts in Apple threads. No-one has said you can't say you like it. Am I allowed to say I don't like it? Marketing doesn't affect how the product looks and I've not said it does. I don't like it and said so. You said that you like it because Nokia make good looking phones. I don't think they do. It's my opinion. It would be nice if you could say which of Nokia's phones gave them that reputation in your eyes, but it sounded like you were repeating a soundbite to me. As I think I said pretty clear I don't have a hatred of Windows. Please stop repeating this lie. It's my job to recommend these things. My opinion is vastly different from the sites you've been reading, especially from a enterprise perspective. I have actually used windows 8. I have first hand experience. Do you only accept tech advice from sites who say what you want to read? I don't use Windows for my desktop as it is inferior in almost every way for MY usage. Who has said you aren't allowed to like Windows? Am I allowed an opinion, or is it only your opinion allowed? Not that it's relevant to the discussion, but you haven't said that all along, you've started saying it recently. So you are trying to justify a decision you've already made? That's also fine and explains quite a lot about the tone of your original post. Absolutely nothing. I look forward to reading about your experiences, rather the the experiences of others who have a vested interest. You have a problem with iphone fans, I have a problem with fanbois of any flavour. Especially the ones who don't realise.
