Pelle
I checked their site out just a few minutes ago and saw this: New Lineup September 1, 2012geoff I’m sure the last few months have been very frustrating for you. I know they have been for me. There are so many questions and so few answers. It is said that adversity makes one stronger. Well, I’m definitely in a better place now than I’ve ever been before. I feel very positive and excited. The challenge, when you’re in a creative environment, is keeping things fresh and invigorating, and after working with the same people for thirty years, it gets very difficult—You walk into the room, and everybody knows what everyone is going to do. There’s no spark, the chemistry is very tried and true and you just keep coming up with the same ways of expressing yourself. Today is a new day and I am thrilled to announce the new Queensrÿche. Joining me are: Rudy Sarzo, Bobby Blotzer, Kelly Gray and Randy Gane. Together we shall embark on a new musical journey that will be a greater extension of where Queensrÿche has ever been. With this new project, with these new people, it’s a whole new scene. There are new ideas, different musical backgrounds and a whole new set of parameters. Everyone has ideas you haven’t heard before, and everyone is throwing them against the wall and suddenly … the music has a whole new life. I look forward to this new life and I hope to see you on tour as all of us come together and begin this new era. Geoff Tate Here So Geoff Tate, a hero of mine, has parted from all of the others and formed a new band and still calls them Queensryche? Why have they parted? Does anyone know? And for some strange reason I'd be happier if he called it something else, like The Geoff Tate project.
Keyblade
All I know is Geoff Tate's new solo album is a pile of crap.
Pelle
So he made a bad solo album too? Hm, so it didn't work and now he's decided that by gathering some musicians and call them Queensryche might help that career? I guess that's up to to him to decide. Eames
Geoff re-unites with two of his old mates and a couple of long standing rock lags to piss even further on his own legacy. Mindcrime was brilliant..... but the last offering.... not so much.
Pelle
Mindcrime, Empire, Promised land were all brilliant. American soldier quite ok. Some good stuff between. But I won't buy their new record, I think. Tate is still a brilliant singer, though. But I think he'll miss Wilton especially. The other guys too. rjw63
From Wiki: Following a highly-publicized backstage altercation before a show in São Paulo, Brazil in April 2012, Wilton, Jackson and Rockenfield replaced Tate with Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre. In response to his dismissal, Tate and his wife Susan (who served as the band's manager from 2005–2012) filed a suit in a Washington court, claiming that he was wrongfully terminated. Until the band's court date in November 2013, both parties are allowed to use the name Queensrÿche;[3] Tate has subsequently created his own lineup featuring former guitarist Gray and members from bands including Ratt and Whitesnake. mjmooney Posted December 14, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted December 14, 2012 I used to have Operation Mindcrime on cassette. Can't say it ever grabbed me that much.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall. Sad thing this, I think. I find it hard for any of them to get success without the other/s. The world could do with two Queensryche, but not like this. I used to have Operation Mindcrime on cassette. Can't say it ever grabbed me that much. Yeah, but you're a weird ol' git too. One of the best albums ever, IMO. And even better live. Keyblade
That quote reminded me of Crimson Glory, very underrated prog metal band.
