The_Rev
Hey! We still sing Cascarino's name at Villa Park! Sometimes.
leviramsey Posted June 11, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted June 11, 2013 Cascarino can surely give great insight on what it's like to have a surname where three of the last four letters are i, n, and o.
The_Rev
True. And to be fair the only reason he gets into the Villa rendition of "Blaydon Races" is because his surname fits, it's certainly nothing to do with his ability as a footballer. **edit** I didn't realise how prolific he was for Marseilles though. Didn't sign for them until he was in his mid thirties and scored 73 in 120, though 71 of them were in the French second division. Zatman
He is still a bit of a hero over there and did pretty well in France as had a spell at Nancy as well. He was suited more to continental style of play
The_Rev
Either that or the French second division is shit.
tinker Posted June 12, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted June 12, 2013 Cascanrino, all I can remember him for is missing an easy header in the final minutes of an away leg against inter Milan, we would have gone through as well, if my memory serves me well
