GaztonVilla
I'm confused (but that wouldnt be a first...) How come we play some teams twice, home and away, but only play some teams once (Sunderland and Newcastle, for example...)? Are these friendlies? If so, somebody needs to tell the OS cos they have them down as league matches...
Moderator BOF Posted August 16, 2010 Author Moderator Share Posted August 16, 2010 We play our own Southern League opponents twice. We play the Northern teams once each. This adds up to 5*2 from our league (10 games) and a game against each of the ten Northern sides. So a 20 game season for us. Someone needs to tell the O/S that it's not a 16 team league table. But I won't pretend I don't enjoy us being right and them being wrong
GaztonVilla
Ah, clear as mud. Thanks. Now I just need to arrange a half day for the Newcastle match. 3pm on a Tuesday afternoon? Poor..
AVFC-Prideofbrum
Look at you with your fancy codes and what not, Mr. Big Shot. Who do you reckon will be leading scorer this year!? Might struggle a bit this year with no MacDonald possibly? if he is to become manager..
Moderator BOF Posted August 16, 2010 Author Moderator Share Posted August 16, 2010 Now I just need to arrange a half day for the Newcastle match. 3pm on a Tuesday afternoon? Poor.. If it's at their training ground then there's a fair chance it's behind closed doors. That's the other big (and bad) change about this season. Fans can't get to see games even if they're available to.

barry'sboots
Gary Gardner will be back and playing in 12 weeks according to his facebook. For anybody that is a regular viewer of the reserves, I wondered whether we are likely to see any more blooded this season? I see Gardner is 18 now. Is he good enough to get in and around the first team squad this season, recovery permitting? Same question of Parish, Collins and Forrester? fantram
What has happened to young Austrian keeper Thomas Dau? Has he been released by the club? Also, is there going to be a 'sticky' thread for Academy Under 18 games this season? There has been two Academy league games played already.
