Monkey Island on an Amiga 500 was the first actual game I played, but my Amiga came with a load of educational 'games' I probably played first before my cousin gave me Monkey Island.

My mate was in a game of Call of Duty with Carruthers the other day, didn't have much to say about Villa apparently, although my mate's a Bradford City fan so I doubt he asked him much about Villa anyway. Crazy to think he came through in the same Next Gen team as Jack considering where they both are now.

If that handball is at the other end it's given. If Rashford makes that 'dive' he gets a penalty. It's that simple.

Okay, fair enough, then perhaps the negative starting point of the fans is part of that 'loser mentality'.

I don't get what that has to do with today's team, most of which either weren't born or were in nappies when that run started, but okay. I just think it's a strange starting point to blame this team for the results of the past 25 years. Particularly when they've shown themselves to be quite resillient at other times this season.

We're one of the teams who've dropped the fewest points from winning positions in the league this season, in fact we were joint best before Jack's injury.

Barkley covered more ground than any other Villa player in that half. Did I wake up in the Upside Down?

I think the map is better for sure, but the game still needs an entirely new map. We were also denied what would've been our first back to back wins last night because a team was exploiting the glitch under stadium. We then got wiped literally the next game by a team doing the same thing at train station. I don't know how many areas of the map you can currently clip into but I imagine it'll be months before they find and fix them all.

We've not been great but this is one of the most one sided refereeing performances I've seen in some time. He's give us nothing all game.

Yeah having played a few games now not a lot of note has really changed. They've put some warmer filters on the game and added some grass. Factory is an okay change and there's some small quality of life improvements like ladders up to previously innacessible roofs and ever so slightly less tall buildings, but everything else is a bit meh. Stadium especially is pretty disappointing, it used to be a decent drop now it's just a massive open space no one goes anywhere near. And of course it's pretty buggy. The gun balance actually seems good though for the first time in a while, plenty of viable options.

So much for tonight's event being better, I sat waiting for an hour while my buddies were stuck in a server queue, and the playlist just updated and the event has been removed. None of us got to do it. GG.

Apparently there was a new map that was leaked a while back (Ural Mountains) and their intention was to kill WZ and move over to the Cold War engine for Blackout 2 on said map, but with the unexpected success of WZ and the Modern Warfare engine they decided to scrap it and chuck together this re-skin last minute. I don't know how much of that is true but it kinda makes sense, hence the original 'nuke' event before Black Ops came out and the rushed and poorly executed integration of the CW weapons.

Fair play the latest patch notes were actually detailed, and seemed to address most of the balance issues, and even pre-empt some new ones, even if it did take an entire season. Fingers crossed they didn't finally balance the game only to make the two new weapons completely overpowered.. Yesterday's event however was a complete shit show, multiple server crashes, server queues, connection issues, none of me and my friends could even see eachother online even when we did finally get in, and ultimately the event itself was pretty underwhelming. Hopefully 'part 2' is a little better.

I can't say I'm as confident they're all going to be heading into this meeting pitchforks alight. Steve Parish when interviewed yesterday was talking about them being 'good guys' and 'we don't need to be hasty'.

I'd love nothing more than to kick these clubs into the abyss but ultimately all that does it punish the fans. I really think they have to go for the owners. permanent bans for the owners of the six PL clubs involved and anyone else whose name is on anything (Woodward, Levy etc). Maybe a points deduction and a transfer embargo or two wouldn't go amiss though.

Pointing the blame at UEFA and other clubs feels a bit like the #AllLivesMatter bollocks. Yes everyone in football is a greedy twunt, yes it needs massive reforms, but right now there's a very immediate threat from a very small group of greedy twunts that needs dealing with first and if you're deflecting the blame away from those individuals I can't help but think you're part of the problem.

The best thing that could happen tonight is Leeds kick off then stand aside and let the bin dippers score as many as they want. Highlight how pointless these games are now and how pointless football is without competition.

I think this could be important. The quotes coming from UEFA about maintaining sporting integrity make you want to sick in your mouth, but this attempted power grab may just have made them consider looking further ahead than the trough at the end of their nose and potentially re-evaluate just who it is they're getting into bed with. I can't say I'm optimistic though.

This thread is so bizarre. It's basically Villa fans who are most definitely not obsessed with Leeds desperately trying to prove that we're better than Leeds, and Leeds fans who for some reason thought an Aston Villa fan forum would be a receptive place for disparaging opinions about Aston Villa.
